      Mouhiddine Hassani The video hasn't been processed completely by TH-cam, so You are watching it's "early version" in low res. You will be able to watch it 720p (as always) later.

      Mouhiddine Hassani It's a twin turbo 360p. The output is actually the same as a naturally aspirated 720p.

      +Chris Sorreda Qashqhai is a Turkish name and has nothing to with indian, Kadjar is a french name and yes since French is a Indo-European language, it is indian-ish.

      +Stephen Clarke hmm.. what about calling it a matter of taste?.. I find Kadjar WAY better looking than the Qashqai.. it also drives better (corners better and is more comfortable).. and the EDC auto is WAY better than Nissans xtronic (cvt). I have a Qashqai 2010 at the moment.. just drove ALL SUVs in the class.. and just ordered a top spec Kadjar as a result.
      Only thins Nissan has that is better is the 360 view feature..

  • @maartendemuynck3653
    @maartendemuynck3653 9 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Best in class I think. More spacious (both in the back seats and in the boot), more comfortable and more stylish (especially inside) than the Qashqai on which it's based. Renault also fits the Kadjar with better seats (thanks to thicker padding of the seat bases) and its R-Link infotainment system, which is just one step ahead of what you get in the Nissan.I can't help but think that this Kadjar is a better overall package than the Captur, and stands out from the crossover crowd even more.

    In Portugal there's a silly law that states that every car taller than 1.10 meters from the front axle will belong in an upper class on the highway (it will pay twice as much). So, for instance, a Nissan Qashqai's bonnet is below 1,10m but the Kadjar's is 1,13m, something like that, for esthetic reasons. So, in order not to belong in that stupid class, Renault will have to lower the suspension and the car will only be launched next year. The car will look sillier and the ride will be more unconfortable. That stupid law also allows for a limusine to carry a circus caravan to be in the cheaper class, but an Opel Mokka will belong in the more expensive class. Isn't that great?

  • @tomreviews9668
    @tomreviews9668 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    So far the Nissan Qashqai has sold big time here in the UK. Given that the Kadjar is essentially the same car (engineering wise), yet slightly larger and more practical they could genuinely start selling well. This could be a turning point for Renault as they don't exactly have the best reputation for reliability, and have loss popularity in recent years as a result. Reading/pronouncing the name is going to be a constant problem though.

    Is the diesel particular filter covered by warranty as most manufacturers don't do this and it can cause severe engine damage if it goes wrong

    I don't really think this is going to sell. As a Nissan and Renault owner I would never buy a renault again, but i just bought the new qashqai after i had an almera for 15 years. Nissans for EU are made in the UK with real standards in mind, while Renaults are made in Turkey, France and Spain and they are really crappy. My current renault has in average one a month in the service for the past 4 years ( yes...about 40 + times ) for different faults, so never again. There is a huge quality difference for the parts in those cars, even though the design might be the same.

    • @bryanm.4869
      @bryanm.4869 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MrFranzisc The early 2000s Renaults were crappy in terms of reliability but nowadays Renault reliability and quality ranking is one of the highest in Europe. Check the latest AutoExpress quality and reliability survey.

  • @yippie6862
    @yippie6862 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a Nissan Rogue

    • @syxepop
      @syxepop 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yippie, ...with all of the length (same as EU's X-Trail, but longer than the Qashqai), but without the optional kid-only rear jump seats almost all of the US-spec Rogue levels (Platinum excluded) get. Those are also available in the EU X-Trail, but not in the Qashqai.
      Also all EU models use lower output engines than the US Rogue (NA 175hp/170 lb-ft 2.5L I4).
      And don't believe those fuel compsumption figures quoted in EU shows, videos and magazines... They're GROSSLY OVERSTATED (much more so than US-EPA's and still those are slightly so) and it is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE for a European driver to get even near to those numbers IRL.
      74 MPG on a 1.5L TDi? Think closer to the 150hp 2.0L TDi VW uses in several C and C/D-sized cars (slightly less than 30 US MPG city cycle and low to mid-40 US MPG's on the highway cycle

    • @yippie6862
      @yippie6862 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      syxepop Some nice comparison statistics. Thanks! Keep one thing in mind though, a gallon in the UK is bigger than a USA one. 1 imperial UK gallon is equal to a little over 1.2 USA gallons. 1=1.20094992043

    • @syxepop
      @syxepop 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yippie, even with the ~ +20% difference between an Imperial Gallon and a US Gallon all EU's (even JP's) fuel compsumption numbers are higher than the US-EPA ones and what any driver can expect from the vehicle.
      So don't expect ITRW much more than 35 MPIG (or their metric equivalent) or so on normal highway driving cycle and much more than 22 MPIG (or its' metric equivalent) on a city driving cycle. That's unless you "hyperdrive" (something hybrid vehicle owners can explain to you) and get +10-20% those numbers.
      These are moderately substantial (C-size based) crossover SUV's with an ~ 3500-4000 US lbs. kerb weight, depending on engine size/kind and propulsion system (FWD vs. AWD).

    • @yippie6862
      @yippie6862 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      syxepop True. The most mpg I have seen for a non-hybrid car in the USA are VW Golf diesels. Many show on youtube that they average about 47 mpg on the highway. That's really good. The UK and Euro figures do seems too optimistic. The EPA numbers are much closer to reality.

    • @SuperNiceguy60
      @SuperNiceguy60 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      syxepop (NA 175hp/170 lb-ft 2.5L I4) ???
      Hueeeeeeeeeeee !!!
      Our smallest 1.5 dci has 192ft of torque
      Our 1.6 diesel has 236ft of torque
      More torque when going uphill with the vehicle loaded or pulling a trailer makes a massive difference
      Your 2.5L4 engine is 2 MPH faster (top speed) but it gets Catastrophic fuel consumption and extremely low performance for its size
