kookiemonster, 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I think you got that right after his friend left the house and the other gangs stayed in this house I believe he’s friend that took the backpack knows about his death I believe because when he left the shooting take place and when he came back to the house the his friend he was already gone. It’s very sad and heartbreaking to be honest with you I felt sorry for the families! ✌🏻🇨🇦💗❤️💜💙💕😘
I'm an Eritrean-American. I haven't known too many Somalians growing up. The ones I have met, I can't help but feel some type of kinship to because they look like me. You can't ignore a person who physically resembles half of your family, whether he or she is of the same nation as you or the same faith. Any Somalian I have come across I've done my best to push them, promote them and remind them of the contribution they can provide to the world. I have been doing that myself by taking my talents to the education system. I am near completion of becoming a high school geography teacher. A lot of the reason I went that way is because of what I feel I can contribute to future generations about where my ancestors came from. The area I came from is just a hop, skip and jump away from where Somalians come from. I hope now you can see why when I do run into Somalians, I am quick to suggest a career in education. First, teach yourself (going to school), then be the person to each other(becoming the teacher) God bless this person's family and to all Somalians as a whole. Eritrean's got your backs Somalia!
This is why u need to be careful about being CARNAL, sometimes it means nothing. U need to critically think and never back down. Many Somalis do this in Minnesota, USA too.
I find it appalling that 31 young men (no matter their color or creed) are dead and yet it still remains unsolved...even if they were into selling drugs they are still human beings and a mother's child...no parent should have to feel that their child's life doesn't matter...bc the fact is that ALL lives matter...
Stormy Weather people won’t “snitch”.....so, they go unsolved. The mentality has to change, don’t you agree? These 31 people made a choice to run the gauntlet for money.....do you think the others that are doing the same care? They are the ones doing the killing! It’s a vacuum, and as long as people are willing to be seduced by this lifestyle choice, it will only get worse!
I'm black Latino and we were working construction but living in downtown EDM frm 2012-2015 so when we start talking about joining the oil wave we were very strongly recommend no to go up there. It was "something" going on with Africans ,it looked like a civilians or G-natives had chase-squad on them. I went by myself anyways so I'm telling you it wasn't about drugs dealing on Gcreeping cause the hierarchy on place (MC) still run fortMac and doesn't allow any deep conflict between it's different foot soldiers factions.
So the mum is a single parent, works hard and gets very tired. Where was the father all that time? Without a father figure the mother would struggle on her own.
I was really impressed when she said that. Using the opportunities offered by her new home country to fulfil some ambitions, and improve her education and her life. Before the programme took such a tragic turn, I had a big smile on my face at that point.
Happy New lslamic Year if the fathers are abusive scum, then yeah they should be kicked to the curb. The daughters are doing well. It's a problem with the boys... as per usual
Abdi seemed like he was trying to be a gangster and ran into trouble very quick. The sister in law seems grounded and like she cared about him Iman, his sister, is CLUELESS. What man pays for a trip to Jamaica for 2 WOMEN unless it is about BANGING YOU or pushing drugs? I can't.
Haya Glamazon The sister in law seems totally grounded but she's no fool. Of course she knew he was slinging. The sister and her friend BOTH knew they were going to mule dope...
Bruh every somali parent esp mothers thinks their kids are angels and whatever bad they do is from friends n peers n blame friends instead of disciplining em
every mother think her son is a saint what do you expect...that is a natural disposition and all mothers of all nationality generally think well of their children. simpleton you are
@Deen Bloger and other races and nationalities dont? I think re-framing the argument is not serving you right...easy to see thru your argument your bases and issues you have lol I think you know the truth and I will leave it as that...Dont worry about Somali mothers and worry about your mothers and lets mind our business within. bye
All parents do that, blame it on the friends. I would tell my parents how do you know I'm not the one getting my friends to do the things we do? Lol you should've seen the looks on their faces when I would say it. Even than they would be in denial. So most parents blame the other kids, no one wants to admit their child is a trouble maker.
As a Rwandese person who survived a genocide I can even imagine the pain the parents had to go through. We all came here for a safer life. Getting that call about your son being gunned down in the streets Ohh my God. May God protect our children's and heal the hearts of his loved ones.
