I'm getting ready to do my first batch of pears and I wanted an easy spicy pear recipe! This is it! Great job!

I've never canned spiced pears before. They sure look good. I'm going to get some this weekend and put them on my shelf. I wonder how the left over syrup would be if I used it to can some carrots. The hint of pear in there with the carrots sounds good to me for some reason. I might have to give that a try too. Great video. Thanks for sharing it.

Monna, What an Idea. I did have some leftover syrup mixture but didn't think to use it elsewhere, let alone adding it to carrots. That might be an interesting combination. Thanks for Watching!

Beautifully done, I learned a great deal from your presentation. I'm getting set up to can 36 pears. I'm so excited to do your method of spicing the pears. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you.

HOW yummy looking! I just did a double batch. Will be super nice for Christmas! Thank you! Now....question. I have a LOT of the liquid left over. Could I go ahead and use that liquid and do the same with apples? I'm thinking I could...
Ok so update...I used the extra sugar and spice mixture to process some Buttercup squash I had to yet process. I have it in the pressure canner currently so I hope it works out ok! I still had about a cup of the mixture left over after canning the squash so in the oven it went with some pork chops. I hate wasting. It's all used up now.

DELICIOUS! New to canning. So, you no de-bubbling needed? TYFS

Darcie D, Absolutely de-bubbling is needed, however I did notice there was no trapped air in these jars. The chunks of pears were very large (1/4 of a pear) and it would have been easy to spot air pockets. I think I have been canning too long, I do things by instinct a lot, I never measure head space either, just eye-ball it and almost never have jars that don't seal. Thanks for Watching!

Hi, thank you for your spiced pear video. I can't wait to try these. I am just wondering how long I would boil the jars for when they are full and in the canner. Also do I need to have them at a certain temperature? Thank you.
