Console Crunch #1 - Game Sack

  • Here's something new I'd like to try, taking a nod from Cinemassacre who does similar things to great success with AVGN seasons. I want to offer more of these types of videos in the future with console episodes and other themes episodes, while keeping them at or around the 3 hours or so. What would you like to see? Or do you hate this idea with every fiber of your being?

So to answer some questions that so far nobody is really asking but I wanna give answers to anyway: These will only be released in off weeks and not in lieu of new content. Also I only plan on releasing one of these maybe once every 2 months at most. It also helps TH-cam see that the channel is alive so maybe Game Sack won't get buried in the almighty overseeing algorithm... well not AS buried anyway. To answer the question you're asking in your head YES I'm in my underwear as I type this. Wait... you're not asking that?

I actually really like your hardware breakdowns. I've even edited down just the hardware breakdowns into a single video file. I've ordered them by release dates, so we can see the hardware evolution over time. It's fascinating, especially considering how different hardware was between consoles.
Even among the same generation there were big differences, like Nintendo not using a Motorola 68000 chip, a processor common among arcade machines, whereas most competitors were focused on bringing the arcade experience home so they used a chip from that family. Nowadays things are pretty similar. I mean, look at PS4 vs X1. There are far more similarities between the two consoles than there are differences.

It’s a pity that when Melania moved in, she gutted the retro game room to make room for a McDonalds.

Love this, as long as it doesn't mean an end to _new_ episodes!

I tend to re-watch episodes anyway so this is a blessing to play while I'm doing housechores or working :)

I got this system for Christmas in 1990, not long after release. It was the first 16-bit generation system I owned, and I went on to do the whole trading thing to switch to Genesis, then SNES. As it turned out, I was the only one in my group of friends to have this system, and they got their laughs poking fun at me while they enjoyed a ton of both brand and licensed releases as I waited for the Japanese ports I was SURE would come over to North America... But, never did. I had my system converted by a downtown video game shop, and so was able to play PC-Engine games directly on the system. The shop person had to pry it out of my hands when I traded it in for a Genesis with games. It is the one system that I absolutely regret letting go of along with the ton of NA and Japanese games that I traded with it. Should have kept it... After I cycled through them all, I bought a TurboDuo - that I still have packed in its original box and plastic.

I love these videos I always considered myself a big time collector but you guys are on another level. Hey btw regarding game cube you guys said it had no fighters beside smash bro’s melee. It has soul caliber 2 with link from Zelda it has a flying dragon sequel it also has capcom vs snk EO which was also on Xbox. It let you do easy supers mapped to the directions on the dpad.

I have just watched the full playlist of "Console Focused Episodes" (more than once) I actually enjoy just having some sack on in the background.
And it looks like now I get to watch some in a different order.
