Thanks for joining me for more guitar restoration videos! This is a Thumb Byrdland 1986 from Terada Musical Co. Japan. I'll fix the cracked neck heel in this video.

Suction cups work really well for pumping glue into cracks, courtesy of Twoodfrd, luthier extraordinaire!😊
Thanks Scott, Don here from Hamilton NZ, I learn alot from your detailed videos, sincere thanks 😊😊😊

Outstanding service.... yet again! Nice work, Mr. Scott!! 🖖😊
Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing this how to repair. Great as usual.
Definitely takes money to make money. Nice job. 👍
You got that right!
Plastic food packaging works well for pushind glue into fine cracks.
Surprised that Gibson didn’t sue them for the name. The hardware looks very good on that and the headstock design is neat. Japan makes fine instruments but they had a shaky start in the ‘60’s. A lot of their stuff was very quirky. I am thinking that the strap button in that area might trigger the crack; I’ve seen it happen before. As always this is a top notch repair, dear sir!
Right on!👍🏻
Well done!
Very cool repair. You really go the extra mile to make these repairs seamless 😊

@@harpethguitar Thank you, my friend, I have notifications turned on for your channel and I never miss one of your good videos.
Another fine repair job. Looks great again.
Wow, thanks
How does such a crack develop? Was I playing seesaw about 400 times too often - ie, stand on the headstock, the other foot on the back binding, or maybe standing tippy-toes on the strap button? Or maybe I was paddling down the river, holding the neck and headstock in two hands, and digging deep into the river?
I thought it was a one-time mishap crack, too, but it's so small and so evenly placed, I think thinking it's an "over a long time, stresses broke it."
Iron Maiden? Right on!
That’s Right!
