  • Krabi is located on southern Thailand’s west coast. Krabi is home to impressive limestone cliffs, dense mangrove forests, white sand beaches, and more than 100 offshore islands.
    😴 BOOK A PLACE TO STAY IN KRABI
    - Krabi Forest Homestay (this budget place is where we stayed): www.booking.com/hotel/th/the-...
    - COSI Krabi Ao Nang Beach: www.booking.com/hotel/th/cosi...
    10. Enjoy the Ao Nang beaches & sunset
    Ao Nang Beach is a great place to admire the Andaman sea, take a dip, and watch the sunset.
    9. Explore the food & nightlife at Ao Nang
    The Soi RCA Entertainment area is the place to go if you’re looking for a late night party.
    8. Go For an Island-Hopping Tour
    We did a day trip by longtail boat, covering 4 islands. There were multiple stops for swimming and snorkeling and a stop at Railay Beach.
    ☑️ Book 4 Islands Tour: www.getyourguide.com/ao-nang-...
    7. Hike the Wat Tham Sua
    Sitting right outside of Krabi Town, the Tiger Cave Temple is certainly worth a visit. Most visitors come to climb the 1,260 steps to the top of the hill.
    6. Explore Thung Teao Forest Natural Park
    There is a short boardwalk trail that takes you to three different pools in the middle of the jungle: Crystal Pool, Emerald Pool, and the Blue Pool.
    5. Dip into the Krabi Hot Springs
    Cut into smooth rocks, the hot springs flow from deep rooted thermal springs that are located inside volcanic chambers.
    ☑️ Day tour to the Emerald Pool, Hot Springs, and Tiger Cave Temple: www.getyourguide.com/krabi-l2...
    4. Krabi Town Weekend Night Market
    Krabi Town is the capital of Krabi. And like many other big towns in Thailand, there is a local night market here. Every Friday to Sunday from 4 to 10 PM the market is set up next to the Chao Fah Pier.
    3. Go on a boat tour to Koh Phi Phi
    Koh Phi Phi are undoubtedly Krabi’s most popular islands to visit. From Ao Nang, you can join a full-day speedboat tour to the islands, which are encircled with sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and spectacular natural scenery.
    ☑️ Day tour to Phi Phi Islands from Ao Nang: www.getyourguide.com/krabi-l2...
    2. Relax a few days at Koh Lanta
    Koh Lanta Yai is an island about a 3 hour drive away from Ao Nang. With a variety of unspoiled beaches, it’s a great place to relax. There are also certified diving schools offering diving and snorkeling trips to nearby islands and reefs.
    1. Railay beach rock climbing
    Railay beach is home to white sand beaches, cute bars and restaurants, as well as its spectacular caves, such as Phra Nang and Diamond Cave. It's also a rock climbing destination.

    Another good destination near Krabi are the saline hot springs, one of the very few hot saltwater springs in the world. I went there yesterday, and was the only foreigner. Tourists don't seem to know about this place, and it's not far from the Emerald Pool and cascading hot springs. Another cool activity at Railay is to climb up to the viewpoint from where there's an awesome view of the peninsula. You can also descend to the lagoon below.

    Great overview video! The only thing I found a bit odd that I would want to make clear to folks is: While Koh Lanta Yai was the only island described as "small" in this video, it is by far the biggest island mentioned in this video.

    I have stayed in Ao Nang in Feb 2018 and Feb 2020 on my 3rd and 4th Thailand trip respectively,. I have visited all the places in the video (except the clubbing part). On my 3rd trip to Thailand, I did stay 5 nights in Ao Nang, then 3 nights in Koh Phi Phi Don, then 1 night in Koh Lanta but I did see a few beaches there and then 3 nights in Koh Lipe in the deep south. Personally, I prefer Krabi over Phuket any day

    I have been looking at a lot of your Thailand videos and planning places to visit. Great videos by the way. Did you look up all these places before hand, or was it word of mouth, did locals tell you where to go? Do I have to plan everything ahead or can I just find different adventures there?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! We usually do research before we visit a place. But once we're there, we get more recommendations from other travelers and locals that we add to our plans! So you definitely don't need to book everything in advance. For some people it's just a piece of mind... others like to be more flexible and go with the flow! 😉 Have a great trip!

