our personal take on the KADJAR , we bought at dealer , a 1 owner, relatively low mileage 66 plate flagship mettalic red
Signature 1.2 petrol auto box in april 2019 , done average mileage up to now, feb 2022
This was our first ever purchase of a SUV-style vehicle.
engine and gearbox 7.5 out of 10
reliability so far a 10. In economy mode our true average 37 mpg combined 60 town 40 motorway useage if you feather rather than push the pedal so a 7.5
interior and boot spacious , espesh at rear for our children and dog and reasonably comfortable up to a single 3 plus hour journey , an 8 .
good lighting in side and out a 8
    passenger and drivers visability 7.5
    radio , reception and speakers a 8
heating and cooling vent system a 6.5
sat nav part a 5 , it seems to get better with more apps you had to to get the signature S model but improved on all models 17/67 plates onwards , so i have been told
bluetooth reception for phone a 7
steering a 7 , brakes 8.5. THE ride a 9 on smooth rds but a sharp drop to 6 if you encounter ruts , potholes or speed bumps due to the big wheel size .
fave bits , reliability-looks - driver seat position - engine eco button - boot level and ease to load or unload , -full glass pano roof ,daylights auto night high beam- and a big cubby storage space under front armrest plus the removeable floor in boot for extra depth and a easy rear seat collapse button
design-wise, we dislike the front pillars and mirror housing as this partially impedes vision at right turns from junction and seeing small ones at zebra crossings , this isnt to do with the price , as we have found exactly the same thing with our friends 50 thousand pound 2018 range rover Velar

Good review but it follows the herd regarding complaints with the cruise control which I fail to understand. Like others, the reviewer criticises the positioning of the switch and how awkward it is to use every time. I switched the toggle switch to 'CRUISE' the day I bought my Renault and... well 18 months later I've never needed to touch it again. That's because it's only the master switch - if I wish to set cruise to on, off, change speeds or resume the previous setting simply use the steering wheel buttons.
The switch could be located in the boot for all I care, I never have to touch it. And I use cruise control every day.
I can see where it would be annoying if the master switch was reset each time the engine's turned off - some other manufacturers set their cars up like that but not Renault. The other good thing about Renault cruise cancels when you depress the clutch to change down gears say when you approach a roundabout, where many other manufacturers require you to either physically cancel the system or needlessly touch the brake pedal. I think Renault should be praised rather than criticised for their cruise functionality - it's one of the easier systems on the market to use.

I totally agree! Also I like the radio controls ”behind” the wheel they are so keen on criticize. It takes about 15 minuters to learn.....

Best review I've seen of this car. Covers all bases.

Renault has used exactly the same touch screen and buttons for the right and left handle drive cars, so here in France we don't have visibility issues about the screen. They should have inverted the layout for the UK. Just for info.

Just bought a 2016 Kadjar Dynamique same colour. Know what you mean about the gearbox it is a bit sloppy but not that bad. It is taking some getting use to. I was surprised just how quick it is once on the move its very agile. Downside on this model is the lack of parking sensors.

Drive a 68 plate 1.5 dynamique infotainment screen have no problems with mileage I did a 25 mile round trip to get aquatinted with it had a full tank that showed 360 mile range by the time I got back it showed 385 still getting used to the gearing as being used to 1.6 petrol but that I believe is to be expected

This is pretty much a Frenchified Nissan Qashqai, complete with same powertrains, but with the 6 speed dual clutch automatic option, which is not available on Qashqai. Its interior design is not as attractive as the Qashqai though. I had a good look at the 2018 model Qashqai on Monday and it moves the game slightly further away from this Renault once more.
Which to choose? Well, the Qashqai is British built for a start. If that doesn't matter then it comes down to price and convenience of their respective dealers.
I find the K9K 1.5 diesel, which must be one of the highest build volume car diesel engines on the road today [over 10million have been built] is quiet, economical and adequately powerful. I find the matching Renault gearbox to be light and precise, at least it is in the Qashqai installation.
The boot divider and floor is similar in both models and is brilliant in practice. Especially good for holding shopping bags. The ladies especially love these cars and the gents appreciate the comfort and general undemanding dynamics which are ideal for British roads driven within a reasonable margin of the statutory speed limits.

Why on earth do you want to be “inspired” by everything inside? Is it good or not, does it work well, I don’t care if you feel like writing poetry when looking at the aircon dials.

Name Kadjar !However, its relation to Qashqai points to its relation to the Qajars or in French Kadjars. Since Nasser ed-Din Shah the Qajar shahs of Persia wrote their name in western script in the French way: Kadjar. This relation has been noted in several professional and social media in prevalently neutral but in few cases a bit enthusiastic manner. There were also rare bursts of politically based outrage.[9][10]

Nice looking car, however (rather predictably) no one should buy this over a 3008.

M1ZKA I don’t think it’s ugly but more expensive and full of electronics devices and I don’t trust them. Waiting for my kadjar in a few weeks I hope it will be fine
