I am very thankful that you and your dad are doing well. I will take a moment to pray for him. I am also thankful that your videos have inspired me and that i have learned much more from your channel than i did in the past! Thanks so much for your help and i will continue to watch these videos as long as i live. God bless you and your family.
Very nice! Tagged my first buck a week before leaving for where the Army sends us. The weekly shows are something I look forward to and keeps morale high!
+Mike Hubbard Thanks for watching, but most importantly thank you for your service to this country. We will be thinking of you and all the servicemen and women during the Christmas season. -Matt
one added bonus to our huntin grounds is the farmer has an alfalfa clover mix field that is right in the middle of the woods there's a gravel road to it but the nearest road or highway is a mile or more away the deer have several water options some oak trees plenty of cedar thickets and cover in my eyes it's a deer sanctuary
great bucks guys I'm so jealous.. we don't have bucks like this in my area what I'd give to have a chance at one!!!great episode love the show can't wait to see Grant's teaser Buck...
I shot my first deer (a doe) and turkey this year. Love hunting and love what you guys do! Wish all us deer hunters could learn to keep such great habitat for whitetail. After watching this show for over a year now I also wanted to say thank you for providing great content and helping me visualize my future as I now want to become a biologist even though I am years from college. Hope your dad gets better soon he is a great man and a great inspiration for us all.
Got sent to the vice principles today for watching this episode on the website when I should have been doing my research report. Still worth it though, love how the videos have been longer.
Another excellent video. Im lovin that the last couple videos have been longer. And that deer season xp ammo is awesome. Took a buck last week here in Oklahoma with it in my 270 and it was truly devastating. Congrats on all the great bucks. See you fellas next week!
Glad you all got nice deer and it looks like grant did to. I got a good buck opening day and my dad got nice 10 point the second sunday. I think the deer hit the peak of the rut right when they were supposed to. Nice episode
awesome episode, as always! look forward to every one of them. always great to see you thank our creator in every episode. honestly the best deer management , hunting, and property management show on TH-cam. even t.v for that matter. keep up the outstanding work and your dads in my prayers.
+Cody Lewis That is a great idea, here is a small clip to explain our laundary process! Enjoy! -Matt www.growingdeer.tv/clips/#/hunting-tip-it-starts-with-the-laundry
Or a video of your land and where your foods plots are placed and where deer like to move most. along with natural pinch points and where stands are placed and why? That would be an awesome video!
Nice bucks! I missed my number one hit list buck on the sunday after opening day. Ended up shooting a doe and a button buck on the last day of rifle season.
+growing deer.tv Thank you so much for the links I'm wanting to make a show like yours I want to study wildlife management and only shoot deer that are mature I really like learning about deer and there habitat and again thanks for the links
That was some very good Bucks. Mr Grant how is your dad doing . I hope he get better and beat the cancer too. Did you get my Thanksgiving Card that i seen to you. Keep the videos coming. Mr. Grant please get me a big buck so you can show it to me. Thank you Mr. Grant. God Bless you and you Family and team too. We all learn things from your videos.
+eddie carter Thank you so much for the card! That was very kind of you to think of us! You're very thoughtful and generous! Pops is doing well after his 3rd chemo treatment. It's a battle but he's fighting hard. The doc's gave him a month to live without treatment. At his last appointment they did a scan and were amazed at how much the tumors had reduced! They said his type of cancer usually responded well to chemo but not that quickly! We know it was the power of prayer and God's goodness! Even though you aren't able to hunt this year, we hope that you are able to get out an enjoy God's creation! We enjoy just taking walks or just going to a spot in the woods or field edge and just sitting still and seeing the critters that come through! May God bless you during this time in your life as you care for others. - Tracy for the GrowingDeer team
Thank you! Pops is doing well and had a recent successful turkey hunt which you can watch here: www.growingdeer.tv/#/turkey-hunting-the-best-hunts-are-with-family -Daniel
I scored a 10 point myself back on opening day right shortly after it got light out. And heck, I barely had any time to go out at all that year! Big body, though his antler span was quite small for something that big and heavy. Sheesh the heavy swampy terrain made it a pain to get him out.
