Dutch composer Sweelinck wrote the first Organ Fugue. His student Scheidemann taught Reincken, possibly the most important Dutch-North German music influencer of the time. A young Bach walks in, hears Reincken's Sonata in A Minor, and said: "Hold my pretzel." Transcribes, and we have this masterpiece.
Do I hear birds chirping in the background of the recording, or am I imagining things? Birdsong is probably the only extraneous noise I'd excuse on a recording of such an exquisitely crafted composition. Thank you, THANK YOU, Herr Bach. (And birds!)

Dare I say that this has an elegance that you don't find in Bach's original works.
To each his own. Some prefer Justin Bieber.

I have never found anything in Bach's original works but black marks on buff or tan paper.
Even Bach would agree.
Dejlig lyst og munter musik, der går rask derudaf. Herligt at lytte til.......
