  • Valmiki Ramayana’s evidence points to 12209 BCE as the year of Rama-Ravana Yuddha. However, researchers are still uncertain about the exact location of Ravana’s Lanka. What could be the cause of this confusion and is there evidence to resolve this uncertainty? Nilesh Oak discusses evidence of the last 14000+ years from Valmiki Ramayana, Mahabharata, Geography, Oceanography & Astronomy.
    About the Speaker:
Nilesh Oak is an author, researcher, speaker, and a faculty at the Instt of Advanced Sciences in Dartmouth, U.S.A. He has written on Bhishma Nirvana, Ram-Ravan yuddh, and the timeline of Mahabharat. His writings on Indian civilizational history are based on scientific research and evidence-based reasoning

One thing to put on here!
Yugas are actually the measurement of the galactic timeline ! As all seasons have their own characteristics & timeline same with the yugas, it's scientific totally, let me tell, this time is the transitional period for the beginning of new chaturyuga or simply the the kaliyuga's final phase of 28th chaturyuga.
So see, first of all we need to understand that,
[(1 year of Devas = 360 Human Years) note:- time is different at different parts of the universe, and 'Devas' are the higher level of conscious entity than us, they have subtle bodies, not physical & it can be attained by us too if we go in deep through immense penance, because Devas belong to metaphysical world)
    So,
    Satya Yuga: 4800 divine years
= 17,28,000 human years (Four times of Kaliyuga)
    Treta Yuga: 3600 divine years
= 12,96,000 human years (Thrice of Kaliyuga)
    Dwapara Yuga: 2400 divine years
= 8,64,000 human years (Twice of Kaliyuga)
    Kaliyuga: 1200 divine years
    = 4,32,000 human years
This is the fact!! Also, let me tell if we converted 12 hrs of day into deciseconds then, it's result comes 4,32,000 deci-seconds.
So, it can be understood that all these things are as accurated practically the way they are mentioned, it's the measurement of time. In addition, we all should know that, Actually, there's a miscalculation in the age of yugas. (Please read it all till end)
This is the reason why 'Bhavishyamalika' written around 500 years old by Mahapurush Achutanand (all predictions done in 'Bhavishyamalika' is happening every year) & several other Future predictors like Sant Ravidas, Nostradamus, Jay Gurudev including several foreign future pedictors; everyone pointing towards a same point about the ending of Kaliyuga with a great devastation, as it is happening also no doubt about it, with stating the arrival of Lord Kalki for the beginning of Satya Yuga.
(Note: the predictions of all those astrologers are coming true, each event)
So, it's not only about predictions, there are plenty of proofs about it too.
As we all know, Dwarika City was built by Almighty Lord Krishna at the end of Dwapara Yuga ( in order to protect his people from the attack of 'Jarasandh') which is found to be much much older, from radio carbon dating of the submerged city by the archeological team it has been found that, the remains of Dwarika city are 32,000 years & even older including some structures of the city is 200,000 to 400,000 years old which is exactly the time period of Kaliyuga (4,32,000 years)
(Note:- these findings are done in just initial phases there's still a lot more to find there, chances of finding even more ancient structures after further deep excavation in it) So, if we add up:
32,000+400,000 it comes up 432,000 years it's the total age of Kaliyuga that's why from these proofs it clearly indicates the Kaliyuga is in it's final phase & we are on the transformation period for the beginning of Satya Yuga also called as 'Sangam Yuga'
Now, some people may argue by giving astronomical preferences "No, it was happened around 5000, 6000 years ago" some even say 3000 years old being in dillema so for those people: See, the same astronimical arrangements are aligned at the same positions every 5,000/10,000 years so everybody must try to understand these stuffs more deeply.
So, Dwapara Yuga ended 432,000 years ago as according to these scientific proofs, this is the reason why we aren't getting the remains of any kingdom of that period because several external factors with natural calamities played a role for the complete loss of those remains.
The dates & the dynasties that ruled between the time period of King JANMEJAYA (Son Of King Parikshit, who did Nagdahan Yagnya) and his descendants to the age of Gautam Buddha (Pre - Bouddha Age) is still in dark, the political situations, events between this period isn't revealed till now cause, there's a gap of vast timeline.
