    You and I were raised a lot alike. I'm as country as country gets. I really enjoy listening to your stories. You need to write a book. I've written and published two true crime books. Fishing book with some good story telling. Gotta love it! Thanks Steve. Great entertainment.

    You were talking you wanted to be buried overlooking the lake. My wishes are that my ashes go in the lake and a small portion hidden in the rail of my boat. The wife can keep a little to for the shelf LOL. When the Lord calls me home this body really means nothing to me. Love your show and watch it daily.

      Steve Comalander you're certainly welcome its my pleasure to watch. You catch the biggest white perch I've ever seen. I couldn't believe it when I first saw one of your vids

      Hey Kent, Its funny, people at one time were looking down at someone fishing for those little white perch. Now after they have watched my videos, they see what size they can get. I absolutely love catching white perch, especially three at a time, You Gotta Luv It, thanks for watching The Old Fisherman.

      Steve Comalander I love white perch myself but where I'm from in Elizabeth City, NC you come across maybe 1 or 2 that size not every time you reel in I'd love to fish there!!! I'm half your age but I've loved fishing since a lil boy. I can fish from sun up to sun down

    • @theoldfisherman2040

      Hey Kent, when it gets cold in the winter, you need to check humps next to the deepest part of the lake and use my winter time technique on your lake. If your lake is a clear water lake you need to go deep 35 to 60 plus of water. You might find out the bigger perch are in deep water.

    I like your stories. And what's with hitting the boat with the net handle?

    • @theoldfisherman2040
      @theoldfisherman2040  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes if you bump the bottom of the boat , the fish will stir up off the bottom and go to biting, especially in deep water in the winter. Thanks so much for watching The Old Fisherman videos.

    Steve, is your bait casting rod a fast action in the tip? I am trying to learn white perch catching here in Pennsylvania, and its fun and they're great eating fish! Love your vids!!

    • @theoldfisherman2040
      @theoldfisherman2040  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Paul, for perch I prefer a medium to fast action on my perch rod 6ft. 6inch and a 7 ft. rod. That method is best in cold weather. Thanks for watching The Old Fisherman catching them white perch.

    Do you have a video showing your rigging (baits) setup?

    • @theoldfisherman2040
      @theoldfisherman2040  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Tim, on some of my earlier videos I give some close up looks at the rig. I tie a barrel swivel to my line going to my rod. Then I take about 30 inch of line and crimp the line over 10 inch from the end, I tie the double line to the swivel. I tie a 1/4 jig head to the 10 inch line, then I tie the 20 inch line to another swivel. Then I repeat that step again. Tie another jig on the 10 inch line, now on 20 inch line tie another swivel on. From that swivel add a 8 inch line, then tie a1/2 or 3/4 spoon.

    • @theoldfisherman2040
      @theoldfisherman2040  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Elijah, I use a fast action 7 ft. , but a stiffer rod will work also.
