I went there last year Feb 2023, although slightly touristy - definitely not as heavily crowded as Phuket. I stayed on Tub Kaek Beach and drove into Ao Nang during the day, which made the perfect holiday (Tub Kaek beach has the high end resorts in Krabi, with quiet beaches, you can take a 10 min boat to Hong Islands in the morning or Ao Thalane and Dragon Crest). Then at night when wanting to enjoy some nightlife, drove to Ao Nang. (Although if drinking, just pay for tuk tuks!)

I agree, we wanted to go to Chiang Mai but were too late because all the train tickets were booked and the flights were more expensive :(
I found Krabi and Ao Nang to be too crowded and to full of tourists. December 2023
That’s interesting. There were alot of people but Ive only been to Thailand in the summer time really which is rainy season for them