Kids who grow up in a strict home with parents who can't conform to their new environments are usually the most gullible of all. Somali parents also need to open up their eyes and quit the blame game. Each one of them believes their child is an angel yet they run with bad crowds. There's a reason birds of a feather flock together.
Layla W Agree. And it's equally challenging for the parents as well. The environment pushes the children into things that are far away from the values that the parents have, so these parents worry for them.
Yazsy1 Thank You fam, parents hardship is back home here with peace is heaven they don't understand when your kids grow up in housing it's a different mentality of survival. I was caught with a gun in '08 as a youngin and when police called my parents to court for bail hearing they were shocked, they never knew about me being robbed and stuck up with a gun by Jamaicans. I'm glad I turned out safe but my suggestion to my parents to move after that happened still didn't work, we fail to believe our kids go through their own struggle. I know Pakistani friends who were just as poor but didn't grow up in housing they turned up good too. It's hard to survive in such a violent area where you will definitely be victimized.
Abdi was in the drug business. He was a small time runner similar to a pawn. He made the equivalent to a McDonalds employee but living tax free. It wasn't hard to give his mother money for car rent or some low income housing monthly funds. He got shot for robbing another drug dealer. Its a dog eat dog world. No one wants to talk, so this case will never be solved. rip. this happens everywhere everyday.
DK1LLA well he got what he deserves, roping and drug dealing and thieving? and his family is crying wolf on camera, they should hang their heads whit shame
Stephanie Woodruff GOD gave me right to judge fool, I'm not goin to defend evil actions, you must a flipping bad mom who son is drug dealing and rubbing people money too
I know right! Conviently leaves when they kill him. Calls 911 but doesn't even stay. He probably tipped those guys to say there was drugs and cash in the apartment..... Or maybe I've watched too many First 48 lol... But something tells me he could have even been the one to pull the trigger.... No friends in this type of lifestyle
Yr wrong some people reali are that naive...I lived a very sheltered life growing up I wudnt have known back then..my rose colored glasses has obviously slipped now..never dabled in any drugs or alcohol so wudnt have known this was a thing
Hope you are doing well.....simply, it starts with family...they will shape you whether to right path or to the wrong path regardless of the surroundings.......if you are well shaped, then you can stand against the surroundings whenever and wherever otherwise you just have to expect a deadly ending..... Simple
@@tahamysterious4302 awhe thank you!! I'm doing well, hope your doing well as well! I love how the writing looks! I would like to get a tattoo on me in this language. Can you spell my name in that language ??
Sometimes even with the best parenting and upbringing, one still can have a child that goes astray. Seems to me these kids were a product of their environment. Not bad parenting. Although the dad could have done more, there is NO significant research that says a mother can't raise a good decent person as a single parent.
Not a fact. You can teach, admonish and guide your children but you CANNOT live or make decisions for them. Thts why u pray over your children and make them comfortable enough to seek counsel so you u can help them in judgement and decisions but they're going to make mistakes as sure as they living and sometimes their mistakes can produce lifelong consequences or tragic ones, and the VERY best parents have suffered tht fate.
People do not understand that living in metro housing/poor communities strips away a persons basic rights and allows them to be oppressed. People constantly perceive priority neighborhoods of being full of people that are lazy, uneducated and freeloaders. It's that type of thinking that makes people hostile in the first place. Imagine you were applying for a job and the employer assumed because you came from the hood that you were a thug, therefor he doesn't call you in for an interview. People are just trying to survive in this country and it's not easy caring for family when you are living on 11.25/hour.
If you dont appreciate the way you are being treated go out there and change it. What you are describing is stereotyping people. Some have enough spirit to think outside the box, and strategys along with rights can lead to happier outcomes. You need to be unbiased in how you are trying to interpret these conditions. Acceptance is a hard thing to find, but when a young person chooses to break the law usually they will end up being punished by the law. Here in Canada if a law applys to one then it applys to all.
