GREAT video Delali ! Thanks for the tear-down so we could see the build quality inside. I really like how you experimented with the different "gears" and Nickle thicknesses. Liked and subscribed boss!

Thank you for the nice review. On a separate note, you know that the strips included are not pure nickel but "nickel-plated iron core" as they jump in 00:08:09 to the magnetic field created in the wires when firing the welder. The problem with those is that with time, they rust and break apart.
Thanks for the insight. I'd keep an eye out to not order those types anymore.
Which ones do you propose i use?
Your observation was very keen. How nice 🙂.
Thanks I'll pay attention to it when i weld
Valuable insight on listings selling nickel *plated* strips instead of actual nickel strips.
However, nickel is a ferromagnetic metal and is also attracted by magnetic fields so the fact that these strips are attracted to the wires when current is flowing does not imply they are not pure nickel.
Buddy, you've made an excellent video and clearly shown how well this welder works with real life examples of welding the strips together. Keep up the great work.
I'm happy you liked the video.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave this comment. Much appreciated.

Very useful . Thx.
Btw , the biffrc has no display but has the same board, sounds and one button configuration on the back. I suspect one is "lending" the basis of this device to another...
I noticed this too. There are types like mine but without the screen out there. I figured the one in this video might be more recent. Just a guess tho.

Great video! One question though, when you put the level (let's say) to 7, and the battery starts to discharge after some welds, will the level 7 power continue being the same? Or I will have to put it to a higher level for the same result?
Great question!
I believe in the time I've used it, It welds well even when the battery discharges. I honestly haven't used it to a low voltage say 40% or below. I've done 50% before however and it worked fine
It's my honor that I clicked 1000th like haha. This video helps me a lot :) Thank you very much for your effort on this. Perfect instruction!

great review. i bought one nd it works great on the 0.12mm plate it comes with bt its doing nothing for the 0.15mm plate i have at home.

Have you tried ramping up the gear/power to say 15?

good work, love your way of describing the tool and all the background information you give. Thank you
You're very welcome!
Thanks for the kind words.
i have received my spot welder today, it was a docreate brand even though the product description and photos said BIFRC, unfortunatly a mosfet burnt on first 5 welds on first gear, i was testing it on the nickel plated strips included in the product, now the output is always one even when the device is off, and it doesn't pulse the output it's just connected straight to the battery now, it might have been a fluke and others might have better luck but the soldering inside is quite shoddy there are solder blobs on one of the mosfets, the mosfets should've been able to handle the current since they're rated for 320A contunious and 1200A pulsed, but maybe they're fake which would explain the short life span. i don't know if i can recommend it seeing how fast it destroyed itself on the lowest power setting atleast for the docreate brand ones maybe the BIFRC brand ones have higher quality mosfets, the pcb was similar but with different mosfets and controller ic, the mosfets on mine were G011N04 instead of the 4N04R8 but also have 320A cont. 1200A pulsed rating but maybe much lower quality....
Sorry about yours not working.
I noticed some manufacturers are flooding the market with inferior spot welders. You may have bought one of those.
Did you order from the link in my descriptions? or you bought from elsewhere?
nice video, i have one question:
can it weld steal/iron etc strips too right? - or temperature enough only for nickel metal
Thanks for the kind words fam.
I cant say for sure if it can do Steal/Iron. I haven't tried that.
@@Delali usually its easier to weld nickel plated steel strips than pure nickel strips so it should be able to weld them fine
Thanks Fam. Would this spot 0.3 on to button battery?
I guess nobody needs to work with 0.2 or 0.3mm
You're welcome fam.
I believe it can spot weld 0.3 unto a button battery, but the battery may get a little warm. At gear 15 for 0.2, there's some amount of heat as seen at 7:01
So I imagine gear 20 or so for 0.3 may get even warmer. Why not use 0.15 at gear 5 for safety?

