Wow! Props to Toro for providing this video. Most companies these days don't want the "everyday Joe" doing a DIY fix, and would rather they just buy a brand new mower.

Thank you for this video!!!! My belt jumped off the rear wheel drive shaft and was easy to get back on once I watched this video! It took about 45 mins to get everything off and on again (draining gas to starting back up)! Thanks again for this video!

Thank you so much. I have the exact same mower (the front wheel drive model) in the video. I wasn't 100% sure how to change the belt. This just saved me a whole bunch of time especially since my mower is used and things are a lot harder to see.

Thanks very much for the video. My only critique is that mowers that are having the belt replaced, which require the blade be removed, should be removed with a socket wrench with a breaker bar. Trying to get that blade bolt off is practically impossible without a breaker bar. Another tip some aren't aware of is to wedge a piece of wood between the deck and blade, which will hold the blade in place as your turning the wrench.
What I also think you might want to include is the torque required on the bolt when its reinserted. A loose blade is dangerous.
I will say one thing though, this 22' recycler, fwd mower is the best one I've ever had. I've had it for 6 yrs, and with very little maintenance, it still starts on the first or second pull. Better than any others I've owned.
I do have one question that perplexed me. I'm doing a full out maintenance job on the mower, and was going to change the oil. When I went to purchase oil, I noticed the store still selling the exact same model. On the rack advertising specs, it said "No oil replacement needed for the life of the engine" How is this even possible? Engines burn oil and eventually need changed, or the engine will freeze up. Please explain.

Very helpful! Got my FIL's mower fixed after it ate the drive belt.

Great video, I wasn't sure about how to get the belt in the back with my awd version. I didn't notice those additional screws along the side and behind.

Excellent! Thanks so much! It was a snap to change both the blade and the drive belt on my rear wheel drive Toro.

No oil change is necessary, however you technically still have to add oil, but you never have to drain the old oil or replace an oil filter.

Easy job. But now I know I need to replace both baffles too... Engine still runs great after 5 years. Still cheaper than a new mower. Thanks for the assist Toro!
The only improvement I'd make would be adding a prefilter for the air filter. I mostly use mine to keep a heavily wooded backyard under control and throw up lots of fine particulates, use a new filter after every backyard mowing weekend.

Great video and very helpful. I know you were working on the 22inch with rear wheel drive - I have a 19inch super recycler with rear wheel drive and the transmission tunnel is the same as the one you show, however, I am just wondering what kind of screwdriver you used to undo the 3 bolts on the transmission tunnel? I have tried every kind of torx screwdriver with no luck and even Allen keys don't work - I tried several other screwdrivers, but nothing seems to work. Can you tell me what you used? Thanks

Oh, one more thing.... those bolts that hold the drive pully/gear box in, take a square head bit. All my sets only include star or octogon bits, so gotta make a special trip to the store for square head bits :0( why the didn't use hex bolts or at least a more common head is beyond me.

Where can I buy the belt? I have been to 5 stores and can’t find one. Ridiculous that Home Depot sells these and didn’t have the belt

old-style Ace hardware stores (ones that don't look like a Walgreens drug store) my local store had 4 different Toro drive belts, and they aren't even a Toro repair shop

Why did they make the belt so much work to change? Seems like a stupid design.

Really can't believe he didn't say what size sockets and bit sizes were used for this ... incredible... tools used in the description would have saved me 30 minutes ... Toro you guys gotta do better than this. Not all of us have a shop where we work on garden tools all day ...we're not gonna know instinctively what the tool specifics are . Even the Chinese guys are putting the required tools in their descriptions.
