Another way to do it without destroying the integrity of the parts is to use a hardened chisel and a hammer or mallet to make a indented line in the headless bolt then you can undo it with a flathead screwdriver.
to the 17 thumbs down.........this video shows that if u slot the bolts as the kid does they can easily turn.MOST PEOPLE spend ten times longer hacking away at the whole bracket or thru the bolts with a grinder.... this is why the human race cant haven nice things.. hating on a kid showing us something very useful.... hang thy heads in shame. who did you help today..........
I agree 100%!!!! I am pretty sure that not only did he just educate me on why my steering wheel locked up after putting in a new ignition but what a clever solution for those funky bolts!!!
This is the dangerous ratchet way though. You shouldn’t have to use a grinder lol. You can make an indent on the bolt with a flathead and hammer, and then hit that indent/ notch with the flathead/ hammer to turn the bolt.. lol I’ve done it like this on quite a few steering lock deletes.
so i acquired nice car last night without any keys and this was very helpful thanks!
A video that actually told me how to get the steering lock and delete it. No other video on TH-cam shows this unique technique. THANKS
Not bad for a young man with the barest of tools. Keep at it!

Just what I thought, had to search for a confirmation. Worked on a 2006 Mazda 6
What car do you buy without keys?
The car was a bare metal shell when I bought it had a spare ignition barrel with the parts it came with but there was no key
Every body pull out ur grinder we all Cary in our back pocket
I did that and it's still stuck
Just throw the spare parts in the trash....good as new!