So, there's a miscalculation in the actual age passed of Kaliyuga, lot of disasters happened in this vast timeline of 4,32000 years, that's why they forgot the actual starting date of kaliyuga & it's age since then, from 5000 back they again started it's counting from the beginning so, that's the main reason why there's always a debate about the time period of Mahabharata war, if kaliyuga was started just 5000 years ago from now then why Dwarika City built by Lord Krishna at the end of Dwapara Yuga is more than 32,000 years old and some structures of Dwarika City are even
100,000 - 400,000 years old, this is the question so, factfully if we look this is the transitional phase for the beginning of full Satya Yuga , same scenarios are around us like; crime will be common at the final phase of kaliyuga, nature will be completely ruined out by humans, as we know nowadays our oceans are full of plastic, just think of it how much our nature can resist it & how much worst things are left still fo be done additionally, girls are now impregnant in just seven/ten years old as mentioned in 'Srimad Bhagwatam, Bhavishyapuran, these cases are lot more than imagined. Additionally, Mughals, Britishers tried their best to destroy the existence of Sanatan Dharma at one period of time, that period was full of cruelty, slavery, miseries, injustice and so on
that's everyone familiar within! Secondly, the consequences, age of humans during the final phase of kaliyuga was written at the end of Dwapara, it was all written as according to the age limit of people belonging to Dwapara yuga because at that time, the age limit of a human was 1000 years that's 10 times of present age limit of humans .i.e. 100 years.
So, age of 100 years old guy of Kaliyug is is equivalent to the 1000 years old guy of Dwapara.
As according to the time limit of Dwapar Yuga, the age of 12 years guy is 10 times of it in Kaliyuga that comes 120 years & as per scriptures, the maximum age of humans will be 12 years at the final phase of Kaliyuga (means as we know 100 years aged guy of Kaliyuga equivalent to 1000 years aged guy of dwapara so, 12 years guy as per dwapara timeline is 120 years of Kaliyuga) So, now it's obvious that 12 years is max human age depicted in scriptures with respective of dwapara age limit is actually 120 years from above calculation and yeah in this last phase, a normal person can live upto 120 years of life only of he/she follows a disciplined way of life along with practice of yoga, pranayama, right diet plan otherwise it seems almost impossible to live upto actual time limit of this phase also.
Similarly, human height will be much smaller at the very end of Kaliyuga as prefered in 'Srimad Bhagwatam' the average height of humans will be of about '3 Hatha' that means 5'5'' this is an indeed an average height of humans worldwide if we calculated the average. ( Note:- It should also be remembered that, height was mentioned in scriptures as per the height of human possess during dwapara yuga, the average height of people during dwapara used to be 12/12.5 feet and on the basis of the physique of that time, height of people in final phase of kaliyuga was calculated which they referred as '3 hathas' as according to the size of hands of people of that time not this time.)
So, these all informations & facts clearly points out that we're in very near for the beginning of new satya yuga of 29th chaturyug, it's an actual fact in addition if we take some scientific preference also, the poles movement of earth that happens on each 432,000 years & it's happening in this present time by changing it's position from Canada to Siberia, Russia which clearly points out on the same thing.
Most importantly, "The main reason of every people being in dilemma about Kaliyuga's age is the carelessness of all scholars, pandits"
As, all the Pandits and other scholars recited the same quote every year "Kaliyuge Pratham Charane, Kaliyuge Pratham Charane" and forgot about it's counting in this vast timeline, forgot to add up years, just repeated the same line 'Kaliyuge Pratham Charane' no one counted it further, just recited the same quote actually written by Maharshi Ved Vyasa at the beginning of Kaliyuga at the Pratham Charan/First Phase of Kaliyuga
That's why, almost 95% people are in dillema in the exact date of yuga, but it can be solved by going through these scientific proofs:
    Reference Of Dwarika City:
    www.speakingtree.in/allslides/the-city-of-dwarka-had-existed-from-32-000-to-9-000-bc/dwaraka-coast
Pole Changes it's Position in each 400,000 years including 32,000 years that's the age of Kaliyug & happens in each end of yuga as per scriptures:

