Just started a job at BWW as a server and this vid was really helpful! Loved tip #5, needed that bit of encouragement because it’s been a little overwhelming since this is my first server job
Lucas Gale Ayyy congrats!! That’s awesome! And I’m really glad this helped! When I was making it, I wasn’t sure how many would see it, but I was hoping that at LEAST one person would benefit from it, so that’s what’s up.
This was great!!! Thank you!! Things i didn’t even think about!! Unlike a lot of other server videos, I can tell you’re very genuine and you’ll get more tips just because you don’t complain about those who don’t have the money to tip you a lot. I would love to see more videos in this topic if you can💕 I thoroughly enjoyed this. It put me at a lot of ease. New subbie
@@TinaMarieJ Bet! Best of luck! Also, happens to see your channel just now and I’m excited cause that is exactly what I’m going through. Gonna check out your content tomorrow 😌👌🏾
So iii have a question! I’ve had a few server jobs and I’ve found this helpful for me at least to stay organized when taking down orders on say medium to large tables to ask from the jump are we all going to be on the same ticket or is this one going to be separate bc I’ve asked after taking orders when it’s check time and going back to the kiosk things being a total mess not knowing who’s food is who’s and what all goes on what and just in general getting really overwhelmed that I was going to mess up someone’s ticket. Is it rude to ask at the very beginning?
Thank you so much!! I appreciate it!! And I literally JUST quit my job last month. I worked at a news spot that was amazing and I only quit cause I moved to a new state. But I would love staying there if I could.
@@24thejojo yeah I’m considering but lately I’ve been focused on my side job as a Life Coach and building that business. But I definitely may return and work at a different spot here in ATL.
@@DeezyRYG cool man, follow your passions. If they don't quite pay the bills use your server abilities to pay the bills and supplement your other endeavors until they go big.
You are good Denzel, tip #3 is so important; I always thought that servers hide somewhere waiting for when you are at the best, deepest point of a conversation to come to ask the useless and annoying manual book question "is everything ok?" I hope we all drop that silly question.
@@DeezyRYG thank you! I forgot to ask 2 questions at my interview... hoping you'll be able to answer. 1. How is tip out handled ? What % goes to bartender, host etc? 2. Do servers get their own drinks and run their own food? P.s I will be working primarily T/Th/Fr evenings ! One more question, what are the typical evening shift hours ?
Plus on making a vid. I'm going to continue the vid might come back after. I'm just a noob I'm 23 just started just need to watch before I get to sever
I'm guilty of sloppy handwriting! I hate those tiny little guest check pads! You don't have to use those! Get yourself some plain paper pads from the dollar tree. It's life changing lol! They also make really nice server books with extra pockets and slots that make life so much easier. I've been a server forever! you seem to be off to a great start! Keep up the great work! BONUS TIP guests love it when you remember their names/drink orders. That's how you get your regulars and regulars are where you start to get the real money!
Sorry. I'm glad you find happiness in serving tables and just overall making people happy. But for me personally if tipping was taken away from serving. I wouldn't work in the industry. Period.
Haha, I don’t find that hard to believe. I think a lot of the ones I knew took their job seriously but when I go to other spots it doesn’t seem that way. And toward the end before I left to a more nice restaurant I noticed my co workers seemed to not care as much either.

This is great advice! I applied for a couple jobs as a server and host at a restaraunt. This couldn't have come at a better time!
Hey! Did you get the jobs??
@@DeezyRYG I got turned down at Chili's and not sure about the other one.
I'd definitely have you as my trainer! Thanks for the tips!