How did the mother go from being a cleaner to becoming a nurse (strong accent and everything) if nobody in community housing can get opportunities? Opportunities are the there ... you have young kids that grow up hearing gangsta rap and want to live that life. You traffic some drugs and get paid far more than working a 9-5 and these youth know that. However, if the cops don't get you then your rivals will.
Don’t make excuses for these sorts of people bro my family is Somali my mum raised me and 3 brothers in 12,000 and live in the most violant area of the city. My sister is gonna be a lawyer and has the grades I’m a biomed student and my brother is doing computer science all will 70-100k no excuses your choice
It is sad though parents are moving to these places for a better future for themselves and kids because its very very bad in their homecountry yet they want to be bad. Rap music is a reason why.
It is very sad. I hurt for the family. He clearly had a great heart even if he did get off track. Praying his family can find peace and justice. Hope all families that lost loved ones can find peace, answers, and justice.
I actually have a friends from Somalian, But they always fighting with each other and they’ll never gets along with one another at all some of them drinks alcohols and going to the clubs making creating problems for their families, imagine you can see them throwing dangerous things on the floor caring bad things around their families like mother and father and since then my family and I stopped visiting them but we still saying hi to each other’s ✌🏾✌🏻💗🇨🇦🇰🇪🇺🇬😘❤️💗💜💕
It ain’t the projects it’s the people in the projects 💯There’s a hood everywhere you go no where is safe some good people come up out the projects just gotta be the smart wise one out the projects 💯
I guess you didn’t watch his father was around. The problem was the discrimination. They didn’t want to hire them because of their skin color or religion so they sold drugs to get by. It was mentioned that because he had no accent he was able to get interviews but when they saw him in person they told him the job wasn’t available.
This story is absolutely BARKING MAD. You cannot make this up. Parents escape war torn Somalia, one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Children grow up to become lay-abouts - the son trying to be a gangster, pathetic when he should have gone to school, and the daughter selfish, naive and stupid. Abdi's death did not have to happen. Stay away from idiot gang members, stay in school and stay focused on creating successful legal businesses that generate income that can give your family a solid foundation. Iman is absolutely pathetic! The sister in law is truly kind and loving. God bless her
But she said the dumbest remarks when she said Abdi doesn't deserve whatever happened to him!! When a person plays with fire with his bare hands, he ought to hurt, isn't so?
This family is in denial. He was definitely involved in something illegal, whether it was drugs/robbery /whatever, he was making decent money pretty quickly. The way he was moving, the circle he was in. I've seen it happen with my own eyes, I've refused to believe it too. It does not mean he was a bad person, he was just caught in loop that's hard to get out of. They're either extremely naive or they're refusing to accept it because they think it will hurt their view of him (or something along those lines). He was obviously a good kid, who cared about the people he loved, and tried to show that by giving money, but that cash did not come from a legitimate job. It's the same here in the uk, the somali boys are running drugs and moving in gangs. The one's I know are good guys, loyal, but not to be messed with. And their parents are the same way, they think their kids are working legitimate jobs and that its their friends who get them in trouble. No matter what he was doing though, he did not deserve to die.
@@nasirakhtar1233 this has nothing to do with me or my family. All I did was agree the previous comment and stated it was a sad situation. How you got to be so petty from that is on you. Have a great day 😊
his friend set him up, the way he left is fishy, he left to give those people room to do what they came for; with friends like that you don't need enemies
Heersare Muxumed in other parts of Canada, where black people don't live in black neighborhoods, there's no gangs and very little violence. Black neighborhoods is self segregation and it always becomes a ghetto because people keep their old ways from back in their countries of origin, and I'm not talking about food and music...... I lived in it in Montreal, but where I live now, there's no self segregation, no gangs, no violence...
No one dropped the ball. He graduated high school, however he made some poor decisions that can’t be blamed on parents when you’ve taught your kids right from wrong. A lot of foreigners are ignorant to the ways of life in other societies because where they come from they live by different traditions and the. They’re kids adapt to western society way of life and some let go of their values that they had when they were in their own country
His family knew he was into illegal activities, because he didn't have a good paying job but they all excepted dirty money from him. This is a cautionary tale. Stay away from the streets.
