You have all the theory, videos and tests necessary to learn everything about our industry and how to be a good waiter/waitress! Visit the site and start learning! Best of luck!
Go into each table fresh. Don’t let the last tables energy affect the next tables experience. “Don’t complain about the result you didn’t see for the work you didn’t do”
Have to read the table properly, that's the art of it all. Pay attention to their mood, mannerism, cues to how they wish to be treated. Always be aware of the occasion..ask...be open ended and place it in the guest hands.
I have you to thank for FINALLY landing a job after 30+ interviews. I took the format you laid out in another vid and got serious and took my business casual outfit to a blazer /power suit. The manager (another female) was checking me out as we spoke. Nails etc. I was on point and offered the job on the spot. Thank you!
Hi E M! I love to hear those kinds of things! Great news! Now you should follow my other advice and prepare yourself to be a great new waiter at this place so very body loves you from day one! Best of luck and let us know how did it go!
This true. Small talks are one of the strenght to be a pro. Im working in a cruise line for fine dining restaurant and all these videos are helpful to gain my skills. Bravo Ned!!
What cruise line do you work in? If everything goes fine I will be working for Celebrity Cruises as a snack attendant for a first time. What tips can you give me or maybe we can even exchange contacts so we can talk on this subject. Thank you in advance for your help. I am looking forward for our meeting. Have a nice day! :D
Today I remembered some of your tips and used them. How to behave when the guest pretend, that he did not see you even though you greeted him and continues to talk to others.
Waiting is my first job today. I struggle with social anxiety but this video is very helpful!! I mostly cashed today, but I cant wait to actually wait tables.
i start may 15 at a 4.9 star restaurant (first job ever) 😅 any tips? also, how r u doing now in terms of social anxiety? can u handle ppl now? honestly i’m only worried about the first day and spilling food on ppl. i feel like i’ll have lots of energy since it’s summer
Thank you! I just had my first week as a waiter, and I'm glad I watched all of your videos! Never been a waiter before, but I'm so glad I got a job, and especially at one of the best restaurant in my town. Small talk is a difficulty for me, but I think will manage to improve myself after this video!
Thank you Layla, for watching and for commenting! I am glad I've been of help! Small talk gets easier with experience! Give yourself time! Best of luck with the job!
@@DanteAndTheTrees I got a new job now. At the start of the pandemic, the restaurant did manage to survive with gourmé - meal boxes, but they hardly made any money. And then the government told us to not sell any alcohol, so they had shut down. I feel sorry for the owner, it was a great place to have bbq and steaks, locally sourced meat, but hope and good will didn't pay the bills. It was a good job with good co-workers and manager, which I think made me like this job, and I was sad to go.
my small talk skills are not where I want them😞😞 idk why it’s so challenging for me, especially when small talk is so important. thanks so much for the great tips!
Hi Simone, it is not easy to go and talk to strangers in first place, don't blame yourself. It is great that you understand the problem and now all you need is an effort to solve it. Practice, learn, practice and learn! You will see that with time, you will get much better and it will come naturally to you to approach and talk to guests. Start with simple things like questions about the food, drinks or even the weather and let the guests lead you to the conversation. Good luck!
I get shy easily.. which is weird because I’m a social butterfly elsewhere.. but sometimes is easier when you can tell people are tourist or when they are nice.
Thank you for the tips back at serving again but every night I been killing it $$. Your guidance and the way you break down things is awesome. I can always relate with your videos
Passion is needed if you want to create a real good life for yourself in this industry! Take the job serious and a lot of things will change in a hurry for the better!
