      @@onewish6023 if your 5’7, you need around a 40 inch vert to dunk, which is not common in the nba, I’m 5’11 almost 6’ at 14 and I can barely touch the rim

    Love this. You’re a genius my friend! There’s a gap in the research on this topic isn’t there? Tried to find articles looking at lateral strength or abductor strength correlation with vertical jump performance. If you know of any research that covers this topic I’d love if you can drop a link or something in the comment reply.

      Most articles are only looking at standing vertical too that I can find. Not a running vert which obviously as said in the video typically results in a rotation and lateral ground reaction force of the block foot

      it will help you get a better vertical jump over time, if you improve your vertical then learn the right form to launch yourself in long jump it will definitely help

    Im trying to switch my block foot with my left since ive been using my right foot as my block foot. But im too scared to be an aggressive 2 foot jumper since I got an eversion ankle sprain 5 months ago. Any tips for ankle strecthes before doing the workouts?

      I think a good way to prevent eversion is to twist your foot so that most of the force is going down the length of your foot and into the achilles tendon instead of sideways into your ankle. Also don’t try to catch yourself (stop the forward movement) on your trailing foot instead do it with your block foot, that should help alleviate some of the pressure on your ankle too.

      Yes because your making both legs strong so on leg for one foot is getting stronger so yes it does help

      most all vertical jump exercises help both forms of jumping, even if one a little more than the other. In this case i’d say it helps both forms equally

    No volleyball this winter. No gym access. Been dunking in my driveway, snow's around the corner and will put an end to that. I'll be doing this exercise outside all winter until it's warm enough for my ball to bounce again.

    Nope. Periodization training builds strength then does a conversion to sports specific power. This is exercise for sport specific power phase.
    No strength base no gains. One more thing
    There will be an 8 to 10% gain with any vert program in 3 weeks because the afferent and efferent systems learn to work together.
    After that its 2% per month.
    There are no short cuts.