sir i think i have found the answer. it is mt kunjara which is that equator on which there is a big building for agastya. why a sage needs a big house? And also 10 times the hieght than width. It is probably an observatory. Lanka is surely north of Kunjara as per the verses. So Lanka actually remains where it is. It is Mt Kunjara which is in maldives or something submerged under the sea but on the equator for sure. Maldives islands has old traditions which wikipedia says dates to 2000BC sun faring settlers from Gujrath/Bihar

There is a spot on Google Earth at 00 : 79. Shows a rectangular structure. At the north end of it, there's a crossing of two lines, exactly at the equator and 79 meridian. It also shows a viable path from the southernmost point of "then" India to it. Where it appears to have a ridge or a built area possibly a bridge. It is in a curved path and not completely direct south from what used to be the Prime meridian then. Perhaps they took the route most viable through the shallow sea to build the bridge and the observatory/fort at Niraksha. Structure is there.

So this is most natural that he asks vishwakarma to build him an island on zero point on earth. He always wanted control over whole universe. It is stated that he kept sita away from himself at some place and only visited her sometimes. So may be she was kept in today's lanka. But ravan stayed away on his special island , made especially for him. Seems possible. ...just my speculation. Jyoti Dandekar.🙏🏻👍

Many people are thinking and confidently stating that Ravana's Lanka is in fact present day Sri Lanka, situated in the South-eastern region of India.
However, the narration given by Sage Valmiki in Sundara Kanda of Ramayana gives a different picture about the location of Ravana's Lanka.
    1) After flying 100 Yojanas over the ocean and reaching Lanka, Sri Hanuma observes the scenic beauty of flora of the Lanka. Sage Valmiki describes elaborately in Sundara Kanda.
    संततान् विविधैर्वऋकैः सर्वर्तुफलपुष्पितैः |
    उद्यानानि च रम्याणि ददर्श कपिकुञ्जरः || (Sundara Kanda 2nd Sarga 13th Sloka)
"Hanuma saw various glorious pleasure-groves filled by various trees that give fruits and flowers in all seasons and beautiful gardens ."
It is necessary to study the following phrase used by Sage Valmiki :
सर्वर्तुफलपुष्पितैः - Trees that give fruits and flowers in all seasons
Modern researches revealed that the equatorial zone on the Earth has the special climatic feature of allowing the trees to bear flowers and fruits in all seasons.
    2) According to Srimad Ramayana, in order to search for Seeta at Lanka in Southern direction, Sri Hanuma flew 100 Yojanas over the ocean.
    अञ्जलिं प्राङ्मुखः कृत्वा पवनायात्मयोओनयो |
    ततो हि ववृधे गन्तुं दक्षिणो दक्षिणां दिश्म् || (Sundara Kanda 1 Sarga 9 sloka)
Hanuma turned towards east, saluted his father, the Lord of Wind and increased his body to go towards southern direction.
Sri Lanka is at a distance of 24 kilometers (approx.) from Rameshwaram. And, it is in the South-East direction from India but not in the Southern Direction.
    3) After conquering Lankhini, the Godess of Lanka, Sri Hanuma enters Lanka and searches for Seeta. Sage Valmiki describes what Sri Hanuma saw, as follows:
    रथैः यानैः विमानैः च तथा गज हयैः शुभैः |
    वारणैः च चतुः दन्तैः श्वेत अभ्र निचय उपमैः ||
Sundara Kanda 4th Sarga 27 Sloka
Aerial-cars and decorated by auspicious elephants and horses and great elephants with *four tusks*
Modern Anthropologists say that elephants with four tusks existed 12-1.6 million years ago.
So Ravana’s Lanka might have existed somewhere in equatorial region only, and Sri Lanka cannot be Ravana’s Lanka
    With regards

