At the end of the first one it looks like y'all are going into keni
Is that wood soft? Lol. My water has lots of rust too. The inspector said it was iron but I fired him. He dont know !
18:00 the place is not a wreck. Something else is the wreck lol. Thanks for the video.
You need a vision This cabin could have a lot of potential. Take wallboards out, put new walls and flooring in. Use mildew resistant paint when you do your painting. Put new flooring etc, it's go s really cute design from the outside. .
My generation knows Cat Stevens, probably worth something. Google it. He was very popular in the 70s
Wind the window open?
That dial by window in the Airstream I think controls the direction of a TV antenna. The old Airstream does have value because people will gut them and completely refurbish them. Good luck
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Wow, that's cool about the dial by the window! Thanks for sharing 😊!
i was about to say that even gutted they are worth a few thousand due to them being metal and rust resistant more heavy duty than the fiberglass rvs.
My parents bought me an 8-track player and speakers for Christmas in 1973. I was into the Eagles, Olivia Newton John etc.. I was excited to be able to have my own stereo system! Even had a Karen Carpenter tape at some point. Thanks for sharing this brought back memories from high school!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate you sharing 😊! Sounds like good times and good memories!
Your videos are very refreshing and down to earth. I really enjoyed being part of your family's adventures. God bless.
Thanks so much for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Really appreciate the kind words and glad you are on this journey with us 😊! Same to you!
8 track tapes. They're probably worth something to someone.
Yep.... Hubby and I laughed when he called them old cassette tapes. 😆
Looks like the one my parents brought in 1940.
Thanks for watching and joining us 😊! Thanks for the information and we will have to look into see if anyone collects them 😊!
lol we still use them all the time
Great country music 😊❤
We had 8 track tapes in 70s, I think they are now collector items, depending on condition and whose tape it is.
Yep 8 tracks. We have an original hifi system with a player and some my wife got at a thrift store. Ours still works. They came before cassettes came out.
Glad you got up too safely! Looks like fun.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! That's awesome you have an original player! Might have to look for one. Thanks and it was good to finally see the upstairs.
That old radio... if nothing else, keep it and re-style it into a something! It is really groovy looking😍
Looking forward to seeing what y'all do with your new land YAY👍
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! That's a really good idea if we can't get it to work!
@@GoodLivingAlaskaI used to watch my grandfather mend radios like that back in the 1950s and 1960s. It looks to me like you have a complete radio there. The tubes (those metal cylinders sticking up) may no longer work, but I noticed they have their serial numbers intact. There are specialist retailers who can supply those via the mail. If you take the model number and search online you can find the repair manual to show you how to replace the wiring and tubes. With a bit of research and work, you should be able to get it working. No special tools needed, just flat-head screw drivers and a fine guage soldering iron.
70’s 8 track , the trailer is a classic definitely worth something 😎👌🏼
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate the information 😊! Will have to look into it!
4 track and 8 track my dad used to play CCR PROUD MARY LOVE THOSE THINGS
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing and glad it brought back good memories 😊!
The radio and the airstream are worth a good penny. I miss Alaska.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊! Will need to do more research on it! It is one of those places you fall in love with and miss 😊!
That big upright radio is an old tube AM radio. Not worth a ton of money but you could sell that to someone who restores them. Might be a little tough to find in Alaska, though. Obviously may not even work, given the abandoned nature of that place. It looks all original, though never seen anything like that big cylinder thing at the bottom in the back. I did notice the electrical cord was the original 2-prong style, which should be replaced if you were to end up using it. As-is, it's a fire hazard, you really want a grounded 3 wire cord for safety.
I used to have one really similar to that, I recognized it immediately when you opened the door. Mine was by "Motorola", my dad used to listen to it as a kid (Flash Gordon, Lone Ranger type of radio serials). I ended up selling it to someone who restores them. It was cool decoration and an interesting conversation piece, but I'm of the opinion it should be restored and actually used/enjoyed by someone who is into them. There is a market for restored/working radios like that.
Those "cassettes" you found are 8-tracks. I used to go out to my dad's truck and listen to ABBA on 8-track. This was back in the 70s.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Really appreciate you sharing all of your knowledge with us about the radio 😊! That's cool you had a similar one! Would be nice to restore it, but yes might be hard to find someone in Alaska.
Air Stream!! Worth Money!! 8 Track Tapes as well😊😊 Great Finds!! Congrats 😊
Thanks for watching and joining us on your adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing and for the best wishes 😊!
I'm old enough to remember those eight-track tapes and I had a few myself.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊!
That was a nice video it was exciting you going through the the top part of the cabin and seeing what was in there and in the trailer with you happy holidays 🌲☃️🌲
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! So glad you liked the video! Yes, was great to finally see the upstairs 😊! Happy Holidays to you, too!
Eight tracks are the tapes, and the radio is an antique style one of good quality for when it was made.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊!
10:47 "These are old cassette tapes!" Owww. I just felt my age. Those are 8 track cartridges.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊! Ha ha everything gets outdated so fast!
Awesome smoors over the fire, how much better can it be.👍❤
Thanks so much 😊! They were delicious and highly recommend trying them with the Oreos 😊!
That cabin is definitely worth fixing up as you go.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for your suggestion 😊!
The thing in the cooler is, at least part of, a woodworkers vice. The "tool handle" is most of a rabbet plane.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing your information with us 😊! That's good to know!
Wow!! Ant For Sure , Hold On To It!!😊
Very cool property. From this angle, it looks like the fire was right under the electric lines.