This was heartbreaking. I can feel the tears welling up in my eyes. My heart aches for the family. The fact that this stuff happens like every other day in the Somali community is very sad. We as a Somali community need to do better. We are so much better than this. Why are we killing each other? I just don’t understand. We’re given the chance to escape from a war torn country only to wage a war against each other in another? We can’t go on like this. We need to stop wallahi.
Police don't care! Somali community wake up and solve father figure problems. Mums are tired out there! Sabr, patience with one another builds a family! Sorry for the loss of our boy!Love
Sister inlaw is so woke. The interviewer went in circles trying to plant that seed but sister inlaw was not having that. My prayers are with all of them, parents, cooks, honest friends, may god be with you all and order your steps Amen.
This is why the black community can't get no where. You think he was selling cookies. He literally wrote gangs affiliation in his graduation picture. Are you that dense.
Imagine giving up everything to give your children a better life, working several jobs to put your children in good schools and your kids join gangs and get caught smuggeling drugs. I would be so disappointed
I don't think I could give my parents grieve. My mother would die of stroke .she is too precious to endure this after the struggle they went through hours of scrubbing toilets and their children repay them with gangs and stupid naivety. People are only good to you if they want something from you .Rip
He is not expected to do anything you or I might expect. In Islam he can simply find another wife and have kids and carry on. The man doesn’t owe much to anyone except to Allah (who asks him to sow his seed in women, 4 marriages if needed). Not to you or to Canada.
Naaah his bitter wife had to break the family apart because she mad at him n turn his kids againist him its a trend in the community especially when he brings her into the country they think culture n tradition is second to society norms
I am from Bridgeport, a town in the State of Connecticut, United States. When I think of Canada, I envision beautiful pine trees, clean and clear air and beautiful lands and people that wouldn't hurt a fly. I always thought of Canada as the beautiful flip side of our awful dark side of America.
That's because people like you believe all the hype. Canada has the same problems as the U.S just on a smaller scale. No country in the world has such a large and diverse population as the U.S. Even with all our problems we still prevail. No other country in the world faces the challenges and still offers such a degree of opportunity. 320 million people and still free, in spite of those trying to construct our demise.
A big part of the problem is that they do not try to assimilate into the sociality they moved to. They do not have to abandoned their old way of life, but they can't live in a closed neighborhood. My Somali friend who did go out of his way to interact with others has a great job and many friends. He is the one who told me this barrier is the largest one.
who benefited from the move Canada, the father who became a teacher the mother who became a nurse or the children who became drug dealers and traffickers.
Windsor Castle . My Fore-father Gerald was Titled " Gerald de' Windsor " because he was born at Windsor Castle . What have you to do with his birth place ? .
the difference is the parents are marginalized and discriminated against but push through life regardless to reach their goals. the kids on the other hand who are born in Canada or came when they were young, speak the language well enough to climb up educationally but don't take profiling or discrimination easily. why should they? the generation is different. what we need is a good youth leaders and parents to be proactive in their children lives.
She said the first time any gun shots were heard in this area it was a Somali that did it. She’s basically saying it’s Somalis killing other Somalis. She spoke with so much passion then that idiot next to her basically tried to silence her by saying “don’t say that, you know this is getting filmed right we should keep it in the community and not expose our issues” to which her friend replies “so what let her talk” basically she done a courageous thing and she spoke with conviction instead of trying to put a band aid on a gaping wound she stated the truth. We are very good at simply not speaking about our issues therefore nothing gets solved. I support her words 100%!!!
these guys can't see the big picture of the way they live? guns, gangs, drugs........murder. it's a cycle that keeps repeating yet they just can't get enough of it. meanwhile, the family sticks their head in the sand and won't see that this young man and his friends were all up to something illicit.
It is sad how some young people can be so naive about things. No one gives out airline tickets and accomodation to young girls without expecting something in return. And as for those young boys, they were all involved in something dangerous, but I can understand the mother’s reluctance to believe her son to believe he was perfect. She has enough to live with, let her be.
His family and parents are in denial.....he was trafficking drugs and got caught up. Living that life leads to death or jail.....like the guy said "it's a choice"
Inna lilaahi wa ina ilayhi raji’un. Whatever he was into, wali waa will walaalkeen eh. This is truly heartbreaking Subhan’Allah May Allah have mercy on his soul.