Great video! I've recently started watching your videos and they are very helpful and enjoyable. I enjoy seeing family and friends having quality time in God's creation. Most importantly, it is wonderful to see you guys being a living testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ! I am praying for Pop, may the Lord rid him of his cancer. Keep up the good work and God bless y'all!
Another great video! I am really enjoying these longer episodes as well. Before it felt like you'd just get into it, and it was over. But with these, they're satisfying. Although, whoever was peeing out of the stand while filming @ 5:41 kind of amused me. :P Between the wacky weather here and our neighbor logging the 60 acres around us, what deer are in the area just aren't moving into my property. This is the same neighbor who refused to let me hunt for meat does on his property but will let a buddy hunt who cuts the antlers off, removes the backstraps, and leaves the rest of the meat to rot. We found a couple of carcasses that were too far gone by the time we found them last year. As someone who relies on the meat for our yearly food, it made me madder than a wet hen. I figure if I tell said neighbor about it he'll tell his buddy who will start hiding the carcasses better, so I can't see them from the road. And I figure if I'm going to call the DNR, I need proof. I took pictures of the ones last year, but I doubt our mostly useless conservation officer would be willing to help out. It seems if it's not a meth lab, he won't show up. Keep up the good work guys, I'm living vicariously through you. :)
+justin mugele We have management goals that we have set and plan to follow closely. We want every buck to reach maturity to express its greatest potential. -Matt
+GrowingDeer.tv thanks for replying, we always take care of our deer. we just have alot of woods around where we hunt and people does the same just shoot to kill on the small deer but we have ground in Multiple places i live in southern illinois so im not to far away from you guys so thats pretty cool. i am going to try to save some young bucks and does for the years to come you guys make awsome videos keep it up
Great video like usual! Could one of you do a video of you on your way to your stand along with a hunt? you guys look like you carry a lot of stuff but I dont know how you do it quietly?
+JOHN DOE HAHA, we do have to carry quite a bit of gear in to film hunts. Our biggest way to stay quiet getting to the stand is blowing trails to the stands. Early season this is very helpful as it allows us to hunt close to bedding areas without alerting deer. Even when its warm and deer aren't moving we are able to setup close to them undetected. We also try to ease into every set, we never walk to a stand. It takes more time, but we ease through the woods to not alert any deer in the area. -Matt
Nathan- We use Drake Nontypical gear. They make some great deer hunting attire for early, mid and late season. We tend to wear base layers on the top and bottom plus a nice warm outside layer. We sit comfortably in the stands when we dress like this. You can check out more of the Nontypical clothing here: www.drakewaterfowl.com/shop/season/big-game -Matt
I want with my Grandpa and didn't realize I had ear infection in both ears and strep throat and I went all Saturday and Sunday evening and missed a big 8 pointer because I was sick so I was told...
You may consider reaching out to the Game warden or local conservation agent. Let them know of your problems and see if they are willing to frequently drop by and inspect the place. This may deter folks from entering your property. We work closely with our local conservation agent. -Matt

Great video, I saw it on the website yesterday. Thanks for the great content. Is there a way I could request a topic for a future video? Merry Christmas to all the crew at GrowingDeer.tv
I've watched a few of your videos about aging deer on the fly, and found them very useful and informative. My idea is more so a question so it seems. My question/idea stems from a hunt I had last weekend in Central Mississippi. I shot an 80lb button buck! It even had a smaller deer with it maybe 30 lbs or less (reassuring me this was its mother). We are harvesting our does as usual and could have sworn this deer was a doe. I felt bad for taking it, but in good conscience thought I was taking a doe. Any advice on how to tell, especially in a quick fasion? Thank you.

Awesome! Congrats! If I remember right, July Johnson was 127! -Daniel
How far will you shoot with your bow and what pound is it at?
+Sam nicholson We try to limit our shots under 50 yards. We each shoot roughly 65 lbs. -Matt

You shot him hard
I meant what Calaber.
Why did he shoot that buck when the deer was facing towards him