Thanks for watching another video and joining us on our adventure 😊! We were careful not to be right under them 😊.
Old valve radio with a drum coil antennae
Lots of coils of copper wire to increase reception
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing what kind of radio it is 😊!
We all had 8- tracks in the seventies followed by cassette tapes. The radio is from the twenties or thirties. WWII era and all could be worth some thing I know the trailer is a collectable and often sought by people to restore. Same with that radio. People used to meet at the house of some one that had one and sit and watch the radio. My mother passed six years ago at the age of 95 and grew up during the depression and remembered all these things from childhood.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing your story about the radio and glad your Mom had good memories 😊! That's very interesting! Will have to look more into restoring both of them.
The crank in the trailer might have been for antena at onetime. Didn't realize how young you 2 are that you have never even seen an 8 track or does that tell you how old I am LOL
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing about the antenna 😊! Ha ha no worries! Everything changes so fast!
Gorgeous view
Thanks so much for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks so much 😊!
I had an 8track in my 1969 Fort Capri LX made it Germany I drove the car for years and all over Europe and I was working In Switzerland and Italy. It had an small six cylinder and an four speed transmission.
I'm went through the Alps,St.Godhard Pass an lot of night driving.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our cabin adventure 😊! Thanks so much for sharing with us 😊! Sounds like so much fun driving around and listening to your 8 tracks 😊!
Of the titles I saw when you opened the cabinet with the 8tracks brought back memories..had mist of those titles on an 8track and latter on albums( I enjoy vinyl)
You kids have a lot of courage and ideas.. can’t wait to see the progress👍
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate the kind words and glad you enjoyed the video 😊! Glad it brought back good memories 😊!
The radio in the upstairs is an antiques might be worth some money to someone. Also the tapes you found in the camper are called 8 Track tapes and those if in good playing condition are also worth some money. Great video can't wait to see how this acreage progresses.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing and for the information 😊! Glad you enjoyed the video!
I love it, put a kid in a room with an 8-track the player, a TV without a remote, and a rotary phone and they'd be lost.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Yes, they would! Things change so fast 😊!
Nice video, I have that cartridge.. I've collected 8 Tracks since 1990 when they were cheap finds at flea markets. Foam pads and foil splice often need replacing. I have a few portable players too.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing 😊! That's so cool you have that one and collect them, plus portable players to listen to them 😀!
Those are 8 track tapes they sell for 1 to 10 dollars but popular ones sell for $1000
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing the information 😊! Wow, that's good to know!
Alot of work u gotta strip that whole airstream down to a shell and a real good remodel it can b worth up to 30. 40 grand but u gotta put minimum 20. 25 grand to make it worth 40
Yes, definitely will take some work and money 😊!
I think you have some old 8 Track tapes there, as somebody else mentioned. There probably not worth much, but I am sure there is a collector out there that would want them. The old radio would be worth something, especially if it works. If it was my property, I would tear down that structure and keep the electric/sewer/water and build something nice, and safer. Well, enjoy the videos, and have a Merry Christmas!!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing your suggestions on the cabin 😊! Glad you enjoyed the video and Merry Christmas to you as well!
It probably won't play anymore, even if you found an 8 track player. They. once they sit, they kind of seal together. They stick together The tape does inside
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing this information with us 😊! Didn't know that. May have to try to find a player just to see.
You used a snow blower on that amount of snow?
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Yes, we did. Didn't want to wish getting stuck. Plus, clearing for more snow coming 😊!
Good luck finding an 8 track player though. Ask anyone who is fixing up an old house in Alaska and they will tell you building a new place is cheaper. and easier. You could repurpose the building as a barn or something with minimal work though. I generally like watching rehab videos over new construction though.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing with us 😊! It probably is cheaper to just start over 😊. Yes, rehab videos are fun to watch 😊.
Unfortunately this place is someone's broken dream. Knock it down and build nice 600 sq.ft. cabin.
And this is radio with lamps instead of semiconductors. May worth few bucks.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate your suggestion and sharing what kind of radio it is 😊!
Can't wait to see what you do with the property. Please look into booties for your pooch.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Glad you like the property and we have lots of stuff planned for it 😊! Oh we have and she's not a fan 😆! She has lots of fur on her paws 😊!
VCRs are making a come back, it could be a game.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊!
Made it in 2 minutes and wondering... you have a 4x4 truck and needed to use the snow blower on a couple of inches of snow to get in your driveway? Just asking...
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! We only go out there every so often and had just gotten fresh snow. It was going to snow again so just wanted to make sure we took care of it. Also, just a precaution bc if you get stuck no one is there to help 😊.
Cat Stevens music is awesome!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing! Will have to look him up!
That old radio Is a collectable, If It works, It worth some money. Those are 8 track tapes, I use to have those back In the sixties and seventies, I had some awesome old songs on It. Yes they are worth a little. If you could get the radio to play and those 8 track to play on that radio It would be worth some money. Collector's would love that radio If a n old one.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for the information! Will definitely look into it 😊!
That Radio is worth a lot of MONEY.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing with us 😊!
Alot of those old radios wires were soldered with gold
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing your information with us 😊! That would be so cool! Will have to look into it 😊!

Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊! That's good to know!
I thought I weren’t coming back til spring but glad u didn’t
We wanted to see what the upstairs looked like, but most of the work will have to wait until Spring 😊. Thanks for watching!
Very cool find. What was in the metal box? Under the cabinet in trailer
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Not sure what was in the box. Will have to go back in look 😊!
I had a record player as a kid. Before 8 track.
You better put some 2x4's as supports for snow load in that Airstream or keep the snow off it. Alaska kills Airstreams. I saw a guy a few years ago bring up a super nice Airstream the snow crushed it it looks like a monster truck or a bull dozer drove over it. Airstream campers do not have any support walls inside they can survive with added supports. But if you leave the snow on it during a bad winter down she goes:(
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing that with us 😊! That's good to know and we will definitely have to keep on it 😊!
U guys should redo the airstream and live in it while you build your house
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing your suggestions 😊!
Dude, 5:15 Is a dryer vent , that looks like the wash room with the plumbing.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing that information with us 😊!

Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for the information 😊! Will definitely be careful!

Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊!
L-915W General Electric Co. (GE); Bridgeport CT, Syracuse NY. Current value from $150usd low, $350usd high. Mouser should have the capacitors to re-cap that. DO NOT plug it in or try it before this is done; fast way to immolate you and your home. All the tubes and transformers are available for this as well, and the speaker is available as are re-cone kits for it. Every year there are more humans on this planet, and every year fewer vintage radios, and unlike humans, it is worth braking for a vintage radio.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing all of this great information 😊! We appreciate it and will definitely have to look into it more 😊!

Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊!

