    Anyone charged with gun offences should not get bail. The police have done their jobs only to have the courts release the criminals on bail, it must be so frustrating for them to have to keep arresting the same people multiple times. Our court system needs to do better.

    • @mandrews1245
      @mandrews1245 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      My uncle was a cop and I asked him about the frustration. He said, when starting out it was so disheartening to take so long to capture and build a case, only to have them back on the street within a few days of arrest. Now he is older, he has come to grips with the police job. Get them off the streets! It is up to the courts and out of his hands after he arrests them... Only way he can keep his sanity.

      Reasonably, I think that anything below 5% immediate return to crime and 40% long-term recidivism is a victory, a normal successful progress of a well functioning society. Crooks will crook. That's what they do. Keeping them on the margins is what Canada does.

    As someone who was raised in this neighborhood, I can wholeheartedly guarantee you, that with the repeat number of big raids they've done with this particular gang, the members they caught, are the ones that the gang, already decided we're meant to get caught. Also, the areas of operation, that were affected, are areas that they decided were worth the, minimal cost. In a graciously given timeline of 2 weeks from now, 31 of the 32 arrested, will be out on bail, with 27 of those arrested having their charges, dropped/dismissed. In Jamestown, going to jail is celebrated and a lot more highly regarded than graduating high-school. You're only truly respected by the gangs, if you're true to yourself and give back to the community, whilst impacting the youth in a positive way. If you commit to positively assisting, instead of only doing it when it suits you, the gang will respect you and leave you alone. It's actually a unique social cultural understanding that people don't always grasp.

    TCHC ghettos. The city councillors built the environment for these gangs.
    Pouring hundreds of millions into NEW public housing projects like Regent Park, does NOT address the gang problem. The city is intentionally burying the truth because they are in love with their antiquated 1960s public housing models.
    Right downtown, Atkinson coop over near Kensington Market is being rebuilt at Zero displacement. Same community getting new houses nobody could afford. @ million dollar townhouses for the TCHC residents. Everybody would be wondering why they can't get a 2 million dollar townhouse!! 3) When you're not allowed to question the solution.
      4) When the solution involves surrendering your freedoms.
      5) When your eyes see one thing, but you are compelled to believe a different thing.
      6) When the solution means giving small groups of people control over larger and larger things.
      7) When dissenters are censored for refusing to accept the solution.
      8) When dissenters are targeted by accusations from different sources, suddenly and all at once.
