    My buddy loves his, not the recall on his paint so much (yellow) but KIA is all over that! Repainting all metal surfaces, paying for the rental and $5K for the inconvience...and if your not happy with the repaint, they'll give you another Stinger GT of a different color, that's making things right and then some IMO!
    These cars really stand out on the road! I love the Guilia Quadrifoglio for sure but coming off of an extra $38k makes you have to really think, these things are freight trains =========

      Klasse Act no other companies would do what you said like Benz bmw and all those companies would turn you down would never offer you what you mentioned Kia and Huyndai have best warranty and best customer service and I think they honour their warranty and not only that they go above the limit means they will do things not even in warranty like you just mentioned to make their customers happy

    I got an AWD 2020 GT 2 weeks ago.Fantastic car--chose it over others because of the warranty.It also tops out at 167 which is one of the fastest cars you can buy under 60k.Also the V6 engine is so strong that You only need to use the turbos on passing or testing the power.The AWD pulls off the line like a gunshot.

    Former BMW f30 335i M sport...Huge fan of the i-6, love the styling, feel etc. But a test drive of the BMW 340i with MPPK and then the Stinger GT2, the Stinger was the one I woke up thinking about the next morning.

    Mr. Maran, I have a suggestion. You should ad the specs of the car such as engine type, hp, weight, 1/4 mile, msrp in the description below. Also, in a box in your video.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      I appreciate the suggestion. I don't like to clutter up the description box too much but if more people would like to see this I can incorporate it in future videos. In my regular Review videos I always say all the specs after I do my acceleration. If you're curious on all the specs of the Stinger, you can hear them in my full review video I did last fall. It's linked at the end of this video.

      We have over 7,000 miles on our GT2 awd. The awd option is easily worth two grand if you want all four wheels powered due to the torque vectoring with brakes and also power. It’s a baby GTR sedan.

    Friend of mine got one. GT1 - road tripped it ~200 miles and it was extremely comfy. Got mid 20s for mileage. I didn't drive it, but it really feels pretty planted and definitely put together well. I'm not to keen on spending $50k on a KIA, but if I had the cash, I would definitely consider.

    I test drove a GT2 RWD over the weekend as I'm looking for a sport sedan as my next purchase. I'm coming from a 1992 nissan 300zx twin turbo with 360whp/350tq.
    The GT2 I drove went above and beyond what I was expecting, I INSTANTLY fell in love when the salesman pulled up with the GT2, and after hopping in and turning it on.. WOW the comfort, the power, the drivability, the technology.. I cant stop watching reviews and videos on this beautiful car.
    Next weekend I will be test driving the 2019 Infiniti q50.

    Setting these in person, even better! The wheel and tire combo looks really sexy in the car you're testing! Kia knocked it out of the park. FYI, those numbers for horsepower and torque are underrated! Those numbers are closer to the wheels and over 400lbs torque.

  • @BrandoDrum

    People complain about the body roll but it's wild how well setup these cars are for really tight twisty mountain roads. Took my 2019 to the NC mountains a year or so ago with my dad in his 2015 Carrera 4S (manual) and he literally couldn't keep up. Between the Stinger's superior low-end torque and torque vectoring AWD I was going through tight sections so much faster than he could muster without getting some scary oversteer. the 911 is just setup for a high-speed circuit and that's fine but translated to mostly a boring 2nd gear only experience in some of America's most amazing mountain roads. The Stinger however was more fun than even the 2015 Cayman S my dad traded for his 911...

    11:54 I believe that the bolsters are leatherette, not leather or nappa leather. Some people dig their elbows into the seat to turn themselves while getting out (in?). It must be an unconscious maneuver. A Stinger owner I read about on Stingerforum.org. had his seat replaced and within two weeks the new bolster was showing wear in exactly the same place.
    The shifter in the GT1 is taller for a reason: it has a very handy, cool manual gate feature that keeps the transmission in manual mode; you can either shift by bumping and pulling the stick shift, or using the paddle shifters, easily switching back and forth between them as desired. I really like my manual gate! I have no desire to give that up for drive by wire in the GT2.

    My Australian Stinger doesn't have ambient lighting but it does have the 360° parking cameras which totally solve the poor rear visibility and make parking in tight areas a piece of cake. Wireless phone charging is nice too though Apple Carplay and Android Auto only work via USB so wireless is kind of pointless.

