My sister & her husband separated & he moved in with his girlfriend. They lived that way for abt 25 yrs. He died at the age of ard 45 from cirrhosis of the liver due to alcoholism. My sister had NEVER stopped paying is life insurance policy (because it automatically came out of her paycheck so she never missed it). She collected a HUGE amount of cash and never looked back!!! My sister was a VERY PATIENT GENIUS !!!

He dont want to pay alimony. After 25 years of marriage she get half of everything. That's why.
Alimony and division of property is based on the laws of the state where the divorce is filed. In some states, she'll receive half of everything. In other states, she'll only receive a portion of the assets accumulated AFTER the marriage. So no, she won't automatically receive half of everything. I know plenty of people who got divorced and didn't. I also know women who got divorced and didn't receive one penny of alimony. What she receives will be based on what the attorneys negotiate. And again, that's based on the laws of the state where their divorce is filed.
As long as HE is still married to her, he cannot COMMIT to anyone else. That’s HIS story, she won’t give me a divorce.

Not really buying this. Sounds like they both just got comfortable with the situation. Maybe it’s monetary/tax reasons, maybe nostalgia or just plain laziness.
She probably has an idea what his financial situation looks like so she’d know if he truly couldn’t afford it. He just sees no necessity in the divorce. She wants it a little more than him maybe but also clearly not enough to make it a priority. If they’re truly friends as she describes I doubt he would’ve jeopardised that over $500. Had she just filed for divorce in the end he would’ve probably chipped in with the cost. I’m wondering whether these $1000 are actually gonna go towards a divorce.

Ive known at least 4 ppl in this situation. In one the guy didnt want the divorce so he can tell his new girls that he cant marry them because his wife wont let him out. He was really hoping to outlive her so he could get her assets. Another guy wanted the social security money because he never kept a job and always chased women. None of the women wanted the divorce because they still low key hoped to rekindle and/or loved to lord the title over their current girlfriends to prove the men still really wanted them. All except one just wanted the money and for them to die.

I bet they are still NOT divorced. He doesn't want to move on and neither does she. They may not be intimate or together in the traditional sense but they are FAMILY. She said they co-parent and co-grandparent. Belinda's not unhappy with the situation. My parents weren't together but they supported each other til the day my mom died. They were family & best friends. My siblings & I thought it was crazy but it worked for them.

Some states say you have to be seperated for a period of time, before you can get a divorce. My sister pulled that crap for 7 years. He didn't work/nor help with bills when they were married so I don't even know why she thought he was going to work/have money when they're not together.
