Awesome stuff. I actually have this on the original VHS, it's called "One-nil to the Arsenal", even got the cover signed by Paul Merson & David Seaman.

That's right. You can see the players back then cared for the game and the club. Now they will move club if they don't get served half time sandwiches.
There are way too many Arsenal fans who spout bollocks about how Arsenal were nothing before Wenger, and it pisses all over how good this squad were. We won the league 5 years before he took over, which is far less than the past 13 where we haven't come close.
U are right but i think it comea form the idea of after 94 arsenal tailed off and werent competing like they used to and wenger camed towards the end of 96.
+John O'Dwyer George Graham, Kenny Daglish these guys were suited to 1980s and early 90s football, but as the game evolved and tactics changed, European scouting grew more important, diet, etc they were well off the pace, as proved by any attempts of a comeback. I love GG for what he did for us, but he didn't leave too early.
To be fair GG didn’t do badly with Leeds in the late 90s but the game did evolve. Wenger brought a lot of the diet stuff into the English game and prolonged the careers of Adams, Dixon, Winterburn etc. That said, GG isn’t wrong about passing… I’ve lost count of the amount of times I watch Arsenal pass the ball to oblivion while screaming “shoot” at the TV.
What a defensive performance in the final! World class from the famous back four. Let’s hope Arteta can pull off something special in the Champions League this season 🙏🙏

He was, although in 90/91 he let the handbrake off a bit but after the disappointment of 91/92 he went Uber defensive. It was a mistake. When you have a good back 5 you can actually afford to be quite attacking.
The Cup Winners Cup was for teams who had won their major domestic Cup competition but when they started allowing more and more teams into the Champions League it became redundant because most of the time the teams finishing in the top 4 had won their major domestic Cup but played in the Champions League instead. Sad really because the Cup Winners Cup was a great tournament and was always regarded as Europe`s 2nd most prestigious trophy.

When the Cup Winners' Cup meant something. Chelsea won it when it was severely devalued,
When they won in 98 yes, they had already won it in 1971 though. Good year for London clubs that
Give me the 93 94 Arsenal side over the lot we got now. At least that lot had guts.

We got absolutely battered in that final. How we got away with the win, I will never know.

George Graham left too early, bung or not.
He had to leave because of issues with the fa but in the 94/95 season arsenal were becoming a cup team they werent competitive in the league
