I love how Peebs is so worried about accidentally eating the lip gloss. As someone who ate plenty of lip gloss and lip balm as a child, it won’t hurt you. They wouldn’t be allowed to sell flavored lip products if it would. They just say not to eat it bc that’s not it’s intended purpose

They’re a candy brand over in the UK.
And in Canada Sour Patch Kids are always printed as Maynard’s Sour Patch Kids so I’m confused? Are they a distributor in Canada or do they make the “Canadian” version? Maynard have the best candies in general, crazy good candy maker!

They were bought by Kraft, so it isn't surprising that the branding differ from country to country. Canada has been more lenient with the image of the Queen, so we tend to keep the UK brand names, while the US... Let's just say that the Boston Tea Party happened.

No, just Sour Patch. This is very widespread in the food industry. For example, Lay's are called Walkers over in the UK, but Frito-Lays, a US brand, and Walkers were two completely different company, until PepsiCo bought them both. They kept their respective branding however, even if they are the same product.

Lip glosses and chapsticks are often flavored, even though you're not supposed to actually eat it. That's because it's not toxic to eat in small amounts (it's literally on your lips!) but you're likely going to be tasting it every now and then, because it's on your lips!!! So it would suck to have it taste gross. That doesn't mean your meant to eat it like candy lol

yeah.. kinda just a tangy sherbet flavor. Not great, but definitely not something I'd turn down on a warm day

Fun Fact: You probably got the Maynards one from Québec, seeing as the package is bilingual. The peach ones are called "Fuzzy Peach" here, and are from the Maynards brand. The Sour Patch kid branding was probably added to boost sale in the US, since, you know, they are both from Kraft. I'd recommend looking up the brands of the stuff you but and see who own them. You'll see that there's not that many different company that owns the food market.
And yeah, those cherry blaster also have the Sour Patch kid branding added to it, since they're just called Cherry Blaster from Maynards here.

Stuff gets less sour as I age too. I used to not be able to consume warheads as a kid and as an adult they're good except for when the sour wears off they're too sweet.
Your taste buds change as you age, mostly they are less sensitive, hence why children are so picky.

I was surprised that the peaches and the sour cherry blasters were unfamiliar to you! Those are classic Maynard's candies here in Canada, and you can get them anywhere. They're not even sour patch kids branded, just Maynard's.

When I worked at a dollar tree we'd always get the unsold back log of bigger stores and I remember seeing sour patch kids chips ahoy cookies I tried it and it was awful the sweetness of the cookie with gummy sour patch pieces did not mix

You're sort of right, PBG! Your taste buds do change as you age. Children have more receptors to experience sweet flavor, possibly because they need more energy for growth so they're adapted to crave it. Adults lose those sugar hungry taste buds over time, and just generally have lessened senses, so we start to enjoy sharper flavors, such as sour, or vinegary things.
Source: I learned this somewhere a few years ago when I was researching this very question. I'm no expert.

I actually did get the Sour Patch Kids Cereal and While I didn't love it... it was the only cereal that my roommate WOULDN'T eat, soooo I bought it more than once. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great.

@@YoshMaster Straight up milk is different than what ice cream is, there's milk in ice cream but it's not just frozen milk. Ice cream also has cream and other ingredients in it that's why it's called ice cream and not ice milk. The cereal doesn't have anything added except milk. Your right it does have milk in it but again it's not just milk.

I distinctively remember being a teenager and putting a handful of lemon Warheads in my mouth on a dare, and ascending to another plane of existence for like a minute before finding out that all I did was just froth foamed at the mouth for a good minute.