Not cassette tapes , 8 track tapes. Cat Steven's. I'm being followed by a moon shadow, moon shadow, moon shadow
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊!
Cat Stevens had several songs but Wild World was the best...he switched religions and you never heard much, I think he was on the no entry to US for a bit.... it's a wild world!! 😂
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing with us 😊! Will have to look him up - that is wild!
The casettes r called 8 tracks
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for the information 😊!
Those are 8 Track Tapes, not caset tapes. List them a RETOR if you want any money at all.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊! That's helpful and will have to check it out 😊!
8 tracks were very popular in the 60's/early 70's and I love Cat Stevens. That brought back memories for me. He was very Hippie Dippy, back in the day. You guys have a beautiful property. I can't wait to see it in the Spring/Summer time!
We listened to them as late as 1978 that I know of. This was a fun find.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate your kind words 😊! We are excited for Spring and Summer too so we can get to work on it! Thanks for sharing and glad it brought back memories 😊!
We had 8 track players in our cars back in the 70’s .
Great memories for me also!
@@GoodLivingAlaskai still have a stereo 8track and a bunch of 8track cassettes. Mainly rock and country from the 60s-70s, in storage.
Not sure if the tape would fall apart if I tried to play one.
It’s an 8 track tape
Seeing someone not know what an 8-track is made me feel so old :) That was a great find. Very interesting series of videos. Congrats on everything that came with the land, so many options.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Glad you like the videos and thanks for the kind words 😊 ! Yes lots of options! Ha ha things are outdated so fast!
Hey there, i wanted to comment on the 8 track. Cat Stephens converted to Islam and dropped off the face of the earth for awhile. There are lots of classic car owner people that put 8 tracks in their cars to be able to play those old tapes. Hope you find a use for them or can sell them. The old radio is worth doing some research on, but the vacuum tubes can be worth 100s of dollars since they are rare and necessary for making these old units work again. Good luck figuring out what to do with the cabin.@@GoodLivingAlaska
I am not a fan of demoing a property, but, I think your best bet is to tear it all down and start from scratch, It is just too cobbled together. You'd spend more money trying to bring it up to snuff than just building something decent.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate you sharing your suggestions 😊! It is a weird layout!
Just did a quick internet search of that radio (which is very cool by the way). I found something that looks just like it. It’s a 1942 art deco style floor radio. Anything art deco is very attractive to people, so I’m guessing you could get a pretty penny for it.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate you looking it up for us and sharing what you found 😊! Glad you think it's cool, too!
Cat Steven’s Tea for the Tillerman is an incredible album!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊! Will check it out 😊!
airstream are worth a lot of money even in the shape yours is in because they can be restored
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing your information with us 😊!
If you had that radio here where I live, I'd fix it for you. I even have knobs for it. Bit I guess we're about 2,000 miles south of you or even more. The big can in the bottom was a special antenna that would allow you to pick up stations from far away without an outdoor antenna. I suspect it was an amplified antenna also. Your cassettes are actually 8-track tapes. They were popular just before the audio cassette came out. We still have a stereo system with an 8-track, but don't use the 8-track. No, I'm not that old, but my Dad had a Radio-TV repair shop where I learned about these things.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing all of this with us 😊! That's cool about your Dad having a shop! I bet you learned a lot! Too bad we are not closer. Would have been nice to have you take a look at it and fix it up 😊!
That radio takes me back to my childhood. The glow from the dial was so comforting. I used to sit in front of it with my brother, ear close to the speaker, listening to see if our school would be closed because of snow! Such good memories. Also, use to listen to Cat stevens all the time. You may find a collector that would be interested in them but, I wouldn't expect much. Great finds.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! So glad you enjoyed the video and it brought back good memories, especially about a school being closed 😊!
8 tracks are worth a bunch and cat Steven's is famous big time
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate you sharing your information 😊! Had no idea they were worth a lot!
LOVE Cat Stevens!!! My favorite song of his is Peace Train!! ❤️
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊!
I have been restoring antique radios for the past 50 years. That is a General Electric console from about 1940. At this time, on the console models, pushbuttons, internal antennas, and large HiFi speakers were new and popular. DON'T TURN THE RADIO ON AS IS! Doing so will damage the power transformer, rectifier and audio output tube, speaker field coil, and audio output transformer. The problem with these old radios is, the electrolytic and paper capacitors go bad and it basically shorts out the radio power supply.
The barrel shaped thing in the back of the radio is the antenna, it should be mounted vertically to an upper and lower shaft that extends from the antenna drum. In use, you can rotate the drum to minimize power line interference.
Most parts, or suitable replacements are available for these old radios (except for the transformers).
Console radios are not as popular to collectors due to their larger size, even though they are a more premium radio. Smaller table top radios are currently the most popular. As is, the radio is worth about $50. Fully electrically restored, along with a cabinet restoration, with the correct knobs, the radio would be worth about $350.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing all of this information with us! We really appreciate you taking the time 😊! That's so cool you restore antique radios! That's good to know that most parts are available and can be replaced.
Definitely put money into the Airstream . Defintely, dont put money into that cabin. It just looks moldy, poorly built, and a fire hazard.
I suppose a water tank would be the way to there. That water looks deadly.
The property itself is picturesque and will provide a nice home for a cozy little cabin, especially around Christmas.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate all of your suggestions and kind words about the property 😊!
Our old camper/bus conversion had an 8 track tape player. Some of the 8 track tapes are worth a bit, some not so much. But they are different from regular cassette tapes. Look them up online and see if any of them are worth anything. You have a lot of work to do there, but it is an awesome place. I must say I would love to have a place like yours in Alaska. Great video again. Have a blessed week.
Thanks for watching and appreciate your kind words 😊! Hoping you can have a place, too 😊! Thanks for sharing and will definitely look them up!
Those are called 8 tracks...I have the Cat Stevens Tea for the Tillerman in vinyl. I got it back in 1970. And I still treasure it.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing and will have to look him up 😊!
I love this! BTW, Those are 8 track tapes from the 70's!! The airstream is worth the renovation! KEEP IT! use it for a guest house!!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊! A guest house is a cool idea!
Eight track tapes came out in the mid70s. Cassette tapes came out long before that. The selling point for the eight track tape was that it ran in a continuous loop and you never had to rewind it. They were great to listen to, but they were infamous for becoming tangled up and ruined. As for any technology gone by the wayside there is a small group of collectors out there. Cat Stevens, tea for the Tillerman… I have on vinyl and CD. Epic album you should check out.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate you sharing the information 😊! That's great you didn't have to rewind it, but could see where it could become tangled. I will definitely have to look him up 😊!
Are you sure it wasn’t before that? I had enough sense to know things by the mid 70’s and I can barely remember them! All I can remember is cassette tapes and vinyl records.
Can't wait to see what you all do with that cabin it could be fixed up and be beautiful
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊! Yes, it could be very nice! If you would like to watch our journey from the beginning, check out our playlist 😊!