Excellent review! I like your wiha set. What model it is exactly?
I believe its called Wiha Mijia 24 set.
Thanks for the review. Allow me to ask you a question. Did your spot welder start working correctly out of the box or did you modify it to make it this powerful? I tried the link you have in the description and the brand name is no longer BIFRC but MINDER RC. The minder DH30 max has a terrible review here on YT. And, how many spot welds can you make on a fully charged battery? Thanks
Thanks for the kind words.
The welder worked straight out of the box. As you can see from the video, i havent made any modifications to it. Everything is as it was when it arrived. The battery was a little low, so i charged it before filming. Thats all i did off camera.
I believe the porpularity of mini/portable spot welders like this has led to flooding of the market with inferior copies and as such led to people having bad experiences with their purchases.
I made a total of about 66 spot welds in making this video. I havent tried spot welding for long hours to test the total welds before the battery runs out. I usually just use this spot welder for small battery projects i work on.
@@Delali Thanks for your time and your response. I'm going to order one now.
I ordered one from the link above and it came from MINDER RC. PCB board inside looks different and it has way less power than the one shown in the video...I cannot weld the 0.12 nichel even with gear 30...
Good demonstration. May I ask, does the battery changeable?
I believe you can change the battery if you can find one of the same size and capacity
Hello, I need ver.2.84 software for this product. Where can I find it?
Great review. Are you using nickel plated or pure nickel straps. Thanks.
I'm going to check right away and let you know.
Nickel plated. According to the supplier I ordered from.
@@Delali Is it Copper plated Nickel ?
Cam you tell what link where u bought that mini spot weld
Please see the link below:
s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeLMtm1
Nice presentation. Can it spot weld thin copper sheets ?
Honestly I'm not sure. I havent tried copper sheets yet.
Did you found out where that option that you cut out from the video was for? “Trigger value”
I'm not sure there is a "trigger value" in the video...can you please point out where it is perhaps?
How many 18650 batteries would it take to run this? Would 10 X 20A 18650s run it?
I cant say for sure as I haven't tried it but I dont see why it shouldn't work.
Also remember if you use bigger batteries capacities, it might take longer to charge the battery as well.
I could not work 0.2t with it. Is there some KNOW-HOW? Mine is enough for 0.12t and 0.15t.What is your opinion?
which type of spot welder do you have ? is it the same as mine?
@@Delali Same one.
@@Delali DH30
i buy the same one. what is the ( trigger value ) mean? It go from 25 up to 50
Trigger value might be the pulse duration. Not sure which spot welder you have but it should go from 1 - 30 if you have what i had in the video.
@@Delali yes it's same as yours . It just I have update it with new firmware software 18-5-2022.bin . And many future including ( trigger value appearing from 25 up to 50 ).
Just be careful when you update it not do the 8-2022 because it may crash your machine for ever .
compared to the brand (DX10) which one is more recommended
I believe the DX10 might be a little bit better looking at its specs.
However, i havent used the DX10 before so i cant say for sure.
Hi there. Great review thanks. My unit says I need to update the firmware. Any ideas how to do that?
Not sure why you need an update on first use.
Here's a video i found of how someone reset their unit. th-cam.com/video/3Aom7YcLLd8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=MinderRCSpotWelder
Please let me know if it helps.
Hi. Do you think this type of spot welders will work on joining delicate pieces of gold or silver jewellery that you wouldn't be able to use a torch flame on because it's near a stone or fear of melting?
Thanks
I think it can work. However you'd have to be very causcious of what gear you use.
You could melt your work piece if the the gear is too high. The trick will be to experiment to find the best gear before trying the actual work piece.
is it equipped with a 12v battery or a 3.7v battery?
Two large 3.7v LiPo batteries.
Great review. How much is the unit?
USD 39 with USD 11 shipping
Excellent product how much price
Please check the link below for the current price listing
s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DFINS8p
The charger adds $2.05 to the price. That seems scarily cheap! Is it going to randomly catch on fire?
I'm not sure it will. Sometimes manufacturers price things like that to make sure the package with charger looks much appealing and economically sound.
by the way. i have been using the charger regularly for other uses and it still works.
how long charging time,
I'd say about 2-3 hours if i use its charger or my apple 30 Watts brick.
Where to buy tell me the outlet?
Please check the description of this video...Link to all parts used in this video is in there.
You did not test using a 0.2 Nickle Plate
Unfortunately i didnt have a 0.2mm at the time. However i have one now.
I will put up another short video soon.

Btw very nice video!
Sorry about your challenge. please did you buy from the link included in this video description?
I ask because i noticed AliExpress and other market places have been flooded with fake versions of this spot welder.

sure.
Happy new year fam. Cheers!!
I don't use a spot welder because I can't afford to have one
Sorry to hear that.
Do you need a spot welder? and for what specifically?
What's a shame about this device is that it wont charge with all the new USB-C PD chargers. It will only charge with old USB-A chargers. :(
Perhaps they might revise it in the future and make it Type-C only.
paid/compensated review. anyone wonder why he didn't try .2mm or even higher? just about any of the china cheap welders can do what he demonstrated
I’m wondering how many viewers you’ve pushed away just by your comment.
Even though deleting your comment seems like a good idea, i’d just show you some respect by replying.
I bought this spot welder with my own hard earned money after coming across it on AliExpress. I couldn’t do 0.2mm spot weld because the nickel stripe I taught was 0.2 turned out to be lower. But at the time of making the video, it was too late for me to wait another three weeks for 0.2mm.
Any tool or equipment you see on this channel is most likely something I researched, chose and bought for my personal use but ended up using in my videos. Others were recommended by folks on forums and groups I belong to. None of my equipments are sponsored at the moment.
Anyways I hope you’re feeling better now.
@@Delali Don't worry about him. I reckon 99% of viewers are really happy about the content you published.I just bought the unit with a bigger battery. Thanks for your effort and well done.
