Another fun video! I love those needle minders, tall and thread. The quilt you featured is so pretty. Have a wonderful couple of weeks. My favorite finish, is probably a pillow or a drum.
I love your videos - you are my two favourite 'tall' stitchers. I love the idea of light yellow 'thread' on your beautiful quilt. take care ladies and enjoy your summer xxxx It is winter here in Australia xxxx
Hello Carol and Jen...your video was delightful...I love to finish based on size and season...pillows can always be hung on Christmas trees or put in a basket...didn't catch the designer on Carol's snowman...loved everything you shared...have a great time at StitchCon...my husband and I haven't traveled since before Covid...blessings and best wishes❤❤
Enjoyed your video. Love seeing all of your neat needle minders. For smaller pieces, I like to finish as smalls., flat fold, or pillows. For larger pieces, framed. I try now to plan a finish when I stitch the piece. Tall Thread TFS.
Thread is my hobby, I love a Tall Stitchers needleminder. Pretty finishes and fabric. Have fun at Stitch Con and I hope you get some stitching done. I currently like to make pillows, it’s my favorite way of finishing. See you next time.
Always love visiting with the Two Tall Stitchers. I loved all you shared and hearing about your retreat. Sounds like a wonderful place. The coasters either thread spools are beautiful. My favorite finish is a pillow for smaller pieces. Am just learning the flat fold. I don’t really do larger pieces.
Enjoy your time at stitch con❤ I am excited to hear about it! I am so happy that two TALL stitchers are a constant THREAD through my floss tube viewing! My favorite style of finishing is framed needlework. I live in a small house and do not have a lot of space for displaying small things like pillows.
Tall. Love your mother/daughter relationship ❤️. I mainly frame my cross stitch. I have two large dough bowls that I put stitched pillows in. I’m running out of wall space but that hasn’t stopped me from stitching 😊
Fun video today! You make me laugh so much. I frame the majority of my pieces since I don’t see. My husband started making frames a few years ago and it’s something we can do together. 🫎
Hi Carol and Jennifer, another great video. 👏👏👏 I wish we could talk you into doing these videos every week. . . but I realize there is a lot of work involved in the making of each one. I don't have space for things to sit on, so my favorite finish would be something that hangs. Tall, Thread. Happy Stitching and Quilting. ❤❤❤
While watching your great video I finished 7 hoop finishes 😅 now I only need to find something to use to hang them on the wall. Thanks for motivating me to fully finish some projects 😊 Tall
Yes. Your friend, me, loves what you showed today. Loved all of your tall quilts and thread projects. I am sorry I will miss seeing you at stitchcon weekend B. I had a spot but cancelled to have total knee replacement and cataract/lens replacement. Maybe next year. Have a great time! 🧵🪡✂️♥️
It was great seeing what you girls have been up to. I like any finish that I don't have to do myself! Seriously, for convenience sake, finishing on a premade piece or a thrifted piece is probably my favorite. thread, tall
I loved the comment “I’ll be the tall one” 😂😂😂 I hope you enjoyed Stitch Con! I also loved the photo of The Princess sorting your DMC thread. Put those kids to work! My daughter thinks things like that are fun. Go figure. Have a great time at the concert 😊. I like to finish pillows. I love filling my tiered trays and bowls.
I would love to see the two of you do a live with Jenna moderating. How fun! Great wips and finishes and lots of fun as usual! I cut a tall thread for my needle as I was stitching and watching tonight! I love finishing as small/medium pillows for my dough bowl. Second favorite would be a flat mounted on something unique I find at a yard sale or Hobby Lobby!
Great video, long as I love them!!! I prefer my finishes framed, because I can see them. But now that I have some space in a furniture with glass doors I am making more pincushions and small pillows. I hope Jenn had a great time at Stitch Con!!! Enjoy summer!!!
Tall I really enjoy seeing both stitching & quilting. I’m slowly teaching myself quilting. It all depends on the size of the piece. Smaller pieces I like as pillows, larger pieces I like framed.
Love, love, love the banter and obvious shared love between you two. Sounds silly, but appreciate one of my comments being mentored. I live in a very rural area, and so far have not found fellow stitchers, though I commonly get to follow hay balers on the road😂. I would love tall thread! Thanks for your time and sharing.
