that sadly doesn't work. The man, had a nostalgic run in WWE and didn't put anybody over around 2002-2005. Then he ruined TNA by basically making it '99 WCW. The issue is not giving the man creative control. @@CanineAdvocate_
Ultimately any way WCW survives is based on the television deals. AOL/Time Warner dropping them at the worst time, when most were buying the propaganda that all wrestling shows were bad, meant there were no viable network options immediately after the end of that deal. WCW had huge contracts and needed a TV deal, so they were gone then.
That is simply not true. I love watching Savage's matches, but Hogan had better in ring psychology and was a lot more versatile than people truly know. Go watch Hogan's matches in Japan against the likes of Inoki, Tenryu, Chono, Mutoh, Fujinami, and other talented performers from New Japan and All Japan. Hogan had a lot of excellent technical wrestling skills. He just never showed it in the States because that's not what Vince and people wanted to see from him. They wanted to see the blonde muscle man press slam a guy and win with the leg drop.
Bischoff basically did to mcmahon what he himself did to the territories in the 80s, raided the shit out of him & gave those stars a breath of fresh air, i just laugh at wwe's propaganda machine when they like to play the victim in the monday night wars like they weren't doing even more than that screwing with wcw's ppvs schedule & reach ect.
I agree, great interview. My man, can I get your thoughts on two things. Now you seem like a intelligent, tenured sort of man, so I ask you to give me your Deep thought on these two things. 1. We can see why Vince McMahon was upset with Randy Savage he swerved the slimjim sponsors and that revenue went to easy E. Also if JR is saying what Randy did went Macho mode and did him ugly on promos and wild up and making it hard for JR I can see why JR when he was in Talent Relations he would balk at that idea bring Savage back. JR was always saying we want young not old. It seems plausible.🙄
Not paying Macho? I think you may have misunderstood Eric. Savage got paid very well by WCW. The point was that WCW then earned around about the same amount from Slim Jim's sponsorship.
I think with WCW they fell victim to both "too many cooks" and poor decision making. People like Nash, Hogan, and Others kept thinking they were gods and buried other talent for their own sake (2000 Bash at the Beach anyone?) . Horrible matches, bad writing, and WCW Thunder sucking up resources didn't help either. That and the fact that they lost the confidence of Turner had the writing on the wall
Actually I wouldn't be surprised while macho Man was leaving WWF thought about Randy still coming back Vince McMahon would have still made offers to him to return macho Man got the offer from Eric bischoff to come to WCW.

Is there anything WCW could have done to stay in business and not get beaten by WWE? Let us know in the comments.
WCW should’ve told Hogan to help make new stars and leave his ego at the door.
TNT/TBS simply had to keep wanting to air the shows, whether they kept the company or let Bischoff's group with Fusient Media Ventures buy WCW.

They made the NWO. But it killed WCW.
Savage was miles better than Hogan.
While hulk was obviously the bigger star.
Wrestling is all about being a draw and Hogan was better than Macho. Anything else Macho was better at

WCW failed for two reason and all the other talk is just icing.
Creative control and not moving the mid card up to the main event scene.
Only Bash at the Beach 2000? What about Starrcade 1997 or January 4, 1999 Nitro?
Yes i heard if Undertaker had joined WCW then WWF would have gone under in 1996
I disagree maybe Mark Callaway may of joined WCW but not the character undertaker would of gone . WWE owns the undertaker gimmick.
@@MrHalo087
Could've gone with the Biker gimmick
Hell no. WWF would’ve created Rock And Steve Austin and beaten WCW. Undertaker was never a face of any era. He was only a cornerstone in each eras
Ms Elizabeth came with Randy too?
Technically Eric bischoff didn't steal randy savage from WCW because Vince McMahon put randy on commentary and randy wanted out of his deal

Randy Savage is one of the greatest of all time but WCW didn’t get him for free, they had to pay for Lenny Poffo

Nah, Attitude Era all the way. NWO had potential but lost it because they watered down Wolfpack just like they did Sting.

NWO was fire for about 6 months then it got HORRIBLY stale by around June of 1997 because the same thing kept happening week after week.
