If you want to see over acting you should pay closer attention to Emily Bert Rickards on Arrow. I find the fact that Kara can geek out about meeting someone she looks up to very endearing.

Lynda carter played Wonder Woman in the 70s. Kara twirling to put out the fire was a nod to that because that is how Diana Prince would transform into Wonder Woman.
Mon-El Spends a thousand years in the phantom zone, being released finally where the LSH had a cure for his lead poisoning, and acted as most powerful member, even stronger than original Superboy. I can recall all details of stuyff like this, yet can't recall a fuckingf shopping list. :P

That is because in YJ, Martians of any colour CAN procreate together - M'gann's mother is a Green Martian, and J'onn's sister, while her father is a White Martian. Basically, it's like skin colour on Earth, except that the genes don't blend but are more of a dominant/recessive thing - YJ!M'gann has about a dozen sisters, all Green Martians, but she was a White Martian; she has at least one brother, who is also (according to series creator Greg Weisman) a White Martian. This is all on Weisman's QA website, if you can find it ("Ask Greg", on the Gargoyles site or something I believe)... Also, White Martians in YJ are (unlike the comics, and "Supergirl") no less evil or good than Green, but they ARE a minority who are victims of prejudice, and because Martians are telepathic M'gann can't hide or blend in without being caught out; this is why M'gann's life on Mars was lonely, leading to her coming to Earth where she was able to run from her self-identity problems... So yes, in YJ the animated series, M'gann and J'onn are related; but that wasn't the case in the comics. As to whether it's the case (in some way) here though? A Young Justice cw show would be amazing. With the reveal of Meghan it seems like they might be setting up for it. It's still a long shot but my hopes are building. It would make more sense then a Justice League because in the Arrow-verse we don't have two of the founding members, Batman and Wonder Woman. Without Batman, we wouldn't get a Robin either. Speaking of Wonder Woman, I'm glad you pointed out the actress because I didn't even realize. They get the same powers as Kryptonians under a yellow sun, but they're unaffected by Kryptonite--instead, lead is even more deadly to them than it is to humans. AFAIK there's no other connection between Daxam and Krypton in the comics--I *think* the war thing is specific to the show.

Mon-el is Superman's "brother". Not really that's how the comics introduced him. Mon-el was introduced in the 50s in the Legion of Superheroes. Mon-el was actually his Superhero name. His real name is Lar Gand (I think). He eventually changed his hero name to Valor. He has all of Superman's powers but his weakness is Lead instead of Kryptonite
You know, it occurs to me that in a show about discrimination and prejudice, bringing in comic characters like Maggie Sawyer is a stroke of genius, highlighting the themes of the show whilst also shining a new light on lesser known characters. It's also cool that she's the first batman character on the show (she was engaged to Batwoman, for those whom don't know, I forget if they married).
TheBrokenMadMan I wouldn't say that Maggie Sawyer is a Batman character. She was introduced in the Superman comics and was featured in the Superman cartoons. She was based out of the Metropolis Police Department for a long time and was a Superman supporting character. It wasn't until The New 52 that the character moved to Gotham and got together with Batwoman. With DC Rebirth, she's moved back to Metropolis. The character only spent a handful of years in Gotham out of a long publication history. She's primarily a Superman character that has spent some time in Gotham.

david power people on Earth have the same last name as other people and aren't related. Must be the same for other planets. There's lots of Smith's and Jones on Earth and not all of them are related
I'm curious if they'll explain it as well. In the comics he chose the name Mon-El because he had amnesia and assumed he was related to Superman in some way. (His real name being Lar Gand.) But here he seems to remember everything and still says he's Mon-El (which Kara didn't even react to). They might just handwave it away and expect most of their audience not to notice?

You know, it occurs to me that in a show about discrimination and prejudice, bringing in comic characters like Maggie Sawyer is a stroke of genius, highlighting the themes of the show whilst also shining a new light on lesser known characters. It's also cool that she's the first batman character on the show (she was engaged to Batwoman, for those whom don't know, I forget if they married).
TheBrokenMadMan I wouldn't say that Maggie Sawyer is a Batman character. She was introduced in the Superman comics and was featured in the Superman cartoons. She was based out of the Metropolis Police Department for a long time and was a Superman supporting character. It wasn't until The New 52 that the character moved to Gotham and got together with Batwoman. With DC Rebirth, she's moved back to Metropolis. The character only spent a handful of years in Gotham out of a long publication history. She's primarily a Superman character that has spent some time in Gotham.

david power people on Earth have the same last name as other people and aren't related. Must be the same for other planets. There's lots of Smith's and Jones on Earth and not all of them are related
I'm curious if they'll explain it as well. In the comics he chose the name Mon-El because he had amnesia and assumed he was related to Superman in some way. (His real name being Lar Gand.) But here he seems to remember everything and still says he's Mon-El (which Kara didn't even react to). They might just handwave it away and expect most of their audience not to notice?
