I almost went with one of these for my coop, but opted against it because it had no ability to store power. The coop is hot at night, and by main goal was to cool them then. No sun, no cooling😢. I like the setup you did for the greenhouse, though!

Really nice for hot days, but not so much for the really hot nights. Thank you for your honesty! ❤
I’ve been looking for a good fan. The flock needs one even up here in Michigan.

Yes I’m hoping if they make some improvements that I could use it to cool the coop down right before dusk. We tried that massive solar fan build a few years ago with a car battery and it never worked well either. 😕

I’ve been using solar attic exhaust fans that have small batteries in-line in my runs just to move some air. They will run 6-8 hours on a sunny day so that runs a few hours after sundown. I am going to start buying them for my coops but I would like one that will run at night because you are right, it is hot in the summer here in Texas in the coops, even at night.

Ooh that’s a good idea too! We loved the concept of that old solar fan build (which you can look up here on my channel) but it never worked consistently. It was hard to find that balance of “get as much power from the panels as you can” plus “have excess energy stored in the battery” and have it running with the temperature gage! But I want to look into it again. ✌🏻❤️🐓

This product did not fair well for me in Florida. I installed in my chicken coop and the output was very lacking. I returned back to Amazon. I ended up using a power double fan purchased from big box store with a screen attached for safety. Its been working for me going on 2 years with a power cord. Glad this solar product is working for you though.

Oh I’m glad that you found something that worked for you too! ✌🏻❤️🐓

Oh no I’m so sorry. That’s terrible. I would contact your neighbor and see if they’re dealing with any illness there. The only things I can think of are Mareks disease or coccidiosis but I’m not a vet and don’t have enough information. I hope you can get some answers. ✌🏻❤️🐓

I’m so sorry. I would suspect coccidiosis then. If possible keep all birds away from your flock and see if you can get a medication like Corrid. Treat all of your chickens. Cocci can be serious but it can also be cured. And keep doing more research too! - remember I’m not a vet.
