Swing 77 picks up the Sim and it almost out preforms the hour long fitting. I mean when you have what you like it doesn’t matter the R&D and how many years have gone by it’s about what works, not what’s the newest and shiny. I’m still gaming a 915 D4, I’ve tried damn near everything in the last 5 years and that 10 year old driver always ends up back in the bag.
This Driver is a lot better than my SIM. TSr was always quicker than my SIM but as I’ve said for the past few months I had a spinny miss with TSr. I didn’t have that with GT3, really excited to see that on the course.

Yall need to do a video on swing weight and grip size. So many people and don't understand how much those two factors play into consistently delivering the club face. It would also be nice you guys to give the viewers a good way to determine what grip size they are without then having to go out and buy a ton of grips.
Went to a GT fitting at Gleneagles. Hit 5 right down the pipe with my TSI and the fitter said : Why do you want a new driver?!! I said simple I’m 63 and I need 95 and 140 as my base rather than my one off max. After 20 mins we were dialled in to a GT3 11 deg with a MMT Speedmesh 40 stiff set at A1 and constantly achieving the aforementioned was well chuffed especially as the gains had better dispersion numbers also. Please note Fraz happy to come over to Canada to see if you and Mikey can improve me further 😂👍 Doubly delighted that Clement has extended to 2028 🇬🇧
The big difference is the twist face. The SIM is a high right block machine. All the TM drivers since the twist face started - high right miss ruins them. They are just not made for people that miss on the toe with an inside out and up on it path.
@@1974jrodboth are factors, as is CG position being forward, face depth being shallow which lowers CG leading to more vertical gear effect which lowers spin and makes to easier to curve.

Looking into a new (to me) driver as I don’t have one right now, M2 finally cracked lol. Sim is one I’m looking at, it’s sure making a good case versus newer products haha
@@cliveg8350 the 1k that comes standard in the Driver & Fairway is a made for shaft. the aftermarket one is called 1k PRO blue whereas the standard Titleist one is called 1k Blue and all of the specs are completely different to the specs on the Mitsubishi website (weights & Torques) I believe Ian used a legitimate one for his fitting tho
I think Ian needs a Qi Core 9 degree turned down with some toe hot melt. Get up to the Kingdom with Trottie and handpick a tour core model head measuring 8 base loft
What is meant by a 45 inch shaft? Does this mean that one inch is cut off a raw shaft, or does this mean the overall driver is 45 inches. If you have a 45 inch shaft, install the adjustable hozel, and the attach the head you have a longer driver than 45 inches. Any clarification?
I wasn't a fan of the 2 in ANYTHING because "I don't like the shape, it's too bulky, I like to shape the ball & I'm also a very good driver of the golf ball" *put TSR2 in the bag . Lost zero distance or shaping ability & hit more fairways. It took me about 3 rounds to forget I was looking down at a 2. Park the ego ppl. *TSR2- Ventus Velecore Blue 6s & avg 294.4 currently at 52 yrs old. Just sayin'.
This video has made me lose all faith in the channel. The numbers here are totally different to in the studio…. To the point where this driver fitting seems almost to be a sham, as the numbers are no better than his current gamer, and yet the way they are rambling on is like the new GT is a great improvement, when it is not at all. I’ve hit both side by side. There’s a difference, moving the CG forward as the have keeps spin lower, while ball speed is a little quicker BUT the biggest change is the spin staying far more consistent than TSR.
If i did hit the Ping the same distance then i would use it but i dont. I’ve had it on the golf course and i dont hit it as far, plus I still hit crooked shots with it.
@@nicholasthorstensen6213you think wrong. All our Quad’s are set to 450ft above sea level which is what we are at in Toronto. GC Quad estimates carry distance slightly too high due to the algorithm they use. Nothing to do with our settings.
@@bradfortner8921 I say this as a guy who buys a new head every 5 years or so but in the end, we are much better served replacing our wedges. Drivers don't improve much over the last 3-5 years.
Thats configurable by the user. The shot monitor itself isn't doing anything except giving you lab data- which is another consideration- radar systems like trackman show you more accurate 'what did I actually just hit' data outdoors.
Did you watch till the end? My best Drive with SIM was 164 ball speed, my best with GT3 was 169 ball speed. It’s it even close, given a few months of playing it GT3 will be a really nice upgrade.
Everyone is worried about ball speed. Wow, 163 mph ball speed but you're spinning at 2900 rpm. Wouldn't make more sense to maximize spin and launch conditions first.

For avg swing speed mid 2000's and for someone slower like me (90 mph swing) I have found that 2500-3000 works good to keep the ball in the air longer. To low of a spin if you miss, it could spell disaster. Like dsc-nr5zy said, if you already draw the ball and one comes out high tow that drops the spin too much it will just be a slow snap hook.

2900 is still very playable on a course. if it were 3900, sure he would be losing distance but I don't think Ian would have an issue with 2900 at all depending on the strike, especially if its a mis hit. People always chasing sub 2k for the ultimate once in a 20 swing bomb. Thats too low
Crazy seeing Ian so inconsistent with driver. Proves that golf really IS a tough game. Didn't get the feeling that this fitting produced anything great for Ian. Must be a bit awkward when you are basically doing a promo for Titleist with the fitting and the product really isn't producing anything special..
I really really liked the driver. I think the issue was we didn’t populate the data like we normally do for you guys to see the comparison table. We will be doing that next week.
Observation…why was the Taylormade Sim (competitor to Titleist) taken as your gamer to get fit for a Titleist GT when your “WITB” gamer that just posted 10 days ago was/is a Titleist? I understand you guys are looking for content…but don’t you think transparency would be more credible? Going from your current Titleist to the GT is probably not much of a difference/improvement?
A much more interesting “fitting” experience would be to stop at the Big 3 while in San Diego…Callaway - TaylorMade - Titleist. Get fit independently through each of their processes than take each of their builds into a head-to-head match to see who “fits” best outdoors on the range. The outdoor numbers posted seem very different (slower) than all of the indoor driver tests posted. Considering most of us play golf outdoors, let’s get more real world, actual intelligence that is applicable.
Thanks for the clarification. Outdoor speeds seemed much slower initially compared to indoor WITB (106-115mph is a big range)? Was this Titleist fitting filmed before the “WITB”?
@@KurtMaier-r1q yes it was around 5 weeks before my recent WITB. Remember though Trackman reads Club Head speed 2-3mph slower than GC Quad. So 110-112 on Trackman is pretty quick.

Titleist have not had " made for" shafts for many years, so it is exact same shaft.

When a fitting turns into a lesson, time to call it off. One good shot doesn't mean it's perfect fit. Its about the averages and managing the misses.
Swing speed in the studio is 112-114 and now its 107-110 during this fitting??
Trackman and Foresight measure swing speed at different points, I believe. I'm sure a quick Google search can explain.
Foresight usually higher
The ball speed is normally the same even though it measures the club speed at different point of the swing
Trackman measures swing speed at the point of compression. Foresight measures swing speed before contact. Foresight will usually show 2-3mph faster

If i did hit the Ping the same distance then i would use it but i dont. I’ve had it on the golf course and i dont hit it as far, plus I still hit crooked shots with it.

Spin is control. If your miss is a hook, then low spin is a nightmare

If someone has a fairly neutral AOA to slightly down with driver, do you look more to a forward CG head or a rear CG?
