Man this video just saved me!! Lol thank you! I just ran my new xmaxx today for the first time. Got it up to 62mph and heard a grind then the motor spent but the car wouldn’t move. When I changed to the 46t gear I didn’t put the motor back in front of this bracket like you showed in the vid. Thank!!! New subscriber

This was helpful for setting the mesh, especially the front part of the motor.
I bought a used axmaxx and just rebuilt it because you know you never know what’s in there anyways I would’ve never known about the Kush drive being torn to pieces if I didn’t rebuild it and take my God blessed time. I did replace it but good to know that this could be the cause of me strip in spurs in the future

I managed to strip 4 or 5 Traxxas spur gears within the first 6 months of ownership 😂😂 it was probably due to that part in the Cush drive being damaged. now I have a gpm one in and have not had problems since.

That notch you used your screwdriver to pop the cush drive lid, it's for a telemetry magnet for rpm.
They dont do that for the xmaxx

I ran my xmaxx for the first time today.. stripped spur and pin in about 5 min... very disappointing RTR experience.
I think the “pin system” doesn’t work well at all for the 18T/46T gearing. It’s too tight. The optional 46T that came with the car is a pinion shredder.

Thanks, that’s probably wye my gear dripped as soon as I replaced it, not in front of the plate!! 👍 is it possible to refit the motor with out the pins, are they just a guide ??
They are but they hep keep it in place. Safer just to use them . Plus why wouldnt you? Is there a reason not to
Rub a magnet on the driver a few times an don't have to hold the screws
I've stripped 2 pinions so far, 1 was incorrect mesh and the other the pinion came loose... So gonna use some loctite this time, not sure why I didn't last time🤦♂️ just forget I guess🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah I got green locktite and got an impact driver lol

I stripped one in my maxx not x maxx in 20 minutes of owning it because it was in the wrong pin because I couldn’t find a pin chart so I guessed and I got it wrong
I literally used my brand new xmaxx for like 10mins then the pinion lost about 10 teeth and the spur lost about 1

If you put a magnet on the top of your wrench than the screw won't fall off when you're trying to install a screw pointing down

It happened to me, I stripped the spur and pinion because of it, and my local hobby shop couldn't find what's wrong, so it ended up changing the whole chassis😑