In an answer to a question about locating landmass of lanka on current map, Nilesh clarified its present day absence while aptly pointing its location on the then prime meridian passing through Ujjain, Kurukshetra etc and at the equator, ‘Niraksha’. If we look at current map near Male, we see the prominent north-south mid ocean ridge, and some prominent masses proximately only between 100 to 200 meters below the sea surface about 5 to 7 degrees south of male. These whole bunch of masses would be above sea level at the time of Ramayana. So the position of Lanka should not be much of a guess work. The mainstream science also supports movements of land masses where the Indian plate is moving slightly anticlockwise and prominently in north-east direction. This must be the reason of the said prime meridian reference line shifting east over these 14k years, that too still showing clear indications of a reasonable theoretical standpoint. Lanka must be the sizeable mass visible just underwater and below today’s Male and today’s oceanic ridge including male islands, which must then be just below the sea surface, forming base for the Ram Setu.

Why would Lord Rama go to South East all the way to build a bridge if it is not to Sri Lanka? OK assuming Ravana's Lanka is to the South West of India as propagated then which place did Lord Rama perform the Linga Pooja before building the bridge?

The etymology of the word Lanka is "island". So, when one says Ravana's Lanka, it means Ravana's island(s). Could be referring to the small islands SW of southern tip of India like Mulan, Maafushi, Malé etc
Valmiki's Ramayana also suggests that Lanka was among a 'series of island nations (The islands around Maldives) and sunken mountains (Maldives was a huge mountain before it sunk'.

Mr.Nilesh Oak, I watch your videos with great interest. About Lanka I have some narrations to be made. I had gone to SriLanka in 2019. In Trikonmalee there are evidences of Ravana's presence there. Trikoneshwar temple where Ravana worshipped and how he wanted to uproot the temple and take it to his palace for his mother to have Shiva Darshan everyday. Other places too like hot water wells he made to conduct pithur shrardham for which his mother had to bathe.
The whole of todays SriLanka might have been Sinhala , ruled by some ruler and Ravana had his kingdom in and around Nuwara Eliya, Seetha Eliya etc which are in the middle of Sri Lanka. So Rama with his Wanara sena need not have gone through Jaffna, instead through the midwest of SriLanka which was surriunded by sea even when Jaffna was attached to India by land. Therefore Rama might have chosen to go through sea directly to Ravan's kingdom without bothering the Sinhala ruler.
When I was in Trikoneshwar temple one lady around 35 yrs came , she was extraordinarily beautiful, tall, fair and royal looking. She gave the Archana plate to the Guruji and told her name and her Gotram as Ravana Gotram. I was shocked because I never heard that Gotram's name before and it was like she was assuring that she is the "Descendant" of Ravana's family which ascertained her Royal look.
I believe strongly the present SriLanka is only the Lanka of Ravana. It was called as Lanka in Ramayana and we all used to call it Lanka in Tamil Nadu before it was changed to SriLanka. The Sinhalese changed it to SriLanka because the word Sri is wealth and Kubera is the God of wealth and Kubera was ruling over Lanka before Ravana. Hence they changed it to SrILanka.

Excellent talk yet again. Small question. I drew a line from Kurukshetra to Ujjain and extended it further south. It does not create a straight vertical but it passes exactly through the islands today known as Maldives and Maldives also lie on the equator. Also fits into the description of Lanka being towards South West. Maldives, a possible option?

