Honestly, major congrats. To get back into running alone after everything you've been through is an accomplishment, but to race a 5k is amazing. I really hope this inspires people to get into running, it's seriously life changing.
Started watching this video, remembered that I still had three runs to do this week with couch to 5k, went on run, came back and finished watching :) Thanks for the reminder!
Congratulations on doing the 5K Hannah!!! It takes me well over 33 min to do a 5K, and I haven't had any surgery haha. I really enjoyed this vlog, and especially how happy you were after completing the run and getting your time result!
This video gave me so much hope. I gained 30 kg in the last 3 years and recently I started to feel the results of letting myself go. I'm struggling with mental health and shoulder and knee pain, but I'm only 22. So seeing you after a difficult year, after two surgeries, run 5km, it's truly inspiring. I started exercising a week ago and I can't wait to see the results!
Keep at the exercise and diet, and follow your doctor's advice. I have a daughter who has PTSD, so know about mental health issues. People can give all sorts of stupid pieces of advice, based on opinion. Or don't believe, because she "Looks normal". Hang in there, and get all the help you need and want. Don't tough it out if you know you won't make it. hugs... ps she got herself a service dog last year and it's made all the difference, getting her out and about. Little yappy Chihuahua, but she's a sweety.
Very proud of you, Hannah. 10 minute mile is a great running speed due to less strain on your joints. Several physicians have told me to walk fast, instead of running. Easier on your joints and won’t need a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. 😳 Life throws us awful barriers, Hannah. Unfortunately, you had yours at a young age. It’s still shitty. Outstanding accomplishment! Love your new flat. Ron
QUEEN! You are an amazing role model for all women/girls out there! Thanks for keeping it real and uplifting, wishing you all the best for 2019!! Love from Portugal
I just wanted to say something and I really hope you see this I posted on your new year post saying I wouldn’t be here to say happy new year if it wasn’t for you and I really meant it. Thank you for existing, because i wouldn’t be here to say thank you if it weren’t for your radiant positivity and for giving me reason and purpose. Thank you Hannah. You’re literally a life saver.
I watched your first video in this series thinking that it was going to be a massive mountain for you to get over, and that it was something that I myself would never be able for. And then I watched your second video, and you were already making gains in your progress, and it made me think 'huh...'. Then after Christmas I decided I'd give it a go. I did my fourth run yesterday and I already love it. It's both much more manageable, and much more FULFILLING than I thought it would be. I haven't had surgery, but I was one of those girls who would make up any excuse to get out of PE class, and since finishing school five years ago has done little to no regular exercise. So if I can not only do it, but LOVE it, then there's hope for all of us!
I'm watching this in 2020, in the process of recovering from COVID-19. I used to do Parkruns most weekends, but I have been breathless and struggling to do anything more strenuous than a brisk walk for about 4 months now. I have been rewatching this series, and the amount of motivation it has given me is immense. A lot of my recovery has been lonely, as doctors have not taken my condition seriously. This has made me feel significantly less alone, and given words to my thoughts and feelings. I am now more willing to trust my body, see breathlessness as necessary for good exercise (even if it's a lot less than what I used to do!), and keep going when it's difficult. Thanks.
This series has inspired me so much! I finish off my alevels in 2 weeks and I plan to follow the couch to 5k programe over the summer, and hopefully like you take part in a local park run in september before I head of to university! I've never run before and haven't been physically active for quuiiiite a while as my school work took priority, but seeing you take up this challenge after everything that has happened to you, is truly inspiring! Thank you! 💕
Wow how amusing , two years later and I’m 6 months away from finishing uni and I did NOT finish the park run programme that summer! Maybe I’ll try again in the future… hahaha
Hannah, i just want to say how totally brilliant you are! I love the way you take any topic regardless of how difficult it is to talk about and present it to the public in a totally relaxed and easy going manner. Kudos to you for being so open about such personal things. J.
Damn Hannah, you've set yourself this goal after all that shit you had to go through last year, and then you went ahead and CRUSHED it! I'm super happy for you, you're an absolute badass and I wish you nothing but happiness and only good things to come.
Parkrun is literally the best thing ever!! Got my time down to 26.45 recently, and doing a 10K race this month!! I really admire you for doing this Hannah, you're an inspiration to all!❤️
I am so proud of you and very happy that you are documenting these personal challenges in your life. This is encouraging to anyone who faces significant physical challenges, but also to folks who aren't sure they can both have a physical or mental issue which they address positively and then go on to achieve *personal* bests at the other end. Good on you and the work you do!
So proud of you Hannah! You are such an Inspiration and I really look up to you. Remember be proud of yourself and reward yourself for your efforts you go girl!
Well done, you have inspired me to do the Couch to 5k with my brother. I'm 36 and I used to run a lot, New York marathon etc but I haven't ran in about 3yrs since I got a virus that has changed my balance. Thank you for your videos on running, you truly have inspired me to get back into it. All the best, Maeve in Ireland
You had two major abdominal surgeries and part of your bowel is outside of your body, and you just ran a 5k!!! I am so amazed and I was rooting for you the whole time. Please make more videos of your running journey 🏃♀️ because they are so motivational.
This is an amazing achievement considering your surgery journey! Just shows what we are capable of when we make goals and take steps to achieve them. You're an inspiration 😊
