What's your favorite flavor of ice cream? Mine is s'mores 🔥🍫
I am ashamed to admit this but I have always wanted to try s’mores. ONCE, I bought a summer special of a boxed package for creating s’mores from a local grocery store and then drove to pick-up my bags of food-when I got home, the one item which had been stolen was the s’mores special. TRUE story. But my fave ice cream flavour is coffee, y.u.m.
Hi Mary, if you love coffee flavor, you need to try Mayfield Espresso Chocolate chunk- it’s heavenly!
Coffee, mint, or just plain vanilla bean...but I have to say my first job was at my hometown DQ and that was the year they came out with the Blizzards. Our boss wanted us to try all the flavors so we could offer a real opinion on a flavor to our customers. I also was one of the A-team employees and made a gazillion Buster bars, Dilly Bars and the like. By the end of the day I'd come home reeking of the chocolate dip top and my chest would be covered in a splattering of ice cream from the Blizzard machine. To this day I am not a huge fan of chocolate or ice cream...very, very sad to say. But....when I do indulge those were my favorites. :) Although...I wonder how the s'mores with a little coffee kick to it would taste?
Lately I have been enjoying the DQ s'mores shakes. I can remember when the temps rise more people came in for ice cream and the school lunch hour rush. My high school had "open lunches" where the kids could eat out if they wanted. I only had two classes to complete in the morning my senior year so I would go from school to home to change and then I worked from 11 to 5 at DQ. It was fun making the ice cream treats and I was a pro and making my own curl (the hallmark of the DQ cone). ;)
I have many favorites, something Belgium chocolates, sometimes matcha green tea, sometimes Strawberry shortcake. Love them all.
Mint choc Chip, Caramel Swirl and Good old Clotted Cream.... 😋

I know what you mean about getting away for a break, just getting out of the building is calming, lol! One of the best things you are teaching your children by example is a strong work ethic. Loved working on the sidelines with you today! My step counter would've been at 200! 😂. I like watching the ice cream coming together like that and yes it is a nice "show" for the customer while they wait, which isn't long. My daughter works & delivers for a pizza place and she gets more than her share of ultra sassy customers. After 2 years it still bothers her. Comes with working with the public. I've been there too years ago. You worked hard today but you're always cordial and polite. Rest up!

The ice cream looks so delicious I have to say I’m so impressed at how clean you keep your shop. I’m one of those when I go anywhere to eat I scan the place to see if it’s clean and your ice cream shop is perfection! I’m exhausted watching lol I need a cup of coffee! Loved coming along P.s. Butter Pecan’s my favorite it looks to die for! ☺️

Hi 👋Renee, I Can relate when you said starting to wilt. I worked 2 jobs for 7 years, said the same phrase.. My fave has always been butter pecan. But boy that smores sure looked delicious😋. It's like you have 2 jobs with TH-cam, I give you lots of credit! Everything about your shop is adorable😍

Good Lord I'm tired watching you although I worked 12-hour shifts at the hospital three times a week and I wish I would have had that fit bud running up and down the hall, in any case you never seen the amaze me and you I always in such good spirit the ice cream shop will never be the same once you sell it but well deserved you're busy with other projects have a wonderful day
Your shop is unique (like you) I have not heard of rolled ice cream. Looks delicious and a workout for the arms. You and your staff are hard workers, thanks for showing us what is involved. Hope there are no more long shifts in your future.

I admire your endurance Renee! In retail, you always have a sassy customer. Years ago while working at Mervyns one was reallly sassy and grab a pair of scissors and thru them.....WOWZA! Soak your toes, relax in your jammies and sleep well! ♥

I really enjoyed this. Thank you. I'm really sorry you had sassy person. I have worked customer service my whole life. Just remember to breath. I had someone sass me for 30 minutes. The customer behind them told me to put up a big mirror behind me so they could see themselves. I did. Yes, it worked. I went home and just cried.

I have never had rolled ice cream. Looks good. My favorite ice cream is CHOCOLATE. I dont know how you worked those long hours. I have worked a double shift because somebody didn't show up. So it was about a 16 hour shift. We also had to do paper work. Don't miss those days. I love your shop and thank you so much for letting us come. You looked pretty good after all that work you did.

