Iv found that changing the antennas placement on this quad is an absolute must! The way they have them causes all kinds of range issues! Not even 100 yards away ans im getting to the red its crazy so ditch the factory antenna placement and put them pointing straight up and you will get incredible range! Yeah its a little tricky but i figured how to put them pointing up you can too!

One of the most reliable highest qaulity drones iv ever purchased and out of all my quads this particular one i feel more comfortable taking long range then any other because i know its coming back!

Sweet review, looks like a fun little drone. Have you unlocked the 1000mw and 1200mw settings on your DJI system yet? 1200mw isn't legal but the 1000mw might have helped on those earlier flights.
Do you think the position of the video antennas is what caused your video link to cut out?
Also, is it possible to have a go pro on this with how short the top plate is? It almost seems like a go pro wouldn fit with the battery there.

Batt on bottom if you want a GoPro on top. Antenna position could have been the reason. But there was super thick trees in the way. I’ll test analog cam through that same spot this week.

Why HD with props in the shot? Why? Could have been a great alternative to IFlight. Why would one ruin the HD video that way.... I don’t get it. Thumb up for Justin, down for Holibro.

Folks that are racing aren't going to care about props in shot and folks doing professional freestyle will use a goPro. This frame design provides better performance in exchange for props in view. That's a no brainer to some and dealbreaker for others... isn't it nice to have options?
@@MindRiderFPV all racers have their props in view, if you're not going for 60°+ and dji is racable, just not as light as analog.
You had a failsafe because of the position of the antennas. They should haven't been pointing at your transmitter.
BADRX what do you mean bro ? I get fail safe problems too. when I fly the connection cuts off for a split second then comes back . I don’t know why . If anyone can help me please. That would be great thanks
It didn't failsafe. I had video freeze.
@@dronecamps I meant I think the video freeze was produced by the antennas position: They shouldn’t have been mounted horizontally, because the radiation pattern of those is designed to be placed vertically (or diagonally to be more precise), so that you have the weakest radiation points facing the sky and the ground, not your transmitter. I’ve been doing many long range sessions for a long time and I think that’s the best way of getting the most of them.
If you can use 700mw why would anyone run anything lower ya know? I just ordered this quad though and I hope it's worth the money! This video helped me a lot though!!
Question for all of you flying the new DJI stuff - Once you started flying with it, did it ruin analog for you? Do you still enjoy taking your analog quads out when you head out to fly? I'm afraid that's going to be my reaction, and a costly reaction that would be, lol. Thanks guys.
It doesn't ruin analog but it makes you realize how bad analog is. I still fly my fatshark Dom V3's because I have 6 frames with analog cams. However the view of the DJI is amazing.

Any of the DJI quads have to be "activated" with DJI. Just their thing. This system does not track your flight by gps like the Phantom, and Mavic series.
I have the DC5 frame because you can't see the props in the goggle

Opens video for DJI race quad integration, stops video as soon as props are seen. I am not spending a thousand dollars on a video system so i can stare at props...lol I am sure there will be several frames out by the time I am ready to get setup.

Hi Justin Great video and review of the KOPIS 2 HDV , I have been wanting a Kopis ever since I seen it 1 1/2 years ago and when the Kopis 2 came out, I knew that I would get one. But I don't plan on buying the DJI HD system only for the price of the camera and air unite is to much per plane. Besides most all my quads are 3 inches or smaller. But Thanks for sharing this information with us.
Do the 1000 mw mode on googles
I think I'm going to have to do some modifications to it to get those props out of The view. it looks like you could Mount the front arms under the chassis instead of on top like they have it and you could also move the camera up in between the two plates

Yes I am currently flying with a Jumper T16 and LOVE it.
I love my Kopis 2 too but the iFlight doesn't just have "way less" props in the view... it has NO props in the view at all. So we went with iFlight for the DJI FPV stuff.

I'd like to know more about having to register with DJI. Is this going to be like owning a phantom? If I have to register all my DJI products I'm staying with analog. Thanks
You download an app then every component has to be updated and automatically registers each component. In order for goggles and controller to work with the air unit in quad they all have to be updated which also registers it. I don't know how phantom goes but it's really pretty painless.
It takes about 10 minutes. You use the DJI Assistant software for Mac or PC. Connect the unit via USB-C cable. Takes a few seconds to activate. You can also do firmware updates with this DJI Assistant. Which a new update is now available with various power settings, 200mw and 500mw added.
@@dronecamps any worries that DJI is going to somehow limit when and where you can fly like their other drones? Either through mandatory location grab from the app to the hardware, or having to unlock the hardware for each flight via location from app? This is one of the only worries that I have with this system.
@@BillNicholsTV At this time, I do not see it. Comparing the functions of the AirUnit versus all the sensors within my Mavic Pro, the FPV system does not have the GPS, Geofencing, and flight logging built into the Mavic/Phantom systems. Even my Goggles RE had to be activated. This provides the activation of any warranty information and updates to the software/firmware.
@@BillNicholsTV You don't need to unlock it for each flight. It's a one time activation and that's it. There's also no GPS in the system, and it's not internet connected, so there's no way for them to know where it's being flown etc. This is a complete non issue .

@@dronecamps Bruh I fly at 1,200mW on omni's, just so I can sit inside my house on my couch and fly my 3" around my 1/2 acre of property LOL. It punches right through my aluminum siding and tin roof hahaha.

I got this quad minus the dji setup, and it is riddled with tons of OSCILLATIONS, and I cant even fly it on 6S without it flipping out and doing the flip of death,!? I thought since it was Holybro, and it was the most up to date version of The Kopis,2 6s, not the SE, which flew like butter,, but this quad for over 300 bucks, shouldnt fly like a brick, and the props that it comes with, suck and I could nearly keep it in the air, I had to punch the throttle just to get the damn thing from bouncing off the ground!!???? And also the break up from the VTX every time I even gently hit the throttle was un usable, then there is the punch out with the GNB 6s 100c was horrible!!!!
something wrong with your tune. if not, then you can't fly or something is broken.
They're tracking the units useage location(s). Period. The ONLY reason to register the unit itself is for warranty issues. NOT to "use" it.
You can't "use" it until you activate it.
No, they're not, this is tin foil hat nonsense. There is no GPS in the system. There is no way for them to know where it's being used other than the generic region in which it was activated which is why they require activation - to set the power limit and channels to the country in which it's used. Which by the way, you can immediately undo - DJI "leaked" how to unlock FCC mode and 1,200 mW output power with a simple text file on an SD card. Leave your conspiracy nonsense in the garbage.
