just bought this for my artisan 3-e... havent even received my roaster and know this will help me get my business off the ground faster and more consistently.

Thank you, Steve! It just shipped out, and it's going to be a perfect match for the 3e! Just start with a less-than-capacity load of perhaps 2lbs, then slowly increase batch size from there to find where your roaster is happiest. Happy roasting!

Hi Jason, I just watched this video, very innovative idea. Can you show us one batch of roasting with this mock up feature on this roaster? I have a similar one roaster as yours, but without the Artisan tool. My unit is designed with Arduino Nano and MAX6675, plot the roast profile on Excel, but 100% manually adjust. GREAT JOB !!!

Yes, I'll try to get that added within the next couple of weeks here. Your Arduino approach sounds very creative!

@@hermetheuscoffee my design is a cheap solution, cost about $10. The only lacking is the PID control.

Hi im planning to tinker with a smola 300g roaster from aliexpress. Would this work with such a roaster? I would like to automate it. I see you also have a smola. Could you show us a video of the mods you've made to it. Thanks! Btw. Congrats on your new product. Very creative! Cheers

The Roaster Co-Pilot doesn't DIRECTLY fit on the Smola, but only because the potentiometers are a different diameter from the Coffee Crafters models. For my PID automation of the Smola, I just created some adapters in TinkerCAD that allow it to magnetically attach to the Smola. In this sense, you could move the Co-Pilot from the Artisan roaster to the Smola. I'll make a video of it in the near future. Thanks for the kind words!
