Look at the padme sh figuarts the quality is crazy good so the 350 price tag is justified

I was on the same boat as you guys. But once I held and played with my first two SHF, Leia and Solo, it was a game changer for me. I got it from Amiami for below retail price given that they were older figures. You really can’t compare SHF Mace with BS Mace. The face sculpt on the BS is great, but the SHF looks like a human being that was shrunken down. It poses naturally, not blocky like the BS. I am getting rid of some BS human characters and keeping most BS troopers and aliens. But to each its own. Keep up the good work!
Cholo Fino Fair enough, I would probably pick one up if I could find them on sale as well. That’s how I ended up with a Mafex FO Stormtrooper and I enjoy that figure quite a bit. Maybe one day I’ll find one just to try it out. Anyways, thanks for checking out our video! -Nate
I have to agree with the Mace Windu figure the face is kinda dumbfounded. I do have both and used Black series Mace on a different shelf. Also the Episode 1 Obiwan and Qui gon are excellent alot with Maul. I do collect both lines. I don't know anyone who just collect Shf and nothing else, I collect both.

Everything aside from the price seem like excuses to rationalize not collecting them. Hey, to each their own. I wish more people felt as you do, it would make pre ordering less stressful
I think the 1/4 of a character selection would like to have a word with you. Oh and also how many figures were announced years ago and just never came out? But more power to ya! I’ve got a couple since this video but honestly would never go all in. IG-11 is badass from SHF. I do hear you on the PO situation. I was planning on grabbing that Rearmored Boba. -Nate

Honestly with the way ML prices are these days with nearly zero accessories or extra hands/heads, I just go straight for the SHF/Mafex lines. Better sculpts and articulation, accessories, heads, hands, flight stands. It’s just a better bang for my buck. Plus I only use the black series or ML to supplement what characters the imports haven’t made (Bounty Hunters, Jedi, Quicksilver, Shield/Hydra soldiers, etc.)

I'm primarily a Figuarts collector, though more DBZ than Star Wars. I also have a large collection of Black Series.
I can't speak for Troopers, I don't own any Figuarts Troops and I love the BS versions, but for Jedi/Sith/whatever we call Kylo, I just feel like Figuarts wins. Black series saber user usually jut feel clunky to me, I can never get them in a pose I like.
But first time listener, this was fun. Nice show.

Looking at your pfp I’m guessing your into Kamen rider. I’m also a pretty big Kamen rider fan and I notice there aren’t much good Kamen rider figures other than sh figuarts. There’s no hot toys Kamen riders and sh figuarts does a pretty good job. There are just some things that you can’t get unless you buy figuarts so in that way i agree
I'm a big Grievous fan and his black series figure was a bit of a letdown. Not scaled well and feels very fragile (in fact one of his knees have started to break). Should I get a new one, or dive into the Bandai model kit for a better scaled figure?
Josh Pierce Yeah, I heard you on Grievous. Mine took a tumble of my shelf and his toes snapped off. I have been really considering the Model Kit. I’m pretty sure it’s bigger and seems to be more sturdy but the downside of the Model Kit is you gotta add all the battle damage and details yourself or else he’s gonna look randomly clean for General grievous. I have some of the other model kits and I love em! They look great and idk about you but I do enjoy the aspect of putting them together. Thanks for watching! -Nate
@@OutOfTheBasement I work with Lego, so I'm no stranger to building my toys. I see the model is cheaper on BBTS right now, so I may go in on that. Never really needed GG to have battle dmg. Clean armor just means Jedi have a hard time touching him
IG88 was a let down to with the height
Episode 3 Anakin was not an exclusive like Dooku. He was available on all of the import sites. They are not allowed to sell them here domestically through Bluefin like the Dragonball Z stuff. So importing is the only option but it’s really not that tough. Can get pricey though obviously.

Nice video guys and excellent topic for discussion! I was all in on Black Series for awhile and now I collect both BS and SHF. I got into SHF with the Praetorian Guards... they're just a lot better than the BS versions (elbow joints for example). But you really get a good bang for your buck with BS IMO. Keep up the cool videos!!

Yeah, most of my collection is Black series, but I do have 2 SH figuarts figures that are head and shoulders above their Black series counterparts. The recent Black series Jedi Knight Luke beats the SH Figuarts version from a few years years back hands down. I was never a fan of that figure. Looks more like Malcolm McDowell than Mark Hamil! However, the SH figuarts Farmboy Luke Skywaker is still the best 6" representation of this character to date. Also check out the new SH Figuarts Darth Vader. It might just be the best Darth Vader to date, and I friggen love the Black Series 40th Anniversary Darth Vader.