Hello. Thanks for the enjoyable video conversations. I was delighted to see the quilt behind you. The fabric is "Butterfly Fling" by Me & My Sisters for Moda. I had lots of precuts of this fabric from "way back when" and used it to make baby quilts to donate to a local "nurses for newborns" location. Keep up the good work!!!!
Your quilts are stunning. I love turning my small stitching into Christmas ornaments. I also make cushions as finishes as it doesn't take up wall space. Tall
Enjoyed visiting with you today! I finish my stitching in many different ways including combining a stitched piece with quilting. It really depends on why or who the piece is stitched for. Framing for large pieces or pillows and flat folds or a plain flat finish for smalls. Can't wait to hear about Stitch-Con fun!
Enjoyed so much!!! Thank you both. I like box frames with no glass. I do multiple layers of sticky board covered in fabric. Kind of a combination of flat fold and frame.
Delightful video, Ladies! I love seeing what you're stitching. I have only done flat folds and pillows, so my options are limited as to what's my favorite way to finish a project. I enjoy them both because I can add trim and charms to the finished project. Pillows are probably my favorite since it's the easiest. Have fun at Stitch Con, Jennifer. I love the Two Tall Stitchers retreats- small and comfortable. I went to the Library Stitchers retreat with 150 attendees (alone - didn't know anyone) and was overwhelmed. So, I really hope this retreat goes well for you..and it should: #1 you're apart of a flosstube and #2 you're going with a friend. ❤
It is a tall order to list all my thread. Love your vids. Such a happy time! Most of my finishes lately have been pillows. But I want to try some flat finishes soon.
I just love you two! Always a joy to watch and what beautiful, joyful in color and design you make. I also do a lot of quilting. My favorite way to finish my cross stitch is with fabric weather it be a quilt, purse, tote, quilted wall hanging or smalls. I make anything into a pincushion. Always fun when time comes to pick thread color to quilt with! Enjoy your next retreat!
Hi ladies. Thank you for another fun video! Have fun at weekend B, Jen. Love your coasters, Carol. Thanks for the Cherry Hill and Holly referrals. Hair: I love going to the hair salon, but prefer my own styling. Finishing: I'm relatively new, so haven't finished many pieces but love the idea of dough bowl pillows. I'll frame the important pieces, make wall hangings for quirky ones, and will make either a book or a quilt of my random others when the pile is high enough. ⚘️ Tall and Thread, please 🤗
I am not a quilter but ADORE the quilt project talk in addition to stitching. Thank you for sharing your projects. I typically frame my projects - still have lots of wall space - and will be deep diving into getting smalls done. TALL
❤❤❤ - great video! Love that you and your mom do all things stitchy together! I prefer to frame pieces, but have also stretched my finishing preferences so I have different things to enter into the county and state fair! I’ve created Biscornus, pillows, ornaments, a two-sided necklace (on 40 count silk gauze) and a stand-up!
I enjoyed all seeing all your projects, and you telling us about your quilt retreat. Tall and thread. I frame all my large pieces. I do frame some small but most are done in pillows. I'm trying to Branch out and do some stand ups and flat ones.
Like Jennifer, my big pieces are definitely framed. Pillows come next. Haven’t tried a flat fold , yet, but on my to do list. I laughed when you said the plug ins were on the ceiling. At 5’ 1”, that is a problem for me. Plus at 70, don’t like getting on ladders so much!!!!😂 I love seeing both cross stitch and quilting on your videos. I do both, and you are inspiring!
It was great to see you both! I always forget to comment and join in on your fun polls- so this time I’m joining in! I agree with what Jen said, for large pieces I like to frame and for smaller ones I make lots of pillows and also use standing blocks or Chantelle pieces, etc… Wow, that’s a terrible answer that’ll be really hard to put into a graph! 🥴👎 I hope that you both have a great couple of weeks and Happy Stitching!