We must take into consideration the fact that Ujjain temple was actually destroyed and rebuilt... I remember reading it a while ago. It could be possible that the original exact point of the line is lost during destruction and relocation of temple

sir i think i have found the answer. it is mt kunjara which is that equator on which there is a big building for agastya. why a sage needs a big house? And also 10 times the hieght than width. It is probably an observatory. It could be todays adhu city in maldives or something submerged under the sea but on the equator for sure. The reason adhu it has old traditions which wikipedia says dates to 2000BC sun faring settlers from Gujrath

    The age of Ramayana
I was wondering how was that the gomphotheres, 4 tasked elephants were guarding the palace of Ravana when Hanuman went there at that time. Ramayana was said to be around 4000 bce. But there were no gomphotheres at that time which went extinct. Gomphotheres existed 1.5 million to 2 million years ago. So what I feel is that Ramayana happaned about 1.5 million years ago. The whites' wrote histories are based on the Christians believe of creation of humans 4000 to 6000 years ago when Adam was created. And many Hindus also took this as a basis, And their beliefs contradict with modern science where human fossils are found to date 200k years. Modern man's movement itself from Africa took 70,000 years ago. I hope Hindu scientists, anthropologists and archaeologists do independent researches on this. The Abrahamic religions are lying the world. I wonder how learned people are still hoodwinked to this Adam and Eve theory.

True, i concur this Ramayan fits perfectly into yug time lines... 12000 BC is not the correct date.

Your comment is nonsense. You went from white Christians history; 4000-6000 years ago>to white people history done by SCIENCE; 1.5 milli0o0n years ago. You cannot use both in the ame sentence and compare it to dr oaks nonsense.

We also know about the great deluge, the Manu Shraddhadeva ruled kingdom of Dravida. After the deluge on the top of the Malaya Mountains, the boat was rested. Malaya mountains is in South India.
It clearly proves, Lord Vishnu was known worshipped in South India. Not only that, Lord vishnu took his first avatar, the Matsya avatar in South. (Mentioning it here, coz, there's a belief, Siva is a local Dravidian God, while Vishnu is an Aryan specially with avatars of Rama, Krishna, Buddha)
South India is mentioned in Hindu scriptures from the Satya Yuga onwards.
Not only land archeology, but also maritime archeology, astrology, astronomy, climatology, genetics, carbon dating, etc is required, it's not possible with a single discipline of science,to locate the places mentioned in Hindu scriptures, to understand the timeline of the stories mentioned in Hindu scriptures, as they narrates events happened aeons ago.

It may be a submerged atoll belonging to the Chagos archipelago of which Diego Garcia is a constituent. Wikipedia says, Valmiki has described Lanka as a part of an archipelago of islands and submerged mountains. The Chagos archipelago (Chagos Laccadive ridge) seems to fit this description. This Lanka might have submerged. Further, the capital of Ravana is described to be atop a hill and on raised structures running to about 13 km. Probably Ravana built it at such high altitude knowing that the land mass with the mountain has the propensity to get submerged some day.

Sir, the prospect for your research work and I'm fascinated especially the fact on Pragjyotisha being in the west. You rightly said it is all of our responsibility towards our history, and support each other. I have been doing some research work on mahabharata. However due to limited resources, in terms of bandwidth and contacts, and being abroad with different full-time profession, establishing the work as facts are not fictions, based on how it is written in the original epic, is a little challenging. Is there a way we can team up or you may refer someone in the space whom I can team up and work with. I'm extremely passionate about our heritage our history, and extremely interested since my childhood in establishing the facts. Could you kindly advise? My book on Mahabharat should be published very soon, I had to put it under fiction but I trust a number of those factors to be considered but I don't know how to release establish them. An expert group discussion might help in this regard

Sadness is not when most of the people don’t know the truth, that is a problem which can be solved. Sadness is when, who know the truth manipulate it or hide it. Deny, Convince or CONFUSE

Raavana wasn't in need o a bridge because he owns Pushpaka Vimaana which has enough room for everyone who boards it so says Vaalmiki Raamayana as I read somewhere. After the war, upon Vibhishana's request, Raama came back to Nandigraam in Pushpak Vimaana along with all Vaanara. Correct me if I am wrong about this.
I also read that there is a description of a fruit and it's taste in Vaalmiki Raamayana which is only native to Lanka and even Today that fruit only available in Sri Lanka.
