These should be available to who needs them and in smaller cities too . A Home make people human and keeps people human - that’s a start

I really hate seeing these shelters, but not for the reason you might think.
I hate that they're neccessary. I hate that we can't just _properly_ house these people. Why on earth do we have our medical needs taken care of but not something as basic as shelter?
We could probably save billions by housing these people rather than leaving them out to fend for themselves and then fill our emergency rooms when they inevitably get sick or injured.

Its all in the money man, companies that own large amounts of properties like hotels and houses know if the demand for houses goes down due to peoples needs being met like this case right here their possible profits will go way down due to decreased demand on their empty hotels. Our system is set up like this entirely on purpose.

I can't stand how Tory sees these as the problem when REALLY the problem is the lack of affordable housing. He takes care of THAT issue, there won't be a need for these will there?
It's time for him to decide that he wants to be the mayor know for helping the most destitute in Toronto during a global pandemic and fix the housing situation (which is needed in Toronto because of the ease of travel to the various agencies many of the poorest of the citizenry need to access to survive and avoid becoming criminal elements in the city. They can't just LEAVE when all the agencies are located downtown or it's closest environs) and then he can live off the surfeit of goodwill he'll engender for that one act for the rest of his life.
These are merely community funded and collectively driven TEMPORARY fixes to problems he has been unwilling to solve up to this point.

Others manage to make housing a priority what's it gonna take for Toronto to do the same.?

Some people don't seem to understand why we have by-laws and zoning regulations. Whenever you make a normative claim you should try to make it as universal as possible. In other words apply it to everyone, everywhere, at all times. What do you think would happen if let everyone set up a tent wherever they pleased? Think about that for a minute.
