- The Renault Kadjar has arrived in the crowded crossover/SUV sector and is based on the ever-popular Nissan Qashqai. It's got stylish looks and the same range of frugal and efficient turbocharged petrol and dCi diesel engines, and a bit of extra boot space thanks to a slightly elongated body.

Lol at people saying it's the same price as a Q3... No it's not. The Germans always offer stripped out models to temp badge snobs to the showroom. When you get there they'll try and bend you over to buy a never ending list of ridiculously expensive options that jack up the price of the car into the stratosphere. That's even before you get done on the overpriced servicing to fix items that would never go wrong on a cheap Japanese hatchback.
This guy is definitely the best presenter of real world car reviews. Engaging, likeable personality coupled with useful information about the cars. Nice balance going on.

It's a really great car /crossover - pretty reliable, nice real leather interiors very comfy ergonomic seats inside with super panoramic sunroof ... with good features, very sturdy and the BOSE edition, sounds brilliant... I am a very happy owner of my Kadjar :)
After 6 years would you say the same or did your opinion change?

Another super review carbuyer. I actually drove one of these on launch day, and its a thoroughly well sorted car for its type and price. perhaps there is a shade too much road noise at speed, but otherwise there is nothing to be concerned about dynamically. Renault are very cheeky though in only having parking sensors on the third up from base Dynamique S trim, so its not as well priced in practise as it initially appears. Still, Renault are on to a winner with the kadjar.

I bought this car a month ago. and it is great. great quality for the money. 1.6 Disel is not so loud.all in all its everything you need in a new car.

I wanna buy one as it's my facourite bute a friend told me that spare parts are really expensive and rare on market. Is it true?
Great car. I'm hoping to buy the one my mum's friend owns.
French/soft suspensions make the journey really smooth and quite comfy on the inside.
Regarding the parts, it's the same for half the brands out there. Not really a big deal.
Just make sure you drive it well and fully service it annually as a minimum - higher mileage may require a mid year interim service - touch wood should be fine.

Base model Kadjar is cheaper than Qashqai atleast here in Finland. And top of the range Kadjar is 2k cheaper than base model Q3.

Having driven both the Renault Kadjar and the Kia Sportage, (new model) I can tell you that whilst both are good cars, the Kia has the edge over the Renault in many ways. I've also found our local Kia dealer's customer service to be excellent. I'm currently looking for an SUV and both cars are on the hot list at the moment.

interceptor1986 I could have bought a 3 years old BMW x5 with 86000 miles and very little equipment for the same money ( No Warranty)

Instead I went for car with a 0 miles on the clock 4 years warranty and service costs included , 30 pounds road tax on 19 inch wheels ( AND ALL EXTRAS) even self parking
.
Good luck affording all EXTRAS on a BMW , Mercedes or an Audi, let alone the uncapped service costs.
The 4WD version as much as the Q3 ! Mind you I think the Q3 is out of step with other Audi prices. My neighbour bought one last year and his basic 1.4 TSI 150 ps 2WD seemed almost too cheap at 25K before a sizeable discount.He had to wait 4 months to get it though.

The Nissan Qashqai is already an SUV that can't cope with snow/ice/offroading (or on the flipside a hatchback that costs more to run), so why not get one that is even more implausibly named and looks like a melted 3D Dali painting instead? Motorists, we give you...the Kadjar!
+Oshawott Waters You're right, but only the 4WD variant, which are at the top of the range and massively overpriced. Virtually the entire range is FWD, and they are no better than any FWD hatch in snow. And for the cost of a 4WD Qashqai, or in many cases less, you could get a proper offroader like a Jeep Renegade, Fiat Panda Cross (no joke, its brilliant), even a Disco Sport for just £2k more...
+Oshawott Waters Absolutely true, Land Rovers aren't known to be reliable, we had a family friend who got one new, within a month part of the suspension had broken! Certainly can't fault equipment on a Qashqai, friend's had two and kit is brilliant. End of the day, I'm no expert and great thing is that people can freely debate about cars, and you're right, some cars can surprise despite what people say...for example my grandparents had a 2002 Honda CR-V, it went places land rovers got stuck in, now elsewhere in family with 200,000+ miles and still working faultlessly

Miles per gallon given in these reviews is singularly uninformative. First, it's based upon computer ead out - how do we know that's accurate? Second, these cars are always brand spanking new. Diesel engined cars are known to become more economical as the engine beds in. My current diesel car is more economical now after 60k miles than it ever was when it was brand new. The reviewers need to say how many miles the car has done and how long the journey is when giving out the figures.
honestly, the dash and cabin layout looks dated compare to the exterior.... shameful..... as a Renault .. should be better
I sat and spent 30 mins on this car yesterday..all I can say is wow! Renault has come a very long way, the quality of the interior is nothing short of quality. personally I think it's better than the overly famous Qashqai.

***** Well they're not that compact! They just seem silly for example the Honda crossover. You get a little more space then a Civic but it costs £4,000 more! Costs more on fuel, insurance and is also not as good to drive! If they we're actually able to go offroad they might have a slight purpose but as it stands I just think these cars are stupid.
***** Yeah I don't see the point of having an SUV as a family car either, as for the high seating position... Sure but I definitely wouldn't pay extra for it. Minivans are the better family cars but I would still rather have say a Focus or Civic as they supply as much room as you'll need for most tasks I don't see the point for anything bigger unless you have more than 3 kids.

+The Real Emile Better visibility and overview of the traffic, easier to sit in and get out of the car, especially for older people and those who have back problems. It's mostly the older people anyway who buy new cars. Young people either can't afford or simply don't care about cars anymore. Plus, nowadays the SUVs are usually built on the same platform as regular cars, meaning , lower weight, better fuel economy, driving dynamics on roads etc.

true 60K is expensive however you get 8 year warranty on the battery on 8 year warranty on the electric motor. also tesla have stated that after 15 years the battery will still hold up to 75% charge. tesla is also building free solar chargers across the world. FREE sun energy. elon musk has stated that tesla is developing a method to allow you to remove the car battery and place the unit into your home which will then be linked to solar panels on the roof of the home :)
