Love this stuff. I'm a tech at an arcade and I've watched most of these and gotten quite a few ideas for cabs to get and restore for the arcade. We have a couple hundred right now so it's never too late to swap some cabs with some new games I learned about.
I found GameSack only a year or so ago but have since binged every episode and continue to watch everything you guys put out. Great channel, cool format, A+ dadjoke humor -- thanks for being awesome!
Nice to see all these episodes, and recognizing the titles that, since their appearance, would actually appear on consoles in collections or downloadable games.
Nothing at all wrong with emulation. Glad to see it. Not everyone can afford the money or space to collect, own, and keep every console and game. Great collection of episodes!
I think people who hate emulation tend to be collectors who want to be "gatekeepers". maybe they get upset when they pay a fortune for a rare game and anybody can play it via emulation. 🤷🏻♂️
Exactly. And even if everyone had the room/money, there are only so many physical copies/machines in existence and too many gamers chasing them. So unless IP holders start allowing more re-releases, emulation and FPGAs are the path forward. Luckily both are improving all the time, specially in terms of dealing with input lag.
I really love this channel! I learn something new about video games everytime I watch these videos! It's too bad some of these games didn't make it to a home console! Thanks for making TH-cam worth watching Game Sack! Keep up the good work! 👍
That Rastan opening theme is my jam. The first arcade game music I fell in love with. Also, seeing you open that Master System cartridge and plug in the chip was wild.
The crunch videos are the best literally it's what I fall asleep to could watch this stuff forever. Thanks Joe for all your hard work and thanks to anyone that helps you make these amazing videos.
Thanks for not viewing/spoiling the main boss of a game on your intro or main cover screen. A lot of TH-camrs seem to do that when it comes to old retro games, & I don’t approve of that regardless of how old the game is, these old games have more imagination that most new ones & id love to keep it like that so thanks lol
I usually sleep about four to five hours a day between my night shifts. These compilation videos are the perfect length for me to sleep to. Idk what it is about videogame videos, they are better than melatonin for sleep
People say that emulation is bad... then they look at the 500 different game cartridges they have in boxes, and they say "Do I actually play all of these?"
Not to mention that their box contains 500 game roms. I love my OG hardware too, and the games I play on my PC I’ve purchased multiple times over, now I just play the emulator for a better gameplay experience (especially 3ds and N64) Maybe it would be different if I never bought any games, but I’ve been giving Nintendo, Sega, and Sony my money for 34 years anyway. I’ve bought OoT, FF7, MgS, and Mario 64 at least 5 times each.
As much as I always love a new game sack episode, and it's always been one of my absolute favourite channels - it's got such a nice and calming vibe, in addition to all the humour and retro goodness - i do miss dave sometimes. It'd be nice to have him back occasionally. Even without him it's still easily one of the best channels of its type, or in general, for that matter.
What a great thoroughly enjoyable gauntlet (which had too many console ports) thru history. Thanks for reuploading all these past episodes in a huge block.
Great news for Tecmo Knight fans!! Hamster Arcade Archives has officially released their legit ports of the no longer arcade exclusive from 34 years ago to PS4 and Switch! YES!!!! :D
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs has been playable on MAME since like 1999 or so (man I'm dating myself). Played through that so many times. That's another one absent from the Beat 'em Up bundle for some reason.
Willow is an excellent arcade game, I remember 1CC back at my local arcade, was a tough game, learning the time of the special power up move by holding down the button and releasing which special move u require, the pausing of time was my favourite special 😗😘😙😚 the film Willow was excellent too, u definitely need watch it too.
2:38:39 Without the RAMBUS terminated the Nintendo 64 Control Deck wouldn't boot your game software properly. The Jumper Pak, or I should say, Terminator Pak, terminates the RAMBUS to make the Nintendo 64 Control Deck boot the software properly.
Blood Bros. was in an restaurant at a place called "The Center" in Fairbanks, Alaska that no longer exists. Cabal was at a truck stop between Jonesboro, AR and Blytheville, AR about a year later.
I got my first arcade cabinet in '98, an American Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting cabinet. Over the years, I collected a number of Capcom CPS2 boards (in the low double-digits), but I ended up selling off all but three of them back in 2015 over fear of them suiciding; the three boards I kept I had Phoenixed so I won't have to worry about it any more. Last year, I was able to pick up a Japanese Sega Blast City cabinet. The monitor is amazing and is by far the best CRT I've ever seen.
Oh that's I remember 🎮back late 80s to 90s in one bowling alley arcade that close. But didn't remember the no name so thanks so much 😎 for run and gun shooter Psycho-Nics Oscar so I have fun with power up but yes it hard
Love the crunch videos, instead of having to search through playlists or depending on the randomness of TH-cam's auto play, I swear if I put any video game content on, the next video they put on will be season 16 of Avgn lol
Love the crunch idea! Left in the Arcade is one of my favorite episode series.
😉

I was so happy to see Dave in the last episode and it’s always good to see him in reruns.
Ya it was better with him on here. Wonder what he's doing now.
@@makaveli4205 his working hard at fedex while putting up with he’s wifey and kiddos
Well dang it, Dave needs to stop being such awesome dad and husband so he can get back to his real talent, mistreating Joe at the end of GS episodes.
Joe mistreats Dave it’s the other way around.
@@treedeblue No way, Dave deserves his beatings
My day has been horrible, so let's watch some Game Sack to get back in a good mood! Cheers Joe!!
hope you feel better : )
HAHA
Many blessings and good wishes to you @stelersteel and everyone who reads this! ❤🎉
Awesome stuff, Joe. Thanks once again for all your efforts in keeping this channel alive.
I forgot how great it was when Joe and Dave recorded reviews together, talking back and forth. It's so awesome we can watch all of these any time.
With a name like Wolfram you should set your greatness meter higher brah. Just saying.
wtf does that even mean @@J-D-P
Rlly? I've always thought they have an extremely awkward rapport.

Nothing at all wrong with emulation. Glad to see it. Not everyone can afford the money or space to collect, own, and keep every console and game. Great collection of episodes!
It's also a great means to preserve gaming history which in some instances would otherwise not be possible, particularly with Arcade games.
True, even if it's not going to be perfect in the long run.
I think people who hate emulation tend to be collectors who want to be "gatekeepers". maybe they get upset when they pay a fortune for a rare game and anybody can play it via emulation. 🤷🏻♂️

And with stuff like FPGA now, emulation can be pretty spot on. (I know most people don't consider FPGA emulation)

It's great to see Dave again, that man never age all these years
It's because he stopped doing game sack. Look at how old and beat up Joe looks these days 😅

Gamesack videos are entertaining, educational, and they help us preserve a bit of history. More people should appreciate this show.

3:11:08 Three? Don't you mean five? As far as I know, the JAMMA standard uses five buttons per player, as evidenced by the Atomiswave arcade board.