No one should ever forget their culture; however, when you move to a new country you should want to adopt some of its ways to acclimate better. Never forget where you come from, but be aware of the norms in your new society. God bless the young men and their families. 🙏🏽💔
What a fantastic presenter! Objective, fair, empathetic and a thorough professional. The biggest problem is Somali parents rising Canadian children. Replace Somali with any other group and you will have similar social issues. Forcing children into cultural subjugation against the the norm of western society can lead to serious breakdown in communication. Lose communication and you lose your children.
being Somali watching this, the video and the story in it offer less than 1% of the real story. These things are deeper and deeper from the parenting, to the young clueless kids, to the Canadian government who see these communities as second class citizens. Going back to Somalia is the safest way. May Allah help us make our country safe again
@@sihaam Going back to Somalia will change and save life , culture and deen. This crimes and gangs didn’t just come from nowhere. It’s an organized crime. Crips, bloods, MS-13, just like Alqaeda, Al shabab and the Talibans were all created by Mossad and the CIA .This agents carry out this missions world wide. And if that’s not enough they do mind control through television. This youths are set by the government. There is no such thing as free housing and free money. All this comes with free drugs and free weapons to destabilize the family unit.
@@sihaam that lawless country is yours hate it or love, and you are blind if you think you have alternative. Wherever you go you will be Somali and belong to Somalia so it is better to build our country than seeking alternatives.
exactly, although it is hard we need to go back and rebuild our country, in these last few years i have seen many efforts by the somali diaspora using their privilege and education to help rebuild which i think is exactly what we need. InshAllah we will get rid of Al-Shabab and these toxic Clan superiority ideologies.
I met many hard working 1st generation Somali immigrants when I was living in the Seattle area. They were always really crafty/skilled city drivers with resilient spirits. Many of them still have relatives back in Somalia and would talk about visiting when they can, feeling safe to do so. They talked about having “normal” lives growing up. This was so shocking to me given what we know about Somalia. I guess people are just experts at adapting to their circumstances.
Somali fathers are part of that problem of their sons becoming gangsters because they are not part of their lives they are not bringing them up, they leave everything for the mum to do and expect good children
I don't like the way the shows ends, there is like a few shows that ends weird. the lady dosent say anything at the end or says anything about what's going on with the family or what happened after the show aired.
It never occurred to the sister and her friend that fish would spoil on a plane ride to Canada from Jamaica. Fix is transported in ice, and a freezer. Smh!
My lord this story broke my heart! 😪😪😪I wish Somalia fathers stop making lot of babies and leaving them, Somalia men are running from their responsibilities. A father has to be and should be a provider, a teacher, a role model, but most importantly, a distant authority figure who can never be pleased. Otherwise, how will children ever understand the concept of The society they are living in?
BS. Distress? even if true which don’t know shouldn’t keep a father away from his children. Typically, a lot of Somali men consider responsibility a distress. What a weak argument to make.
Adnan Hassan I doubt even in Somalia they don't care for their kids that's most wives sell tomatoes because they can't pay bills and kids there are lost too
In the country we call Canada its user friendly to allow children to be who they are instead of expecting them to serve beliefs that are based in old religions. Encourage these developing young people to learn the Charter of Rights. When they have understanding about how these rights apply to every Canadian citizen they will be able to form their own values about why they want to live here. Expecting children to understand the scope of a very troubled world is taking away their happiness. Just tell them the reality about gangs and how they manipulate and use innocent people to do their dirty work! Gang members have no respect for laws or religion so keep them aware and that will hopefully make them think twice. One doesnt have to join a gang to count!
You are typical Somali woman always accusing the men - we all know Somali men aways took care their children, but you know when Somali women especially those in Canada found welfare they all felt they don't need the men and they all use the western laws to kick the men out of the lives of the children - Feel sorry for those Somali men who're still marrying while living in the west - they will all regret because there is no benefit in marriage for men and there is no dignity in fatherhood!