Just wanted to say it’s absolutely amazing that you complete the 5k, you’ve inspired me to do couch to 5k this year to help with my depression! (I just need to get some trainers that aren’t a decade old now)
So excited to see that this video was up!!! I did couch to 5k last year and am now doing the 10k program. Although I haven't finished the program yet I actually got my 10k today and I've been so happy for the rest of the day :D Anyway, I've really enjoyed this series and congratulations on your progress!
Love this whole series! Would love to see a final wrap up video on it, maybe plans for the future or things you've learned? Either way love this! It's inspired me to start training for my own 5k :)
Well done!! You deserve to feel so proud of yourself! You’ve come so far in the last year it’s so inspiring to see as someone who also has chronic illnesses (included colitis)!
Congratulations Hannah!! 💪🏻 You’re amazing, that’s a brilliant result. I recently achieved my PB for 5K and I managed 35.48 and I’ve never had any surgery so I’m in awe of you, that’s fantastic! Really pleased for you, you can be rightfully proud of all that you’ve achieved. Hope 2019 continues on the up for you xx
This has inspired me so much! I had an emergency c-section 16 months ago, followed by keyhole surgery 10 months ago and I've gone from a healthy girl with abs, to a blob with a beer belly, I think this is finally the push I needed to get back to my old self ❤
Congratulations Hannah! 😁 I'm impressed you even took running back up after 2 major surgeries in a year, but I'm super impressed you managed to finish the 5k, and in the kind of time you wanted too. You're a star! 🥇
Your determination to get back on your feet after two major surgeries is amazing! So happy you did it. Also, I don't know if it was intention but I like this this was 5 episodes.
Well done Hannah! I did Couch to 5k in 2015 and was doing 5Ks around 32-24 minutes for 2 years... I could never get that sub-30 5K! And then I did a 10 mile Great South Run but I STILL never got the sub-30 5K! I did the same as you, Couch to 5K and then parkrun. I just looked and my first parkrun was 34:04 and my PB is 31:28! I've just started Couch to 5K again after a year of laziness and this time I am determined to somehow get the sub-30 5K and then I will be happy! Also to get to 50 parkruns as I was on 39 before I stopped in 2017! Well done on an amazing time for a Surgery to 5k, you should be so proud!
I started watching your videos couple of months back....I also have ulcerative colitis....I was able to relate to you....and been a fan of yours ever since....I didn't have to do surgery but I have to take an i v medication for the rest of my life every two months....thank you for being very open about this....and congratulations on your achievement...
so happy to see you recovered from your surgery, I watch your video for preparing my exam, listening and speaking part (hahaha),suddenly I found that I can understand what you say without subtitles, hope I can way back to my life soon as well....and, Hannah 👍
I'm able bodied and never even managed to run 2 kilometers straight, I always had to split run and walk. So I'm so amazed that you did this! Well done, so proud!
Good work! Keep it up! Hope that you can keep this run going on! No matter it's gonna be another 5K or 10k, still a good work to keep up the exercise! Good for your health too!
Good job! Watching this series makes me want to get into shape at least to where I don’t get out of breath as easily. So when I get back to my university’s campus, I’m going to start running and maybe going to the gym since the students have a free membership. So thank you for being a motivating force that I needed. 💛
I'm so happy for you Hannah! Your videos always make me smile or help me to learn something, and I think you're a really cool and inspirational person! Congrats on your time and for documenting your journey to it in such a cool way 🎉🎉🎊🎊
I'm soooooooooo proud you're accomplished a 5K run! :) Amazing time, I'm sooooooo proud of you for reaching your goal!!!! I'm soooooo happy for you!!!!!
So glad to see you made it. For us the people who don't run every day finishing is an accomplishment, if I ran the 5k I would probably be last but I would just be happy finishing. I don't run unless I have to....
Just wow!! You should get yourself a watch to track times accurately as unless you're first across the time, parkrun times will always be longer than the actual time you did it (if that makes sense?) Feeling totally inspired and just started one myself after watching husband run for years. You should feel so proud!! Xxx
Congratulations! I'm a parkrunner myself - it's a fantastic thing and I love that you're indirectly spreading the word. Also well done on doing a second one in two weeks (it's very easy to find people's parkrun profiles).
Well done! Have you heard of the Shelter run up a skyscraper in London in March? it looks really good, after you mentioned your struggles with the stairs in your old flat might be the perfect challenge for you
Congrats Hannah this was super inspiring ! I kind of started running a couple months ago with the goal of running a 5k too, Ive never been really super fit, I just wanted to get more active. to my own surprise I managed to run 5k so much quicker than I thought but it still took me about 40min lmao, so now the goal is to run it in about 30 min and then we’ll see! 🏃🏾♀️
Congratulations!!! It was amazing to see this journey and really inspiring (I'm slowly working on getting my fitness level back up after 5-6 years of chronic illness not letting me do anything but lie in bed pretty much lol). I will never do a 5k run because I really hate running, but this series was still very motivating to me.
Good job! Hope you are able to keep it up! You have some momentum now, which is a great spot to be in, but it can be so easy to lose that momentum and just fall out of the habit of doing it (I should know, I'm stuck in the middle of one of those runless ruts). Good luck with your next step!
ALSO, I'm know you said that you'd never do another half marathon immediately after the previous one... but that only lasts until you find the next cool one to sign up for. You'll be back out there doing another one in no time. ;-)
Honestly, major congrats. To get back into running alone after everything you've been through is an accomplishment, but to race a 5k is amazing. I really hope this inspires people to get into running, it's seriously life changing.