I get so excited when I see your gorgeous faces up there on video. You're my kind of weird and wonderful. I've been reorganizing and redecorating my sewing room for the last 5 days with at least 5 more to go. It was more of a wrecked room than sewing room. And speaking of Tall that's what I wish I was because sometimes I think I'm being buried in all the stuff ( oh, I mean beautiful things) that I have in my room. I know that it will be worth it when I'm finally finished. As for finishing my projects. I like doing them in project bags, pillows, bell and like you Jennifer with the bigger ones in frames. Until next time ❤&🤗🤗
Thanks for another entertaining video! I really needed a good laugh today. My favorite finish for large pieces is framing, for smalls i like flatfolds (or ornaments for really small smalls). I have a tall small I'm thinking of finishing on one of those hanging doorknob plaques from the dollar store, though. Lots of love from a not tall stitcher.❤
Jennifer, i am SO with you. I love my stylist but she does not do my hair how i do it. She colors and cuts perfectly, but she flattens/straightens it too much. Yours looks great. My favorite finish is framed, because I send it to a professional and she does great work 😜 Your retreat in rural Illinois sounded wonderful! You are at Stitch-Con right now, Jennifer, and i know you are having a lot of fun. Loved spending part of my weekend with you two!
I would love to try some sulky thread, you have made it look fun. I am not very tall, but would love to meet the Two Tall Stitchers, some day. My go to finishing is pillows for the dough bowl, I love the flat finishes, but they are so much work for me.
So enjoyed hearing about your trip to Seamless Getaways…I’m only 20 miles from there in Pontiac! I used to attend crops with your hostess Linda…we loved getting together at my best friend Chris’ house and scrapbook for hours!! I’m so glad you had such a great time! Love your flosstube!! ❤️❤️
Sweet Spring is so pretty. I think I should put it on my wishlist. I have a new project I’m going to start. 🤫 it’s a secret. It only uses one color of thread. Tall
Such a happy time at your retreat. I would say my favorite is a pillow. My next learning experience would be to do a flat fold and put it on a wood piece. Thank you Hugs
Thread, I have had several things framed in the past and more recently I tried my hand at a hoop finish, which turned out pretty well for my first attempt.
I rarely FFO my finished stitches because I really don't like finishing, but most of my finishes are pillows. Probably because that's the easiest way I found to finish them 😂. My favorite finishes, though, are flat folds.
Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your videos. Thread. Tall. Happy stitching. Enjoy Stitch Con! As far as finishing, it's all of the above, depending on the piece. But I do love flat folds and drums. Yikes see what I mean? Who can decide.
Love your floss tube…you tall ladies make me laugh….I like finishing pillows for bowls. The framing is hard, but I struggle through it…I’ve just started making flats and getting a stand up board and putting magnets on it. That way I can switch the seasons out…plus I’ve started to make my own cording that way I can use my own thread or as we call it floss…
Love you two! You always make me smile. Finishes? It depends on the piece. I agree that large ones -- and samplers -- are best framed -- but I'm not great at it and it's expensive to have it done. I do have several smalls in a large glass bowl that belonged to my mother, and I change them up on occasion. I've made flat-folds for others but haven't kept any myself. And I've put one in a cover for a journal in which to collect recipes (the piece was a Hands On Design one about baking). I'm not great at making bags but I've got one that might be suited for a small bag.. For now, several are just lying in a drawer, waiting!
I have quite a few things to fully finish right now and am overwhelmed with choosing what to do cause there are so many options! Need to just jump in and do something. Thread - tall
I like "tile" finishes, as Curious Crafters calls them. (Basically a 1-piece flat that you put in a little wooden holder. It's like a flat fold without the back part).
Cute Bunny, my tall WIP X-stitch pile in project bags is getting out of control. Baby quilt is adorable, nice Miters. My larger pieces I still frame, would like to try a flat-fold someday, and my smalls are pillows. Enjoy Stitch-Con.
1st time watcher but won't be the last, i am on board now. I am not sure how I have not found you until today, but glad I did! Tall and Thread! My favorite has been framing forever, but I am learning all the new ways of finishing, I am liking the flat fold, but still figuring it out.
My favorite finish depends on the piece. Of course my first problem is sitting down and finishing anything. I would rather stitch than finish. But if I have to choose, I probably like to do a pillow finish because it’s quick and easy.
❤ the Snowman Doorstop. Finishing totally depends on the amount of work that went into the piece. I wouldn’t do a pillow for something that was a lot of work. I love the dough bowls but am not a sewing.
