How about "most intimidating physiques of all time" not necessarily from an fighting kind of standpoint. But more of "if this dude gets ahold of you you're done". Some bodybuilders could be included like Ronnie, Greg Kovacs or Victor Richards. But also powerlifters strongmen and pro wrestlers. Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Joe Ladnier, Jeep Swenson, Brian Shaw, Halfthor, Josh Silvas, Andre the Giant or example.
@peterstrangar662 true lol. A few more guys you could add to this list would be James Henderson, Bob Sapp(even tho he lost alot in mma, he had the look) Big Van Vader, Frank Budlewski, Morgan Aste, Richard Schoenbeger, The Big Show, Eddie Hall and Cleve Dean. More of "the guy you'd see as a bodyguard/bouncer appearance" than aesthetics. Like he guy who looks like he eats the classic physique lineup for breakfast lol
He was amazing in 95, but he did go too heavy later. His shape was always a bit off though, large back but not great double biceps pose and an arm asymmetry greater than Dexter's in some years. Legs lacked balance too, but he was still a beast.
Sergio Olivia was mass monster but with class! look at his early photos, he had a very pleasing, balanced body shape with a 28 inch waist!! He was very aesthetic in the early stages of his career! He too would score high in this list!
I am requesting this yet again!!! Do a video on bodybuilders that competed against others that you wouldn’t have expected! Like you said Makkaway competed against Larry Scott? Seems like they are in two different eras, but super cool. Whole video like that!
Did you not listen to the video? He said multiple times that the list is made of bodybuilders who have achieved success due to their aesthetics. Bob while extremely aesthetic, never placed ahead of 10th place in the Olympia.
Hey Max, an interesting video to do would be ranking every Olympia runner-up from best to worst. Could be an in-general ranking, based of a specific criteria. Could be an interesting video. We all know the winners and some uncrowned champions but perhaps a video encompassing all the runner ups would be a cool toss up
One of the bodybuilders who rarely gets mentioned but had wonderful aesthetics and conditioning far ahead of its time is Rick Wayne. The famous photographs of him with Arnold, Frank Zane, Franco, Dave Draper and Chuck Colrass indicates that he should have taken the Olympia that year, if he had been encouraged to compete, which I doubt was the case - more politics, perhaps.
There's a reason why no one is saying "Ronnie!" Aesthetic is not mere opinion, it's the brain's sense of symmetry and proportion. The brain likes order and flow (in most people.) P.S. Zane for the win here. The man has more iconic symmetry and aesthetic shots than anyone alive. Plus no one captured "Greek statue" like Zane.

A lot of comments about guys from the 60's and 70's and I agree that plenty of those guys had great aesthetics even though they had a good deal of muscle: Arnold, Sergio, Mentzer, Samir, etc.
Frank Dane is n. 1. I'lmve always liked his lines. To mention an uncommon one, I think the early Nasser El Sonbaty had great aesthetics. Before he turned into a mass monster he really looked the likes of Lee Labrada and Bob Paris.
Everyone has their own opinion, and mine is that #1 by a mile is shown at 09:43 of this video. And I'm not trying to hate on the guy, but I always thought that Frank Zane always just looked a bit cachectic on stage around guys like Danny Padilla, Robbie Robinson and Mike Mentzer.

Of course Frank Zane is #1. He looked like a moving Greek statue. In a book I have by Arnold, he said Zane "practically owned" the vacuum pose in 15:23.

Sorry there mate, it's not about the size, its about the overall muscle balance and shape, IE: an x frame! That's why Samson Dauda won the Mr O, and Andrew Jacks could do so too. Its not how much size of muscle you can build, and you are wasting your time if you think it is! Its down to your genetics, not the amount of gear you take! Thats why , unless the current Mr O judging criteria changes again, the shorter squatter bodybuilders wont cut it.
His puny forearms and lollipop calves keep him from even being in the running as far as I'm concerned. His quads are not well shaped either. So many other guys from the past blow him out of the water.
@@samueltaylor9935 I'm saying his tiny forearms and lollipop calves are not aesthetic or balanced. And that's the whole point of the video. Having good poses is not the same thing as having a fully aesthetic body. Nick Walker had great shots, but his body is a mess aesthetically. You need more than an X frame and small waist to be ranked as a top 10 in BB history. Lots of guys had that and more.

Frank zane is crazy overrated. Flex wheeler is way more aesthetic. Terrible order in the list. The new generation gives flex no credit. How flex is not top 2 is unbelievable. If you were around back then, Ramy was by far and i mean BY FAR the fan favourite, and the fact that he lost to an overly pregnant Phil in 2017, caused SO MUCH upset in the general bodybuilding fandom, that it essentially forced the judged to not tolerate the gut anymore. Then Phil returned with the same gut in 2018, and the rest is history. Rhoden actually KNEW, that Phil would not win with that gut, after what happened. That's why he was so confident throughout the competition.
They came up with Aesthetic to make the small guys feel better. Frank Zane the most overrated BB of all time. Guy looked like a normal guy that did some pushups and sit ups for a couple years
Aesthetic means big muscles and no bubble gut. Actually small waist. V-taper lats/back, ripped arms, chest and quads. It’s actually very hard to achieve while on gear.
