What makes Blaney a really cool guy is that he sometimes goes on Twitter asking to come join him at a local bar/restaurant near the track to have some drinks and have fun with the fans. Don't see much drivers doing something like that.
Sounds like Dale Sr. Just his genuine interactions with fans. He knew how much that kind of thing meant to the fans. Big part of the reason he's still remembered 18 years later, golly 18 years. Seems like just yesterday. Number 3 on the track, number 1 in our hearts.

Yup .... I've been looking for someone to cheer on the last few years and Blaney is my man now .... He's got it all .... drives a Ford ..... his number is my lucky number (12) and he's a good guy and a good driver. Needs to get a win though .....

I love hearing story's like that and any story's about your Dad. He was not related nor did I even meet him but when he died I cried like he was family. Love the podcast Dale Jr
I think that Winston Cup banquet that Dale Sr had a black cast on his wrist and hand was in 1990. The story was at the time (if I remember correctly) was that he fell from a tree stand while hunting. But now Dale Jr spilled the beans and the truth is out. Awesome story :o)
I broke my right hand on another guys face in hockey, my pinky knuckle & ring finger knuckle are pushed back & it’s just flat there now. I guess us Dale’s must be tough lol.
The "farm manager guy", his name was Bobby Ellenberg, my dad. His side of the story was as follows. That man was the diesel mechanic that serviced the Caterpillar front end loader. He was there at least once a month. Mr. Earnhardt and my dad totally trusted the man enough to where as I recall he had a key to the front gate, so that when he was going to be later than us leaving, he could let his self out and lock the front gate. The day of this awful incident was on a Sunday. Dale was in town but at his house (over on Lake Norman). My dad (Bobby), was at the poultry house and heard the report from the gun shot. He could tell it was close so he jumped in the truck and rode over to the power lines and seen that it was a buck that Dale had a real attachment too. (Folks I myself have seen this beautiful buck walk up to Dale in his truck and eat out of his hand) , so dad knew he (Dale) was gonna be PISSED!! Well dad calls Dale and told him what happened and Dale made a 30 minute drive in 10-15. When Dale got there he told dad that they (the poachers) would be back so they hid in the tree line and waited and sure enough about dark here they came. Climbed the fence and were walking down the power lines towards the buck when Dale told them to stop , dad said they (there was 2 when they came back) , took off running and that Dale was on that guy in no time. He (dad) said he was giving this guy a proper beat down when suddenly Dale realized it was the mechanic. Dad said when Dale did see who it actually was he went ballistic and dad told him stop you gonna kill him. ( That's when he stopped). Said Dale told him to go to the farm shop and call the game warden . Dad said he thought about it and said no your coming with me , I'm not leaving you and him alone down here. ( For a good reason). So they get up to the shop and call the game warden and the rest of the story was took place in court. As for the other guy (poacher) , he got away that day ( somewhat). Dad said he got to the woods , and dad said that fella was breaking what sounded like some awful big limbs as he was running , he had to be taking a beating himself . Said he could hear him in the distance ( oh ,unhh, just beating the crap out of himself). As a side note that mechanic came to our house 2 Sundays later to talk. ( You ask me he was just trying to save face because he took an ass whoopin) And man was that head knotted up!! As another side note he was a member of our community out in Mt.Ulla. That man brought a lot of shame to his family. That was a hot topic among the gossips for a while. His partner in poaching was his daughters boyfriend whom I went to school with previously. I was 18 years old got a ticket for 110 MPH in a twenty five. 👀. The good news was I won the race!!!
We use to do that didn't call it mailbox baseball but one tome this old man took a large mailbox and filled it with concrete then pushed a smaller box inside when I hit that mailbox the bat broke and my hands were numb for a week, never hit another mailbox every again.
Dale sr was a guy you didn't mess with off the track either
This is the most I have ever heard Ryan Blaney talk.
First time I seen Dale he had a big ole handle bar mustache. Thought dang thats cool 😎
I have to say, Dale Jr's stories are better than his driving. Really cool
Always gotta be one!!! You might as well be the one.
Cops racing hat is awesome!
I miss your Dad, he was a lot a fun
I use to love watching nascar, then it was more and more rules and less racing, then changed the point system and ruined the sport as far as I'm concerned
The hat is so cool back in day Hal Needham team never sold many of them hats at the track
a.d.d. here, but where did he get that Bobby Allison T-Bird!? lol
Check Ebay my dude
Ryan "the most interesting person in the world " Blaney!!!!
LoL Dale Jr is talking about my childhood, dude I know hit a box but he didn't know it was cemented in the ground I laughed til I 🤢 puked broke him if doing that 😂😂😂😂
Where can I find Dale Jr's hat in this episode? Couldn't find it in the JR Nation store.
Awesome stories ! There has to be more ?
I'm from Dublin Ireland and NASCAR need's to help us fan's that are not in the USA follow the sport More I have a few idea's.
They need to have foreign exhibition races again!
@@deletedaccount966 NASCAR was on TV here up until a few year's ago. I got into NASCAR when JUAN PABLO MONTOYA went there from F1 and I got into it and then they stopped showing it there are fans in Ireland and I keep hearing them say want more Fan's and they forget there is fans outside the USA.
@Louis How bout cool it with publicly correcting every typo of Johnny's or anyone elses.. it may be his autocorrect and lack of desire to fix it back after it does it's thing instead of his lack of intelligence like your replies seems to imply. That definitely doesn't show a welcoming spirit to those on the outside or potential fans. Plus, some people just don't care about perfect grammar on social media sites.
@@deletedaccount966 grow up
@@dixiehandyman I'm the grown up here, correcting everybody's poor English, not even my native language.
But thanks for putting me on the spotlight once again but try to focus on yourself instead. Muted
Damn good stories
I miss the good old days of racing I was at the Glenn in 88 been there 10 times more an passed on to my girls
I got me a speeding ticket for doublethe speed limit on my BRAND NEW street legal dirt bike, somehow dad found out( when you know all the cops its not hard) REFUSED to help me with court, but NEVER TOLD MOM! We got 4cylinder race cars the day i finished with court! Still have the race car and the bike, but no longer have my dad😭 and would give it all up just to tell him thank you!
How am I just now learning this podcast exists
You've got some catching up to do.
@@DirtyMoMedia that's right.. especially last years start of reading promos! 🤣
I never thought I would ever like anything or do nothing... Then I saw Dale senior win the daytona 500!!
Harvick and Blaney are my favorites
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.... that is what every American man should be....
His dad is one of the greatest diet track racers and he's sitting with Dale fucking Jr! Your life is pretty good Ryan
The Burt and Hal's Skoal Bandit hat has made me a Ryan Blaney fan. Any kid today that shows respect for Harry Gant and that era, deserves respect himself.
"over 100?" "no, it was 93 in a 45" "that's bad" what a setup
I've heard that story before
Dale do DEI 21st anniversary of cup series bring your old DEI team mates Steve Park Mike Waltrip Kenny Wallace John Andretti Jeff Green Jason Keller Martin Truex Jr. Paul Menard Aric Almirola Mark Martin and Regan Smith on podcast.
I would like Steve Park and Michael Waltrip
@@chasee3797 same here.
From what I've heard about Teresa she would probably sue lol
Go Blaney GO!!!!! Jr was my driver for 19 years. Now Blaney is my guy.
My hat found a good home, thanks Ryan. 🏁

Jr is soooo smoothe