    We love our Stinger GT2 AWD. Took it on a 1,500 mile road trip and it was so comfortable and quiet and got 29 mpg on the whole trip, including around town about 100 miles on throttle. Considered the Giulia but I'll take the 5% less edge for practicality and to be out of the shop ;) Our 124 Spider is for the super twisty roads!

The fact that it has a "Kia" badge on the hood, some people just can't get over that., it's why you still hear the stupid comments.. "YEAH, BUT it's still a Kia " I have absolutely no 2nd thoughts forking over 55k to kia, more options and less time in the service department than the other German counterparts,, I have experienced with the SXL for the last 5 years, so that's why I have full confidence in Kia., no badge whoring here.. I test drove a Kia Stinger GT2 .... I'll say this .... if your focus is on "BRANDING" & Image .... don't buy this car ... If you want overall performance, quality & best bang for you buck ... This car is the 'ISH & LEGIT .... Drive & ride quality is smooth .... Performance is excellent & better than the Infiniti Q50 3.0t Sport/Red Sport .... Smokes the new Acura TLX V-6 SH-AWD .... Better options at the price point than the BMW 3, 4 or 5 series as well as the Mercedes C or E series & Audi A5. Albert Biermann did the performance & quality of the Kia Stinger GT2 right

  • @frumpd63

    I leased a Ceramic Silver GT1 AWD w/ drivewise for three days / 250 miles before the deal fell apart over paint damage the dealer inflicted. I think it's a bit misleading that almost all reviewers are making blanket statements about the Stinger's performance based on the GT2 trim (LSD) with summer tires. My GT1's non-LSD rear end really got floaty / sloppy when you push it (no matter the drive mode) and the 18 inch all season's added insult to injury. It could have been the tires, but my car was also pretty unsteady when cruising at triple digit speeds. It was definitely fast as hell in a straight line and certainly looked the business, but the specific trim makes a big difference in how the Stinger drives.The fuel economy was also truly horrible, no matter the mode and the dealer treated me like I was leasing a Soul. I ended up in a Giulia Ti Sport instead, and it's worked out far better for my needs, though my previous vehicle being a MK7 could have something to do with it.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Pretty similar actually, but the Stinger is a little flatter and more composed. The CTS V-Sport is a stellar handler too and before the Stinger and Alfa, it was near the top of my sport sedan list for best handlers.

The question is should I just trade in the Sonata and use the Stinger as my daily( I do have a family but we usually use the wife's SUV) or keep the Sonata and buy the Stinger as a weekend, going out type car?

      Thanks Matt, I am now the proud owner of a RWD 2019 Stinger GT1 in ceramic silver. Wanted red interior but settled for black. The RWD offers plenty of traction and for $2000 less. And in Phoenix the AWD isn't necessary. The only thing I plan to do is change out the factory exhaust which is a little lame. Keep up the good work!

    So if you had to pick one or the other, would you choose this or a Scatpack Charger??

    • @IReahpZz
      @IReahpZz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blake Patterson stinger beats it in every department alone from sound. If you have to have a v8 then go for the scat but if you want awd and better handling along with all the goodies, the stinger is hands down the better driving car. I wanted a scat to replace my tuned taurus sho but chose a q60 Rs over it due to a few Lacking features and feeling very boaty around corners

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'd take the Stinger. The Charger is a blast but the Stinger is more luxurious which I think I'd appreciate in a daily driver, plus it's much safer. The dated platform the Charger is on means it doesn't perform well in the newer (more challenging) crash tests.

    • @CARBONHAWK1

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never driven the base Stinger 4 cylinder so I can't say regarding those. A base Stinger GT is still cheaper than the base Alfa though and like I say in the video, I'd pick the Stinger GT.

    • @MrRyanS1983
      @MrRyanS1983 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      M1MyRifle the base Stinger is the better car. Whether it’s the 2.0 or 3.3 Stinger as Matt said both cheaper and more fun. While more fun to me anyway. I tried them all and bought the 2.0 Stinger. It’s just a matter of what trim level you want. The Alfa has reliability issues, poor dealership network, and poorly designed infotainment. It’s also better than BMW 430i and 440i as far as price and power.

      It was a concern of mine. It is wide enough and even though the height is less than a typical sedan there is absolutely no issue seeing traffic behind. You can see the entire road behind you and many car lengths deep. People comment because of its appearance not because of its practical utility. Human nature.