Amazing!
Great work Hannah! Super dooper proud of you! Strictly is calling you now. 💃
hahaha thank you!
I got an ad for a stoma care product on this video!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I don't have a stoma, but getting such an applicable ad was exciting haha
janicew9 same here!
Congratulations on doing the 5K Hannah!!! It takes me well over 33 min to do a 5K, and I haven't had any surgery haha. I really enjoyed this vlog, and especially how happy you were after completing the run and getting your time result!

Congratz!!! So 215th out of 234... but over 90% of those 234 most likely didn't go through anything like you did !!! Most impressive!
You've never done one if you think that

Congratulations on completing the 5K! This series is really making me want to do the Couch to 5K myself.
You are such an inspiration, well done! You have inspired me to get back into running - I used to be just under that 30 minute mark too 😊
CONGRAAATS GIRRL!!
Congratulations Hannah on your journey to 5k! Enjoyed this series of vlogs. Have a great weekend!
I love that Hannah is as obsessed with all the stats around running as I am. Gotta quantify that progress!!!
I have absolutely loved this series and it's actually really inspired me to sort out my core, so I can go back to running!
This has inspired me so much! I had an emergency c-section 16 months ago, followed by keyhole surgery 10 months ago and I've gone from a healthy girl with abs, to a blob with a beer belly, I think this is finally the push I needed to get back to my old self ❤

Yaaaaay go Hannah! so proud of you, you're such a warrior queen! 💗💪👑
Congrats, Hannah!!
Xxx

I loved this series so much! Congratulations on your achievement (and your time)! :D
Congrats Hannah! I'm so proud of you!!! Well done.
Wow! Congratulations Hannah!
You have been amazing in your recovery :)
Nicely done. You inspire many people. Have a healthy 2019.

Congratulations!!! And thank you for promoting healthy activity and a healthy attitude! I hope you have an amazing 2019
Yaaaaaaas well done Hannah!!!
I just did my first C25k run. So slow, but I love it.
Aw I'm so proud of you!!!!
Ughhh I'm so proud of you Hannah! What a champ you are ♥
Killin' it Hannah!!!
Congrats Hannah!
Great job Hannah!!
Yay!! You did it I’m so proud of you ❤️
Well done! You're amazing xxx
congratulations hannah!!! ur an incredible soul
You'll be back out there doing another one in no time. ;-)
What an inspiration!!! I’m so proud of you
Amazing work!
Congrats on your time and completing the run.
Just keep doing those 5ks!