They are called 8 track tapes. They were common in the 60s. I actually have placer that still works
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing and that's cool you have one that works!
Old tube type radio, the thing in the bottom is the antenna. May have to replace some of the tubes. But should work
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Appreciate the information and good to know about the tubes!
Love the floor console radio! That's an art deco style. It became less popular after WW2. This one was probably made in the late 30's to early 40's. MY grandpa has his own tv/radio/stereo repair shop. He loved working on those old tube consoles. The missing knobs are super hard to find. I noticed a yellowed piece of paper on the upper left corner when you turned it around. It should have a model number on it. It maybe GE Model L -915W.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing all this great information with us 😊! That's so cool your grandpa had his own shop! Will definitely take a look at that paper for the model number 😊!
A lot of potential in that property. Good luck🇺🇸🥰
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! We think so, too, just a lot of work!
8 track tapes (late 70s) were to music like what Beta tapes (mid-80s) were to movies 😳 ..totally just dated myself 😂

Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Yes, my husband does and I take care of Harrison and our soon to be newborn 😊! Yes, we plan on getting one soon and will make an announcement on an upcoming video 😊!
Thanks for taking us along for the visit. 😊 This property is so beautiful. Hope you can get something for the 8-tracks.
And I must say your dog is just super cute!

I grew up with 8 track tapes. A family of 9, big old station wagon and beach boys playing on the 8 track as we drive over the hill to Santa Cruz Beach thru our summers. I don’t know about your particular radio but my late husband use to buy the smaller SOlid State radios and tinker with until they worked. It was often just a blown fuse. There’s something about listening to those old SS radios. Be safe and stay warm.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊! Sounds like awesome memories! That's good to know about the fuse! You, too 😊!
Oh wow, 8 track tapes, amazing find. Might be worth something to a collector if they work. Cat Stevens does the song Cats In The Cradle I think. I think the Airstream has potential! Great video!
Harry Chapan did cats in the cradle 😊

Really enjoying can’t wait till you are doing it up. Makes me feel old we had one of those 8tracks was amazing.doubt if they are worth much nothing is these days.love the family thank you .❤
8-Tracks. I remember them well. Today, worth nothing. Cat Stevens was very popular in the days. I had records, then upgraded to CD, and still have the same somewhere in the pile.

This looks like a old 1930's or late 30"s model radio awesome
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for sharing 😊! We will have to do some research on it!
The old radio is 1940's ish vintage and the can in it is the antennae. The old radios like that had to have an external antennae in order to realize it's best reception. That appears to be an early attempt at keeping it all contained within the cabinet and not have to run wires outside to an antennae. We had one similar to that when I was growing up made by Sears and it sounded fantastic. All tubes of course since there were no commercial transistors at that point. That would come another ten years or so down the line. If you can get it to work it will surprise you how good it will sound on stations that are reasonably close by. The tuning was not as precise on those old sets as todays, but for the stronger stations they just sounded great.
