    Imagine you sitting in your back yard and you hear a voice talking to you, you assume its the neighbor on the other side of the fence. you and the voice hit it off really well strike up a real sense of connection. You ask why he never just comes over to share a beer. he says it doesnt work that way. You stare up at the moon and ask your neighbor what he means by that. The moon blinks and says he'd never fit.

      Yeah it's a cool twist. Usually lovecraftian horror focuses on how the insignificance of humans and how impossible it is for us to comprehend such terrors. But this story twisted it around where WE are the lovecraftian horrors that will be around long after the death of creatures like 1470 as we were around long before. Just a nice way to put things into perspective

    Oooh, Iike that one. I read it once and totally forgot, that it spoke in an Australian Accept. Laughed my Ass off, when the Interviews were played.
    Also totally forgot, that this was also somewhat of a Downer, especially when he realized , that the only ones, he was able to speak to, were basically Monsters to him. Imagine the only Beings, you are able to speak, with are giant Monsters.
    Too bad his Children couldn't speak, though it might still be a Possibility - if his Telepathy was caused through genetic Means and his telepathic Gene was simply recessive, it means, his Offspring still has the Telepathy-Gene, but simply none actually developed Telepathy. Could be worth, keeping them.
    This reminds me of another great SCP, though I forgot, what it's Number was. It's basically a Snail (or Seasnail) that thinks, it's a british Adventurer from the 19th Century. Loved that one.

    I feel the term "Neutralized" is a little disingenuous for this SCP. It implies that it was neutralized by an outside force, not by natural causes. I feel a better term for this particular instance would be "Expired". I know that's not how the classification system works, but It'd make more sense in my opinion for this SCP.

    • @SomeKindaSpy
      @SomeKindaSpy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +60

      Nah, it's appropriate.

    • @unfunnnymeme8609
      @unfunnnymeme8609 6 ปีที่แล้ว +163

      Neutralized is a general term for something that no longer has any unusual effects, it doesn't necessarily mean that it was neutralized by something like killing it. Sort of like scp-1730 which without warning, vanished from existence.

    • @yungpark6435
      @yungpark6435 6 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      Safe and Neutralized are there so that everyone knows what the designations mean, many already know Safe doesn’t really mean “safe” - just understood and contained securely. The rarest designation is Thaumial.

    • @xenathcytrin202
      @xenathcytrin202 6 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Neutralised is the general term for SCPs that no longer exhibit anomalous properties, same as Safe, Euclid, and Keter.
      How they get to that state does not matter in their classification.

    • @demongrenade2748
      @demongrenade2748 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Guys I'm well aware of what "Neutralized" means in the context of SCP. I'm just saying in this one particular instance that maybe an additional term could be used in its place for a more accurate categorization at first glance.

    Me, an arachnophobe, at the start of the video on seeing 'Neutralized':"Was he stepped on?"
    At the end: "He just wants his babies to be happy in life! 😭😭😭"

    Man sad to see him go but, his reaction when he didn't know what we were was weird from a human point of view

    Of course the Aussies had the telepathic spider.

    ....what if you put it in the clockworks on fine? Would it become an unstoppable monster or would it finally be able to comprehend the wider world beyond itself? I’m imagining a much larger spider reminiscent of the jumping spider. Socially capable. But still a large predatory spider. But still “I wouldn’t eat anything that can talk”

    the one spider i don't want to kill with fire or a nuke from orbit. At least he died from natural causes (old age?) not squished or something. Go easy 1470.

    I woulda made a small spider drone I could idk vr controller and use the scp that enhances whatever's put in it and do that till it was a perfect lifelike spider drone that I could have someone control and provide a proper spider mate for this scp

    • @punkscrafty6513
      @punkscrafty6513 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lifelike being it's a real body with no soul just a controller deal of some sort where we could inject someone's personality to talk with and spread brainwave genetics via breeding with the drone

      PUNK Scrafty that sounds pretty complicated... even for me... and I have some pretty complicated ideas about machines...

      There's an scp that enhances anything you put in it by a measured mount with no anomalous side effects
