I saw you for the first time yesterday and watched that video because I had never actually seen how a Tesla works and how the Full Self-Driving autopilot function works. I was speechless. Today, I watched this video and I'm still speechless it seems like the car is constantly improving its driving. It's incredible.
@@TeodoroGigante Thamk you so much Teodoro! Yes Tesla FSD is amazing! I look forward to showing you even more of its capabilities. And thank you for watching and commenting! And hopefully subscribing too! ❤️🫶
You found FSD at a time when Tesla finally found what works, End to End Neural Nets. In other words the computer trained itself watching clips of safe drivers. It’s even more phenomenal if you’ve seen how it was with V10 and it’ll only get better with more videos to train it.
JC, Merry Christmas! Thank you for another excellent video. I wanted to share an experience I had today while driving with FSD. It actually saved me from a potential sideswipe. I noticed a car drifting into my lane, so I sat back and let my Tesla take over. Hats off to the Tesla team! Great vehicle. The best part is that I was able to save a dashcam clip of the incident.
Merry Christmas to you too! And OMG! That’s great to hear that you are safe and that Tesla FSD was so good, but also feel bad for you to have to experience it like that. Yeah, one thing you will notice the more you drive with FSD, is just how awful folks are on the road. And I don't mean just a little bit awful, I mean alot! And they don't even realize it about themselves. Let me know if you want to discuss anything in your dashcam clip once you have it secured, I would be happy to. Merry Christmas!!! ❤️
That's great! Had a similar experience on our 400 mile roundtrip journey for our family Christmas party. We were on the way north on I5, and a reckless driver came flying up in the middle lane behind me, trying to get around a vehicle that was closing in on me in the fast lane to my left. This yoho didn't think the guy in the fast lane was going fast enough, so he moved into my lane, approached the back of my car at more than 40 over the speed limit, and tried to squeeze between my car and the car in the fast lane that was roughly in my blind spot. There wasn't room, and he was going to hit us in the left rear end at high speed, but FSD saw room in the slowest lane and jumped over there last moment to avoid the hit and the guy squeezed through with inches to spare as we moved over suddenly.
FSD is much more smooth then ASS in parking lots. I think ASS is trained Seperately. I wonder if ASS is coded or end to end. Only TeslaAI can answer. Great video by the way.👍
A.S.S. is part of the Full Self Drive suite and not a separate trained component. However, you are correct that they put governors on it that are not present with a supervisor in the driver's seat. Obviously these governors will eventually be taken away, as this is the first iteration of robotaxi. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Merry Christmas JC. Another excellent video. Thank you for the Smart Summons. Always fun to watch the expressions and hear the comments. The look on the couple in the second clip was priceless and hysterical. The car had more patience than I would have on the 3rd clip!! And I loved some of the subtle human-like maneuvers and avoidance it did with Smart Summons. I'm a Speech Language Pathologist and work in Home Health care, assisted living, etc. and I see some heartbreaking situations where my patients can't drive anymore and are stuck in their home. Spouse has passed away, kids are out of town. That Robo Taxi would be so beneficial for them. FSD is really getting ready to open up a world to a group of forgotten individuals! One of the reasons I really like watching your videos is they are real time and you go to places that normal people would go! Thank you again for the Smart Summons clips, I just enjoy watching them! Love to you and your family over the holidays!
Thank you so much Ann! I don’t even know what to say, this is so sweet. But thank YOU for everything you’re doing! You are one of the REAL heroes helping the most vulnerable of our broader family. And I totally agree, the folks that you have dedicated your life’s work to are a big reason I do this, as I know in my heart it can change their lives and make them more independent. And I will definitely do more summon just for you! I know I’m just a retired goofball driving my car around town with a GoPro in my face, but messages like this really bring home whole are doing this for. Merry Christmas Ann! ❤️
I know, right! I am so impressed by the capabilities now! This will one day be fully autonomous and give many people independence that they may not have had before. We aren’t there yet. But we will get there! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Happy holidays! I like the framing of your video. I have a M3P (HW4) in stealth gray with FSD and live in the west part of Houston metro area. Maybe we'll meet somewhere someday.
Hey JC, do you think you could move the selfie camera up a little bit more so we can see more of the back window since we don't have any rear view. Just need to angle the camera up more if you want to try it out 👍
@@SkullEZClap No problem. I actually crop that picture so it just has my beautiful face in it. Are you saying you would like to see less of my face??? Blocked!!! 🤣
Good video! But we see a lot videos FSD driving. Now we need to see different scenarios like if driver faint suddenly for health reasons ,is the Tesla pull over on the side of the road safety or not or some other scenario like FSD drive and a pedestrian is on side walk curb and extend the leg what Tesla will do in this case .
It would react to both. Much like the iPhone, once it doesn’t see your eyes,it will quickly go from flagging you to pay attention to pull over safely to a stop. As far as the leg, the reaction time will be equal or better than a human because the camera will see the pedestrian body position as an obstruction and a human. As a matter of fact, if it sees a pedestrian near the actual driving path, it will slow down a bit regardless, as a caution of a last minute surprise. The technology (at this stage at least) is the least threat to a human. The software has come a loooooooong way, and when they went from sensors to cameras + AI, it now mimics the safest human driver 99.9% of the time, and that .01% is no more of a threat to the roads as any normal, human-driver scenario, which is why it’s still Supervised FSD.
I would love to! But it is currently scheduled for January 11th and I may not be back from Wichita, Kansas by then. I am driving up to Wichita with my wife in early January.
hey JC, have u had any issues with "No turn on red" signs? I was testing v13.2.2 tonight and it tried to turn right on red when the "no turn on red" sign was present. had this happen twice and had to intervene. also, had this happen to me on v12 as well. seems like FSD cannot read that sign. other than that v13 has been great.
@@anon-r9q1111 Interesting! Here in Texas I’m not aware of many places like that. There are none where I live or where I travel to in Houston. But FSD should be good with all state and local traffic laws. If it keeps doing that I would report to Tesla with the push button microphone in the Tesla. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@johnchristopher7697 yup i gotta remember to report it. sometimes i get flustered by having to intervene and forget to report it. good news is, i've done some research on this issue and im not the only one. hopefully tesla AI can work on this. have no doubts they eventually will. if i encounter another "no turn on red" sign i might just disengage FSD until the light turns green. thanks for your insight as always
Does a Tesla make a pedestrian sound when traveling at low speed? I've heard a reverse sound from them which sound like an alien ship, but I don't think I've heard anything when moving forward. I have a hybrid that makes a sound when traveling below 25 with the engine off.
Why don't you ask your wife and son to have Tesla? If they have too i think it will be difficult to get all charged, and you need another station for charging all the Teslas at once 🤔🚗⚡️, BTW nice videos and your commentary makes more interesting to watch whole hour videos.
Thank you for the kind words! And yes, each of their next cars will be Teslas. And we have plenty of outlets in my garage for charging. And my son doesn't live with us, he is just here for the holidays. If I had multiple Teslas I would go ahead and install a couple of 240V home chargers, they aren't that expensive. But with just me right now I am good with the 110V regular outlet. And with my electricity costs at $0.08/kWh, I really want to get them out of their gas vehicles as soon as I can 🤣
After engaging FSD and trying to adjust the speed slightly, it wants to take me to 80mph, so I have to scroll down quickly. Do you know what setting I may have out of sorts?
If you have it on automatic set speed offset with v13 it should select the proper speed for you. I haven’t had this issue on any versions though. Have you contacted Tesla Service?
