The XboxSeries S is the perfect console for non-Western gamers who have to deal with ps5 prices reaching $800 or more with no financing options. For example, the PS5 is up to five times what a gamer earns in a month in Nigeria. The Series S is the console to get if you want a "taste" of next gen but can't afford the whole "plate"
That’s true. I have a Ps5 and just purchased a Series S. I’m not a westerner but I know in California they make good money. I’m an easterner from the east side of the United States. Good system and budget friendly.
A good objective video. I got my Series S in early 2022 to supplement my Xbox One so that I would have a next gen console but still have my old console around for disc-based games. At the time when I bought my Series S, it seemed like the chip shortages would never end. Fast forward a few months and I did manage to snag a Series X. So I moved the Series S into the spare room on my old TV and it's been great on there ever since. For games for my Series S, I usually look at the weekly sales and have picked up several digital games on the cheap on there over time.
I just moved from a ps4 to the series s like a week ago and i think its a pretty good deal for me personally even tho its only 512gb but the ssd is working like a dream, its completely better than what i had before when it comes to quality and performance i highly recommend it if you are someone who wants to switch to the new generation consoles and you dont have the budget for a ps5 or series x
Just sort of depends on how big the price jump is imo. If the X ever comes down to the 300-350 pricepoint again, I would easily argue to get the X unless the S drops to under 200.
Owned ps1-ps4 consoles. Decided to buy a series s due to the huge price discrepancy between the series s and ps5. I am happy to have made the decision. I'm at the stage of my life wherein i squeeze only a couple of hours per week to play. Plus the games that i play are usually older and i am able to purchase them for about $2-10. Add the fact that it's a next gen console. 👌🏻
2:50 You don't need a proprietary SSD for extra storage. You can in fact use an off the shelf SSD, like the Seagate I use, and they're not that pricey anymore.
Very true, but you cannot play Series S games directly off any external drive. Same way with PS5 unfortunately. I still say the proprietary SSDs are relatively pricey when you can find off the shelf nvme drives for under 100 bucks for 1TB.
I was gonna get a Series S for Game Pass since I do most of my heavy gaming on PS5. With the news of Xbox games maybe making their way to PlayStation, I’m glad I waited. I’m gonna get a Steam Deck instead
Ps plus is kinda shit but hey, i spent $80 on a discount for whole year. Kinda thinking about getting series s for game pass too. And also i want a steam deck too. In cambodia, the non oled one is $150 different. Is it worth it for the lcd one?
I bought a Series S anyway. They were going for $150 a couple months ago for Black Friday and Christmas holidays. I don’t know too much about steam deck but if it’s cheaper brand new for about $100 I’ll buy one. Right now my PS5 is in the living room and the series s is the bedroom console.
@@rattanaklegacy2188 for $150 difference you’d be better off getting the OLED model, screen is slightly larger and of better visual quality and some internal components are also improved vs LCD version
Nice video. I had to sub, as I am also in the same boat with being a PC gamer primarily...that is also likes consoles for what they are. I always viewed consoles like fast food, they are good at one menu of pre rendered easy to eat content. The PC is like have a fully stocked kitchen with some cooking knowledge, you are just going to eat better but will have to learn to put work into it. BOTH are good....no fan boy stuff here.
ps5 pro $700 and the ps6 $900-$1000 maybe? now would be a great time to get invested into the xbox eco system get a series x now then in 2026 get the next upgrade console.
That's a bit warped, I have a ps5 series s and gaming pc. The s is great for casual couch gaming and gamepass and uses half the power which is great for me on solar.
The Series S is more graphically capable than the One X. The One X sometimes has higher resolution.. take a look at videos where people compare the series s smashes the one X.. on the paper you showed it’s more powerful..
On paper from a GPU perspective, the Xbox One X's GPU has more raw gpu compute power in terms of raw numbers, (The paper shows this, 4TF on the Series S vs 6TF on the One X, along with more RAM and higher memory bandwidth). This is why the One X will have sometimes higher resolution fidelity than a Series S. That GPU was designed with 4K in mind. You do have a point though, the Series S does have extra features and technologies that will make it run and perform better in a number of games, mainly due to the drastically better CPU.
I only bought this because ... A: PC gaming is unoptimized overpriced crap show. B: This potatobox will run anything within it's limits untill 2026 , so if you have a mid range PC then you can easily move over to the series s to play your unplayable , unoptimized pc games for the fraction off the cost. Pc is just a inferior , unoptimized platform that requires 3x times the requirements minimal represented within it's store page. Don't be fooled with GTX 1060 or RTX 2070 , combined with a ryzen 1600 or older I7 it's a fat LIE but the series S potatobox with a gtx 1650 can just run it without issues. LOL

Excellent point that I did not consider at the time.
EDIT: You inspired me for an idea for a future video...

Because of PS5 Pro release PS5 will be cheaper to get used

Bought it as my secondary console but now it becomes my primary console😊
Ironically same. I may do a follow up long term review video about this.

Loved the Persona track at the beginning of the video
Will gta6 come to series S?

Xbox One leadership DECIMATED Microsoft’s position in THE most pivot moment in gaming - when people started developing their online libraries
They lost probably the most important battle at the time and it costed them a lot.

Secondary to Nes Switch?
My brother plays fortnite splitscreen with his wife. Series S is the perfect console for him.
That's awesome to hear! For games like fortnite the Series S is absolutely excellent value.
People who are too cheap to buy a real Xbox but still want to get one.
Bruh not everyone got money like that some people don’t live with there mom and have to pay bills or rent man

We all deserve to game no matter how little money we have.
I bought series s because of it’s form factor. I don’t want a look at the huge box that is the series x.