      Thanks! Glad you liked it. Yes, it's definitely a safe destination that you can visit with your mom wife. You might want to fly into the airport near Krabi instead of Phuket (from Phuket it's a bit long bus ride). There are many great hotels in Ao Nang, and you can probably do the day tours on the mainland, and maybe make your way to Railay Beach to enjoy some sun and relaxation

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm both are nice! Phi Phi Don has less things to do, except for relaxing at the beach, a hike to the viewpoint, and a tour to Maya Bay. From Ao Nang, there are more cool things to do, but it's the bigger one of the two with more resorts (so feels less like a paradise island). Maybe you can combine both? We stayed 6 nights in Ao Nang and did many trips and activities, we also stayed 2 night on Phi Phi Don.

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sounds like an amazing present! Krabi is busier than Khao Lak. Khao Lak is more for relaxing, Krabi has tons of things to do. For Phuket, we'd recommend staying at the west side, but outside Patong. Areas like Karon, Kata Beach, or Ya Nui are better in our opinion.

      Ao Nang is a good base as you can easily visit the islands, but also take a short boat ride to Railay, or explore the mainland of Krabi ☺️

      We stayed about a week. Minimum we would say is 3-4 days. Lots of things to do in and around Krabi! July can get a bit rainy because it’s raining season

    How long does it take to get to PP island from Krabi? On the full day tour, how many hours are you on a boat? The day trip looks great but I don’t want to spend hours on a boat moving from one place to the next. Thanks

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It takes at least 45 mins by speedboat to get to Phi Phi. But even at Phi PHi, you still will go by boat between all the different islands... If you're concerned about too much time on the boat, it might be better to take a ferry to Phi PHi Don and then stay a few days. Do a boat tour from Phi Phi Don to Maya Bay!

  • @nikajourneys

    Do I understand correctly that I should stay in Ao Nang for 3-4 days and travel to Phi Phi, Hong Island, Railey and Ko Kai from there? Or should I stay in each place for a night?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on you. I wouldn’t change location every night, that would be exhausting. You could base yourself in Ao Nang and visit Hong Island and Railay from there. You could stay one or two nights in Phi Phi Don and visit Maya Bay from there as well.

      Four island hoping is a day out really. stopping on Islands, also stopping to eat the meals they provide (some tours) on one of the islands. Defo not an on the day booking, you can get on the day bookings with smaller tours and boat taxi rides to specific islands like Railay Beach.
      The best mainland beach is a place called Klong Muang Beach and it's only 20 mins away from Ao Nang. This beach has hardly no tourist on it and is right up there with any of the island beaches. Best bit is, it's free lol, not that anything is major expensive there anyway.

    • @danskinner73
      @danskinner73 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest, that would be a very busy 3 days and you would spend most of your time travelling, rather than seeing/doing stuff! Phuket is by far the biggest island and you could easily spend a week and not see it all. We have just returned from 2 1/2 weeks in this area - we spent 3 nights/4 days on Phuket, then a boat to Phi Phi Don for 4 nights/5 days stay, then on to Koh Lanta for a 6 nights/7 days stay. We returned via road to Phuket via Krabi for a further 2 night/3 days stay. We still had lots to see and do! Phi Phi and Lanta were our favourites by a country mile over Phuket

      Depending on your level of comfort. Can be cheap (2-5$ per meal, 20-30$ per night for a double room, and activities 10-30$ per person per day). But you can also go a lot more expensive if you decide to stay in a nice accommodation and eat at waterfront touristic restaurants