First observation is the sister-in-law feels the pain of the guy’s death more than his own sister. Secondly, these girls are so dumb and the entire family is leaving in denial about Abdi...Finally, I agree he was set up by his friend.
The only true teller in this documentary is the woman with eyeglass, who was speaking Somali. She did try to speak up and expose the root of the problem, but she was immediately silenced by a dishonest man beside her, who warned everyone in the room about the recording. We Somalis always remain silent when bad things seem to be playing out, and then we begin to shedding crocodile tears. Some parents tend to enjoy the money being given to them by their kids without worrying and wondering how they earn it. Worse, Some parents, especially these growing single mothers (who are the main reason why these kids fall into criminal activity for kicking out their fathers...knowing that they’ll get child support & other government aid) also try to help their kids to get away with their crimes by facilitating means to leave the country, something always happens but often fails. Don’t come on camera to tell the world that your children are angels when it’s too late. My piece of advice here is keep eye on your kids now and stop blaming others. bring up your kids well and teach them the ethical decision. let them know the difference between wrong & right. Lastly, cooperate with the law enforcement agencies and make sure the well-being of your family and your community as well.
Lol the father In this case abandoned the children on purpose so he’s in fault for making they’re mom a single mother plus kids can go on the wrong path with 2 parent households as-well
Ask the somalie irresponsible Dads like you to be there, to raise their children while going back home to get marry with teenage girls. Stop blaming a working mom of 5 children... You re known for that,, stupid
Don’t air your dirty laundry for the world to see. Also, how is telling the news somalis are shooting ppl gonna stop the kids from fighting for turf and money?
Somali girls: your parents only ever want GOOD for you. Don’t run away from your culture, your religion or your people. Edit: I honestly feel bad for the gabdho. We all make mistakes but sisters, Ilaahay ka cabsada. Return to Allah insha’Allah
@@Zandiyana Some are and some aren't two wrongs doesn't make it right regardless of gender what is apparent is the Somalian people lost their identity.
This is a tragic story. Lack of good employment opportunities and one parent raising a family can make choices difficult for all humans. This is not just a problem for people of color, but for all people. I'm enraged to see the young engineer working in a kitchen and not being hired to work in his chosen profession. Racism is alive and well still in 2017. May God have mercy and protect these young men and women.
I totally agree with you but would it not be better to go back to their land of origin, Somalia ? Here, they would get at least a dignified burial service with families around them, the poor guy died and was burid withouth having his mother next to him.
@@diriyesugule3215 I couldn't say Somalia is worse in this case coz the guy is dead, seems Canada was not the safe haven they thought it was. No place is safe in this world, people are evil, period. Each place just has its own unique problems, but none is better than the other.
It is really sad to see young kids lose direction (especially if you consider where they/or their parents come from and sacrifices they have made) with opportunities available to succeed in life. whether it's their choice or circumstances lead them astray, all I see is that our young kids needs a lot of help from all stakeholders to counter this.
Jo Shammah it does seem like they need an intervention and not only asylum. Somali and Sudanese Africans just never seem to be able to get it together. You're right - it's all our responsibility.
@28:48 This gave me goosebumps. My mom texted me with “I’m scared” “Help me” and when I called her she was panicking, crying and I told her to stay on the phone. Before all of this I had been on the phone with her and she sounded strange, like her mind was somewhere else. My mom was okay after I sent my dad after her, I thank God I put a tracking app on her phone when she had lost an older phone a few years back. Always listen to that instinct, if something feels off, LISTEN.
No matter how you dress it up, thug life is thug life which leads to the death and destruction of many young people blessed by GOD with natural ability. Sad.
I think the two girls knew what they were getting themselves into when they went to Jamaica, that’s probably why they didn’t want their parents to know. That’s why they didn’t tell on the guy that supposedly tricked them with the fish! Perhaps 🤷🏽♀️
There is a saying, "ignorance is bliss".......too many young lives gone. Another quote, "What you are is God's gift to you-What you make of yourself is your gift to God". Can't be a gift when you are dead. R.I.P. Another excellent documentary.