I collect both companies and Yes I love side character Bounty Hunters, General Veers, Tarkin. You can mix some characters I have both on the shelves. Great Episode good points 👍

It's funny you say some people recommend you sell your black series and start collecting SHF. Because I sold my Star Wars SHF to start collecting Black Series. Hasbro is closing the gap quickly and it's easy to customize and fix any issues cheaply with black series.
However I still collect Mafex and SHF DC figures because DC toys in America are total garbage. And I understand the idea of limitations in collecting.

Nice! Yeah, I totally agree. The best example yet would be Mace Windu. Honestly he seems like he’s better in every way than the SHF and for a fraction of the price. But yeah you aren’t kidding when it comes to DC figures. I’m hoping McFarlane can give us some goodies although that first wave line up was a little disappointing if you ask me. What do you think? Out of the Basement Yes, agreed. I was a bit let down by the McFarlane figures. Especially the fact that they decided to go the 7 inch route.
True but I’m not super surprised they went 7 inch. I don’t collect them but I think their fortnite line is 7 and they are probably recycling bits and pieces for the DC stuff. The articulation looks identical to me.
I collect both black series and sh figuarts and I really enjoy both company's I recently got the Boba Fett from sh figuarts and it is awesome! And it fits perfectly with my BS collection so if you to get one start with Boba!

@@OutOfTheBasement I do have some troopers and I've found the first order trooper is alot of fun but dont get Phasma her legs are loose at the hips and it's hard to get her to stand but the basic first order trooper is the best!

BS printing tech for its price is winning at the moment, its also very durable plastic. shf may have better figure detail, but its very fragile looking

What your thoughts on star wars funko pops?
I will give my thoughts. I dont collect pops period! Not a fan of them as they are not actual figures and look weird to me. That being said given the fact the make so many variations and fandoms i see why alot of people like to collect them 👍
None of here on the channel are Funko Pop collectors. We have pretty negative opinions on them, but it's okay if you're into them. We kind of just look at them as novelty, gimmicky, corny, and equate them to beanie babies. -Justin
So 5:24 in on vid. Have to clock back in from lunch but you are making some valid points. Only thing i differ on is Mace Windu i Own both SHF and BS and the SHF wins straight fig to fig comparison (not comparing price point etc) also the shf figs i own i love but i will say majority of my 1/12 scale star wars figs are BS and will continue to be! I did just get my confirmation for the rotj shf boba fett so i should have him soon and will let you know what i think of him. Will finish video later and comment more. I agree with you guys...black series has a far better orice point in the states...a far bigger library of characters...and recently a minimal difference of quality...let alone black series are also easier to get. In the end its a no brainer for me to chose black series. And its also a no brainer that no one should be telling you guys what you should collect....people should cillect what they want and keep their nose out of other peoples collection and wosrry about their own...controlling issues seem run rampant amongst collectors...t.v.c. Collectors are even worse...not all...but enough to be a pain in the butt...
Luckily I have not ran into any "militant" collectors like that. But I agree, Black Series is the way to go! -Justin

Personally I think most the s.h figuarts look absolute shit. Their articulation May be good but the rest looks like ass. Specially the Kylo Ren and Count Dooku. They look horrible.

Good points all around. While figuarts has produced a few figures I would like to own, I also have to watch the figure budget (which Hasbro has not made easy this year lol). I'd also like to know how durable SHF are. My black series have survived many a toy photo shoot, still in great shape.
After the Jean Grey 3pack I'm done with ML. I mainly go for the classic comic stuff from my 90s childhood. Lighting Collection has been a godsend, those Bandai figures were ok, I kept my Green Ranger but sold the rest.
I've always wanted a Mezco, especially that Supreme Knight Batman.
Shf are pretty durable imo. Ive used them in several Figure photos and they have survived a few falls from my shelves. As far as mezco goes they make.some really next level figs but also some duds imo. For Star wars The black series is an amazing line and if i had to only collect one line of star wars ...Black Series or SHF i would go with Black series because price point, more easly obtainable, and way more charachters to collect. Luckily i cam collect both and SHF scale.really well imo with Black Series so its a win win 👍

SHF to me is overrated. I like the Black series, collected since the beginning. I like everything uniformed and the variety Black series gives.
