First glimpse of Alaska | USA | Sixty and Travelling
The moment you say, Alaska, the expectation quotient sky rockets. One starts thinking of ocean, icebergs, wildlife, snow-covered mountains, marshland and what not ---- all at the same time.
After landing at Anchorage, our expectation quotient was also sky high, further fuelled by the extraordinary sights of terrain below from the flight itself. So when we set out for our first glimpse of Alaska on Seward Highway on way from Anchorage to Seward, the atmosphere was surcharged with excitement about what is in store for us.
And Alaska did not disappoint us at all. On the contrary, we were totally mesmerised, indeed stunned, just looking at the unbelievable natural beauty of the place. Be it the mighty Pacific Ocean, or snow covered mountain peaks, or glaciers, or marshlands, or wildlife like moose and bears or simply strong cool breeze -- there was absolutely nothing about Alaska which was not extraordinary.
So like school children, we were totally excited and enjoyed all the way this four hour dreamlike journey from Anchorage to Seward.
More, even bigger excitement, is in store for us after reaching Seward.