1- The second largest crime committed by human is murder. The first is polytheism. 2 - Blood is sacred regardless of your religion, race, language or nationality. 3 -What do you expect if you have children while you living in a society completely different from your belief and culture? Can you educate them on your belief and culture? As opposed to the dominant culture in society? It's very difficult, few succeed, the dominant culture often wins. 4- What happened in this story is a clear execution. this is nothing but the tip of an iceberg. 5 - There are those behind the scenes who run organized crime and they are influential and many politicians and security service have material interests with them. 6 - Many who immigrate to the West from different cultures often become fuel for such acts, and those who survive them become just a cog in the wheel of the labor system, which is nothing but legalized slavery.

So the mum is a single parent, works hard and gets very tired. Where was the father all that time? Without a father figure the mother would struggle on her own.
The daughter said that the father wasn't very supportive and when they separated the mom went back to school and became a nurse.
I was really impressed when she said that. Using the opportunities offered by her new home country to fulfil some ambitions, and improve her education and her life. Before the programme took such a tragic turn, I had a big smile on my face at that point.

Bruh every somali parent esp mothers thinks their kids are angels and whatever bad they do is from friends n peers n blame friends instead of disciplining em
every mother think her son is a saint what do you expect...that is a natural disposition and all mothers of all nationality generally think well of their children. simpleton you are
@Deen Bloger and what do non-somali mothers of delinquents and criminals think of their children?
@Deen Bloger and other races and nationalities dont? I think re-framing the argument is not serving you right...easy to see thru your argument your bases and issues you have lol
I think you know the truth and I will leave it as that...Dont worry about Somali mothers and worry about your mothers and lets mind our business within.
So true
As a Rwandese person who survived a genocide I can even imagine the pain the parents had to go through. We all came here for a safer life. Getting that call about your son being gunned down in the streets Ohh my God. May God protect our children's and heal the hearts of his loved ones.
😊😊
Imagine running from death in Somalia to come to die in Canada it’s just not fair .

You know for sure without any doubts, you failed as a father when your son was in a gang and your daughter is an international drug smuggler.
I disagree some children go down the wrong even path when they know they were taught better
@Nikki B There is no evidence that it’s impossible but it is statistically unlikely....
Hahaha all these butt hurt parents making excuses hoping it won't be your children.. it most likely will be.
These kids have every opportunity to make their live better but they do not see the opportunities.
They see it but for some.. the street life is more fun, the danger can sometimes be an adreniline kick people can get.
It is sad though parents are moving to these places for a better future for themselves and kids because its very very bad in their homecountry yet they want to be bad. Rap music is a reason why.
More Fiyah it's not the music. It's human nature to cheat

No one dropped the ball. He graduated high school, however he made some poor decisions that can’t be blamed on parents when you’ve taught your kids right from wrong. I never felt this pain for no one as I felt for his mother. Poor soul. She felt that her son was scared, mother's feel their kids struggles.
What have you to do with his birth place ? .
Life happens. We parents raise our children.... But we can't make their choices for them....
J
The reason they moved to Canada is to stay away from Somalia for a better life in general but it’s quite unfortunate that this has to happen
the difference is the parents are marginalized and discriminated against but push through life regardless to reach their goals. the kids on the other hand who are born in Canada or came when they were young, speak the language well enough to climb up educationally but don't take profiling or discrimination easily. why should they? the generation is different. what we need is a good youth leaders and parents to be proactive in their children lives.

InshAllah we will get rid of Al-Shabab and these toxic Clan superiority ideologies.
we also need to reclaim our culture, i’ve recently realized how beautiful and rich our culture is but i think a lot of it was lost due to the war
Sad story......and Iman and Hoda are fortunate that nothing worst happened to them, they are gorgeous.
Somali fathers are part of that problem of their sons becoming gangsters because they are not part of their lives they are not bringing them up, they leave everything for the mum to do and expect good children
the problem is when the wife also becomes another husband in the house. two husbands cannot live together in the same house. one has to leave.
Somali girls are beautiful they have no makeup on and they are gorgeous
Muhiima Barre dont blame the father cause the mother might have taken advantage of the western laws and caused him stress
BS. Distress? even if true which don’t know shouldn’t keep a father away from his children.