I'm retired from the railroad and there were times when I was ready to go home and would be forced to stay a second shift and still had to be back to work in the morning. Don't miss those 16 hour days at all.

You might wanna take a road trip this fall to her shop as it closes for the season soon and, since it is for sale, she may not own it this spring. I am sad that I live so far away to do a road trip. I'd have to do a vacation that includes flying.

Wow!! Never seen ice cream made that way. Where I live in Australia, you get a scoop of ice cream in a cone or cup from displayed tubs. Love how you pronounce pecan over there. So different to our pronunciation. 💕

I'm more of a sherbet person and gravitate towards citrus and berry flavors but when I eat ice cream, I love soft serve the most and love a twist cone of chocolate and vanilla. I wish we had an ice cream shop like yours in our neighborhood, where they roll curls. I'd probably would frequent it often. I love how you incorporate those little extra treats into your flavors.
Renee, looks like you have some dedicated employees there. Plus, it helps when the boss is willing to pitch in. My favorite ice cream is Huckleberry. Just got back from Montana. Maybe you could add that? Take a loooonnnnggg Judy tomorrow with dog snuggles. Awesome video.

Wow rolling ice cream who knew. I have never seen that before and wish I could get it around here where I live. Now I want some ice cream. Hopefully you will get a buyer for your shop and this will just be a memory
Oh i forgot to say but my favorite ice cream is Coffee. But I have never had rolled ice cream and you have such a variety of goodies to mash up and add to all your flavors i'd never want to leave there. And definitely would want to hurry back. And Smores definitely sounds yummy.
Enjoyed watching but wow, that's a really long day on your feet. I've never had rolled ice cream. Considering I'm in a different country I'll have to see if there's a place around me that makes it. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite, but that butter pecan and s'mores ...delish!
Way to go Renee, you work very hard. Today I walked 22,390 steps from Logrono to Navarrete in Northern Spain from 7:30 to 12:30 for a total of 15.85 kms. Met up some wonderful people, came upon others that I have met before, arrived at the plaza en Navarrete to have a typical Rioja salad completa w/a nice cold beer. The people are wonderful and the landscape is dotted with the most famous wines of Spain. I must admit though, watching you mixing all those delicious ice creams made me Crave the Curls 😁😆😊😋

I'm Debbie Glisson from Paducah KY! I noticed that your business is across the street from The Market House. Your business looks like where my grandfather Fox had a restaurant when I was about 7 or 8.
I used to cook my baby dolls hamburgers in the front window. I could go on and on about that building. Also my son ran a winery on the other side of the market house.
It's a small world. Glad I found you! Maybe I'll run into you sometime.

Oh wow Debbie!!! Hi! I don't know the history of the building other than there was an antique store in my space that had been there for about 20+ years. How cool is that knowing your grandfather had a restaurant there!!!
I just watched your video where you did your 30 day weigh in and discussed the challenges of your new food plan. I had to laugh when I saw this video. The #1 challenge for me would be owning and working in an ice cream store! I love how you curl the ice cream. We may have to plan a trip to Paducah. 🍨 🍦 🥤

Love your Craving the Curls decor! Ever consider hair nets or some sort of head coverings for servers? The gloves give a customer confidence in food handling but head coverings provide even more confidence. Some cute Craving the Curls hats and a pony tails for long hair would be a cute confidence builder 🙂

For some unknown reason, imma not Craving The Curls today but i AM craving pizza & ice cream … go figure! // and btw, my husband and I cruised the Mediterranean on a smallish sailboat during hippie years and guess what? Wherever we docked by Spanish towns, the women would sweep sidewalks right outside their properties-just like you did, Renee :) … 🍕 & 🍦
We vacation in Mexico during the winter. All of the local business owners there take so much pride in sweeping and cleaning the sidewalks in front of their stores. I love it! And that's where I learned it :)

I work at a currently understaffed ice cream shop, I end up working long days like this a lot since I generally love the job and I’m always available haha (this is completely by choice no one makes me do it)