Looking around me, most of my things are framed. I’ve started smalls for pillows in bowls that I’ll add to as I go along. I’m a quilter and a stitcher so I also have small quilts, wall hangings and seasonal applique I hang.
Hi ladies! Jen, You KNOW we only looked at your hair because you pointed it out!!! :) btw it looks fine. I don't know that I have a favorite way to finish my XS. I have to be in the mood and then I will do a pile all at once. As you know, finishing takes time away from actual stitching time! I usually choose whatever will suit the finished xs best. One thing I have never done is a flat fold - I've thought about it, considered it, watched instruction and read instruction - still no. I've used objects found at the thrift store, framed them, made large or small pillows, a drum, a biscornu, ornaments.
OMG - you all saved me. You mentioned someone having the TSA Precheck - and I was like - huh...i think i missed my TSA precheck appointment - sigh. BUT it was today! I was able to run and get my passport and make my appointment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'm not tall..you'd tower over me! I love the thread i bought at Persnickety . I frame just about everything. Some i hang, and some have the photo stand. I frame my own after the 2 i had framed long ago put me off of stitching because of the price! Now that i can do my own, I am back at it with lots of love!
I love seeing all the clever finishes, but alas, I always resort to frames. Love a good frame. I’d be interested in seeing your thread organization when you get around to using those rings, Carol. I always think I have every color that DMC makes, but they mysteriously disappear when I go to kit up a new project. I started "324" and was glad to see how many colors I had, but still needed to buy 85 skeins. I’m going to need a tall cabinet to store them in.
I'm a quilter, so I like to make my stitcheries into quilted wallhangings. I also like to make pillows. I haven't tried a flat fold yet. Very creative thread coasters! Looks like you had a great time at retreat! I am also tall and easy to find at a retreat! My next retreat isn't until the fall... seems like a long time to wait!!
My go to finishes are often flat fold or a flat finish because they are cute, but fast. I also frame a lot of my bigger pieces. I like pillows, but they seem to take me forever between not being a great sewer and the stuffing and adding trim. I literally had 3 pillows that all I had to do was stuff them and it took me a year! 🤦🏻♀️
I enjoy making pillows and a couple three years ago, I managed sbout 30 finishes in a couple months. I especially enjoy Christmas/Winter stitches on opalescent fabric and it dyes beautifully! Ive done some really pretty blue dyes for winter and purple opalescent for Halloween, my favorite! I am going to try some gray dye ... Jennifer, you have the loveliest hands! You could be a hand model! Those coasters are the BOMBA!!! You should take orders! Shades of Purples, my first choice and oranges or colors of Fall: red, orange and gold!?! Just a suggestion to consider!?! Please!?! TALL THREAD and I'll send you two some needle minders as well!
I wonder what it takes to make a tall thread? I haven't been sewing much lately, but am going to a quilt retreat in a couple days. I'm hoping it will fuel that passion in me again, as I have an unspeakable amount of fabric to use. 😂
The larger items I've stitched have been framed. The smaller, for the most part, are not yet fully finished as I just can't seem to decide how to complete them. I really need to spend a couple of days and just get it done but I get pulled into the next project. Tall & Thread
Your quilting retreat sounds like a blast!! Made me nostalgic. Both of your stitching looks wonderful! My favorite finish is framing. Who doesn’t love tall cones of thread. Happy stitching!❤
Yes Jen. Considering that we entrust our heads to our dressers, how can they finish our hair completely wrong when we leave the shop? It’s fine when I do it myself. 🤷🏻♀️. I’m not sure I’m qualified to comment on finishing because I haven’t yet. But I think I’m going to like flat fold a lot. You can still display your piece but it won’t require wall space. Have a great time at stitch con. Stand tall so all will find you. Carol-better get going on organizing the thread. I like doing that once I get started. Be safe and have a good couple of weeks.
Carol again I love your jewelry. Love all the stitching, quilting and goodies as well. Did you enjoy the French Open and how is Jack doing in his tennis?