It’s sad. Because Abdinasir could’ve had a great life instead he chooses being a full time gang member.
sad
very boy indeed
First observation is the sister-in-law feels the pain of the guy’s death more than his own sister. Secondly, these girls are so dumb and the entire family is leaving in denial about Abdi...Finally, I agree he was set up by his friend.
wtf was that music when they showed the girls in Jamaica? That isn't Jamaican music...
Me know kuko pon dem deh.
Let me guess. You're 17-22yo, not a parent and your one girlfriend broke your heart.
@@B_Bodziak how did you make that conclusion?
Lol the father In this case abandoned the children on purpose so he’s in fault for making they’re mom a single mother plus kids can go on the wrong path with 2 parent households as-well
Ask the somalie irresponsible Dads like you to be there, to raise their children while going back home to get marry with teenage girls. Stop blaming a working mom of 5 children... You re known for that,, stupid
Don’t air your dirty laundry for the world to see. Also, how is telling the news somalis are shooting ppl gonna stop the kids from fighting for turf and money?
Meanwhile there are people dying in the ocean and deserts hoping and praying to see this beautiful Country and make something out of it.
Somalian people are so beautiful to me!!! 😍😍😍
Yes we are European dipped in caramel and chocolate
Mrs Hatton ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@saffyjm77 wtf girl somali is Africa
Thank you
Much love🥰😍
Somali girls: your parents only ever want GOOD for you. Don’t run away from your culture, your religion or your people.
Edit: I honestly feel bad for the gabdho. We all make mistakes but sisters, Ilaahay ka cabsada. Return to Allah insha’Allah
H. A. How about the all the Somali boys slain by gang violence and drugs. Somali girls are a success story.
@@Zandiyana Some are and some aren't two wrongs doesn't make it right regardless of gender what is apparent is the Somalian people lost their identity.
Shazam Rx The original comment addressed Somali girls in particular.
Muna Hassan They are sexists from a sexist religion so girls are punished more for less
They are running away from sexist culture and religion that does everything to keep them down.
5:03 did the police officer throw the life snake on pavement.
He'd rather an old lady get bit
It’s a law abiding snakitizin
This is a tragic story. Lack of good employment opportunities and one parent raising a family can make choices difficult for all humans. This is not just a problem for people of color, but for all people. I'm enraged to see the young engineer working in a kitchen and not being hired to work in his chosen profession. Racism is alive and well still in 2017. May God have mercy and protect these young men and women.
I totally agree with you but would it not be better to go back to their land of origin, Somalia ? Here, they would get at least a dignified burial service with families around them, the poor guy died and was burid withouth having his mother next to him.
So it's the white canadiens fault he's dead!!!?????
Race card carrying victims!!!
@@Hasanabdulahi123 No Somalia is worse not because of civil wars and that but because ive seen dhaqan celis people and they become worse than they are
@@diriyesugule3215 I couldn't say Somalia is worse in this case coz the guy is dead, seems Canada was not the safe haven they thought it was. No place is safe in this world, people are evil, period. Each place just has its own unique problems, but none is better than the other.
Somalis don't work anywhere they go lol
It is really sad to see young kids lose direction (especially if you consider where they/or their parents come from and sacrifices they have made) with opportunities available to succeed in life. whether it's their choice or circumstances lead them astray, all I see is that our young kids needs a lot of help from all stakeholders to counter this.
Jo Shammah it does seem like they need an intervention and not only asylum. Somali and Sudanese Africans just never seem to be able to get it together. You're right - it's all our responsibility.
thank god I learned my lesson growing up in Canada as a Somali kid
31 murders unsolved is the real problem. Rest in peace
the sister inlow is amazing
This is heart breaking I feel sorry for the poor mother.
Very sad story all around . I pray this family can heal from this tragedy 💕
Too heartbreaking to watch subhanllah. May Allah have mercy on him
The old Somali people talking though 😂😂🔥
Walahi
6 - Many who immigrate to the West from different cultures often become fuel for such acts, and those who survive them become just a cog in the wheel of the labor system, which is nothing but legalized slavery.
so obvious the friend set him up. he whent to get food and was gone several hours?
