Note: it's not that Kingdom Hearts III couldn't get Danny DeVito back for the role (though he never appeared in Kingdom Hearts, all the voice roles for Phil in other media were done by Robert Costanzo with the sole exception of the PS1 game and one of those interactive storybook games Disney used to make), it's that Ichiro Nagai, Phil's Japanese voice actor, died in 2014, and characters in Japan are often "retired" if their voice actor passes. Same thing happened to Colonel Campbell, "retired" after the death of Takeshi Aono, which is why all of Snake's codec conversations in Smash Ultimate are recycled from Brawl.
Funfact: The Japanese release of Epic Mickey was published by Nintendo and included many bug fixes for the camera and allows you to skip projector levels after beating them once! If you make a backup of the Japanese disc you can edit it easily to play in full English too.
See, people whine about developers using patches as an excuse to not make sure their games work on release, but then you get stuff like this where the game launches with bugs anyway and they'd have been perfectly willing to fix it if they could, _but they can't._
I heard Phil doesn't speak in Kingdom Hearts 3 because his Japanese voice actor died, and they didn't want to recast out of respect. I get it, but that's why Phil is silent in the actual game. I personally would have cut Phil out if it mean having less awkward scenes, but I totally get why you'd leave him in too.
Yes, plus the Japanese are very respectful to the actors that voice the characters. Chikao Otsuka the Japanese voice actor who played Xehanort died in 2015, for such a plot important character, they had to replace him. Which is why the Japanese voice of goku has always been voiced by the same woman.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5, Epic Mickey 1 and 2 and Ducktales Remastered are one of my favorites. Emperors new groove, Tron evolution and Asobo´s WALL-E i like them.
@@HolyGoddessMotherAnne no they have aged poorly. I love tried saying this before and just get mad flack but the games are just from a different time, doesn't mean they weren't great and aren't still good they just aged like milk

The game came out in 2003 and to this day I still have its soundtrack in my head and will start singing the songs while chilling at home!
Thank you for not only acknowledging how awesome Eurocom was (RIP), but also Toy Story 3. Nobody believes me when I tell people that it's a great game. It rules.
For me, I have pretty fond childhood memories of playing "Disney's Magical Quest 2 The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie" with my sister. Just a really fun capcom platformer for the SNES with similar co-op to World of Illusion
Shoutout to Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, which is probably both one of my favorite Disney games and my favorite Lego game (although, honestly, putting a Traveller's Tales Lego game on any best licensed games list feels like a cop-out )

In fact, it was the reason I made sure said PC had a DVD drive since the game was only on DVD over here. And it was worth it! I replayed Tron 2.0's first quarter so many times and some of the game's setpieces are etched into my memory to the point I still feel chills thinking about them.
I remember it being my first action/rpg hybrid. It was like Deus Ex-lite before I'd played Deus Ex and I remember young me being so confounded by some of the systems because I was a kid and numbers in my action game, does not compute. I don't think I ever finished it but I know I played it a lot.
Me and my brother spent every day after school playing World of Illusion. I never knew the single player journey was different until you just told me lmao I never played it without him. It was my childhood
Awesome vid! Man World of Illusion, at the time when it came out, looked like an animated Disney movie to me, especially the first stage with the caterpillar in the foreground. The best version of Cold Shadow is the PC version, it has less collectable point garbage littered everywhere and the music is amazing. I had a demo of it when i was 8 that came with the Toy Story video game, the nightmare Buzz one. I had no clue what to do on the second level because there was no manual and apparently you had to press Q to transform into a ninja, which i didn't push that button. I never saw the game in stores after that and forgot about it until like 10 years ago, played it all the way through and it's an amazing side scroll adventure game. It's on Steam for 6 dollars probably almost free on GoG, after you hassle with getting a controller to work because, of course you have to, you can enjoy the duck game.
Thanks for giving magical racing tour some light. One of the better kart racers that aren't the big 3