Hi my fellow tall stitchers! I don’t think I have a favorited way to finish but I will say samplers always get finished in a frame. Beyond that I love pillows. I have not done a flat fold or a stand up yet, but I also like a finished piece that I can swap out monthly series finishes on. So yeah, clearly no real answer to your question!
Loved seeing all your projects!
I always look forward to seeing your videos and what all you’ve been working on 😊 thread tall
Thread. My favorite finish is framed. Thanks for sharing.
Love seeing what you did at retreat! I love thread and Two Tall Stitchers.
Fun video! My favorite finish is Flat Fold, second to that is pillow. Thread Tall. Have a great couple of weeks!
Sounds like the retreat was great. I like doing pillows. Tread and tall
Another fun video! I love those needle minders, tall and thread. The quilt you featured is so pretty. Have a wonderful couple of weeks. My favorite finish, is probably a pillow or a drum.

Another great episode. I have mostly framed items, next is pillows, now I want to learn flat folds for ease of storage. Thread, tall
Great to see you at Stitch Con! I like to finish my pieces in pillows as it is a quick finish.
I loved the comment “I’ll be the tall one” 😂😂😂 I hope you enjoyed Stitch Con! I also loved the photo of The Princess sorting your DMC thread. Put those kids to work! I like box frames with no glass. I do multiple layers of sticky board covered in fabric. Kind of a combination of flat fold and frame.
I must add, your quilts are my favorite things to see! I am going to attempt to do a project bag, but I have never quilted...

Thanks so much Rebecca - it has been fun to pull them all out and showcase them!

The framing is hard, but I struggle through it…I’ve just started making flats and getting a stand up board and putting magnets on it. That way I can switch the seasons out…plus I’ve started to make my own cording that way I can use my own thread or as we call it floss…
Your retreat sounds amazing! I checked out the website, that would be the perfect place for a little stitching retreat!
New to this and have only framed so far. But would love to attempt a flat fold!
I prefer to frame my stitching.
Helen Ds WIP video includes your needle minder approx 5-min. from the end. Looks great on the black fabric.
Yay, can't wait to see it!
Cute Bunny, my tall WIP X-stitch pile in project bags is getting out of control. Baby quilt is adorable, nice Miters. My larger pieces I still frame, would like to try a flat-fold someday, and my smalls are pillows. Enjoy Stitch-Con.
I am pretty new to cross stitching and want to try all the different kinds of finishes
1st time watcher but won't be the last, i am on board now. I am not sure how I have not found you until today, but glad I did! Tall and Thread! My favorite has been framing forever, but I am learning all the new ways of finishing, I am liking the flat fold, but still figuring it out.
Welcome!
I frame most of my finishes.
OMG - you all saved me. You mentioned someone having the TSA Precheck - and I was like - huh...i think i missed my TSA precheck appointment - sigh. BUT it was today! I was able to run and get my passport and make my appointment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Phew!
I was so excited to see a video up from you two. Enjoyed all your stitching and quilting. Thread Tall
Pillows.
You ladies are very Tall. I am only 5ft. But now I am 61 and think I shrunk to 4'11
The larger items I've stitched have been framed. The smaller, for the most part, are not yet fully finished as I just can't seem to decide how to complete them. I really need to spend a couple of days and just get it done but I get pulled into the next project. Tall & Thread
I’m the worst for finishes, love to stitch then they go in the ‘to finish’ stack. But when I do an FFO I like a flat fold. Thread. Tall.
My younger daughter was able to see Niall Horan in NC last week. She has been wanting to see him in concert for a very long time! I hope you enjoy!
You are both so inspiring!!!
Hey two tall stitchers! You are so fun to watch and I always learn of new projects to get.
Your quilting retreat sounds like a blast!! Made me nostalgic. Both of your stitching looks wonderful! My favorite finish is framing. Who doesn’t love tall cones of thread. Happy stitching!❤
Another fun video! Love the satsuma street bunny and the Lizzie Kate SAL stitch! And of course love the quilting!
Thread Tall. Love a framed finished piece even for the smaller pieces. Happy stitching 🧵
Carol again I love your jewelry. Love all the stitching, quilting and goodies as well. Did you enjoy the French Open and how is Jack doing in his tennis?
Jack is doing well - prepping now for his senior year! He will play singles again this year and is looking forward to the season
