      I'm so sorry for your loss. There is something really relaxing and meditative about Graeme and his cows, isn't there?
      There's another channel I watch that I find complements The HGP and it's about the daily successes and foibles of a sheep farmer. She's amazingly honest and genuine, like Graeme. And like Graeme she loves her animals. And there's always the joy of bouncy lambs. Her name is Sandi Brock and her channel is Sheepishly Me. I think the two channels, together, are incredibly therapeutic. Maybe you only need HGP but I know I do better with both.

    We all love what you do, and rather cows appreciate your cause. Thank you.
    I think perspective makes this a small message.
    We look at millions of people who have subscribed, and we don't stop to think of how many people that is.
    Take 100 people. That's a large enough amount of people to fill an assembly hall.
    Now imagine 100 thousand people, that's a hundred halls all filled to the brim with people.
    The Hoof GP has over 1.74 million people alone who subscribed to see this amazing proccess, that's enough to be a whole city. This community is a civilization, not bound by the real world, who all love your content. Thank you for building this absolutely huge community who all love you. Take care.

  • @dogueacademy

    One of the reasons I love this channel is because you approach your cows' welfare the same way I approach animal behaviour. It doesn't have to be pretty or perfect. I believe training animals to modify their behaviour should serve a functional purpose. This is why I've been shifting my practice to eventually train animals for care purposes. Training a wolf to sit is frivolous; teaching it not to bite when I reach out to take its leg for blood work is vital. Husbandry training and hoof care should be mutually inclusive. Your view of animal care is fabulous; for this reason, I'm glad your channel exists. When I travel to the UK and Scotland next summer, I'll look you up and stop by to say Hi.

    • @stephanieellis5399
      @stephanieellis5399 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. Playing fetch is fun but not necessary. Teaching your dog to drop whatever is in their mouth could save their life. Is this what you mean? Not quite in the same league as the wolf example but maybe something "regular pet owners" should consider? Or have I completely misunderstood what you're saying?

    • @RICDirector
      @RICDirector ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope, youre dead on. I train mine similarly, even managing to remove foxtails from noses without anaesthesia. I admit, that was a special dog, and im a vet tech, but still.

    If you glued the block to Graeme's shoulder, it would stay there at most, 7-8 days as that's how long it would take for his outer layers of skin to slough off...
    And that's assuming he didn't accidentally (or on purpose) bash it against something and rip it (and a few layers of skin) off early...and if he DID accidentally bash it off early, I'm thinking he'd teach everyone near him a few new words and/or phrases that are not repeatable in Polite Company due to the sudden pain before slapping something clean on his now bleeding shoulder...

    Hiya Graeme. As requested, I'm saying hello. Been watching you for about 6 months now and enjoying listening to you and seeing the beautiful countryside around you. I spent a lot of my formative years in Lanarkshire, Hamilton, Blantyre, Shotts and specially Carstairs Junction where my playground was the Clyde, a massive overground sewer pipe and several wee burns where me and buddies fished for sticklebacks and hunted down frogspawn to watch it grow in a jam jar.
    There were cattle and sheep in the fields around my granny's house in Carstairs jct and I was lucky enough to see several calves and lambs and even a foal born.
    I'm 61 and live in worthing on the South Coast now, near Brighton. It's beautiful here too with the Downs to the north and the gorgeous pebble beaches to the south.
    At 61 I'm just old enough to remember when Lanarkshire roads were all red!
    Thanks for the wee films. Informative and entertaining. Hi to Craig to x

    Thank you for another great video! You are a blessing to the animals and their owners...thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Take care and stay safe! From the Seattle WA area. However, I do have Scottish roots - my dad was born in Bannockburn along with his sister and brother. They came to the USA around 1926, with my gran. Proud of my roots!,❤️🙏

    Hey Graeme! I’ve been laid up recovering from major surgery and I just wanted to say hello and thank you for all your videos. Your bedside (crushside?) manner has been much better than some of the doctors and nurses that I’ve dealt with. Lucky for me they don’t come near my toes.
    Anyways, just a big thank you from Michigan. PS: be nice to Craig, he seems like he’s grown a lot over the years in these videos and he deserves a lot of credit and respect. If you had merch with Craig on it, I’d buy it certainly.
    Much love to the Hoof GP!!

    You should see some of the stuff my dad used to try to put in my mum's washer! Holy moly… she threw a fit one day when she went to do the bedding and her washer was full of mud, Muck and cow poop from Dad's clothes after working the cattle with my grandpa and uncle… they had been treating all the cows with anti-parasite dip, cutting the testicles off all of the new male calves and doing whatever else they needed to have done to them… I heard my mum curse for the very first time in my life that day… this is something that she just didn’t do… even today I rarely ever hear a curse word from her but that day I learned a few new words lol… she got a brand new washer and dryer too… I still can’t believe my dad thought the washer could clean all that gunk off his clothes lol… Mum said she didn’t care how well he cleaned it out… there was always going to be that "smell" when she opened the lid…so, dad went and bought her a new washer and dryer set and the old set went out into the milk barn…
