Skooliepalooza 2022 has descended into absolute CHAOS as police and rangers came to tell us that EVERYONE in the camp had to leave.
This week we start off by caravaning to Skooliepalooza with some friends from the VanLifePRIDE Meetup held a few weeks ago. Our group got to the site (it was 'supposed' to be in Parker, AZ but it was technically in Earp, CA) the day before Skooliepalooza officially started to make sure we had a good spot and weren't missing out on any time there.
Day 1 of Skooliepalooza went off without a hitch, and we spent the day meeting new friends, getting skoolie tours, and riding around our new XP 2.0 eBikes from Lectric! We wrap up the first day by making some IndoMie (Indonesian Ramen noodles) in our bus, gifted to us by our friends (@theRTWguys).
Day 2 started off like any other day, but quickly descended into chaos when police and rangers showed up to inform the entire camp (all 400+ rigs) had to leave and were being kicked out. Our caravan (which has grown considerably since we arrived) quickly packed up and got on the road heading to Ehrenberg, AZ which is where Skooliepalooza was held in previous years.
That was certainly unexpected, but hopefully that's the end of the drama and we can enjoy the rest of our time here... Time will tell! 😊

I lived in a school bus as a child, we worked with circuses, and most of the time the circus moved every day. Just one day stands. I still travel in a small motorhome, I am 77, and enjoy it very much.

I’m so sorry this happened to everyone. BUT the resilience and positivity that i saw happening says a LOT about Nomads: skoolie/van/camper/RV/vehicle dwellers. I LOVE THIS COMMUNITY!

We love our e-bikes by Lectric. We use a tote We found at Home Depot that the bikes fit perfectly and makes it easier to load and unload the bikes. Have a great time on Your Lectric bikes!!
Thanks, that's a great tip we may have to try that! Jimmy has been getting tire track marks on his shirt from putting the ebikes away so a tote might be what we need 😄

Was looking at other Skooliepalooza videos and saw you drive by on Nomadic Ramblers video LOL , it at 0.53 on there video . That was really cool seeing how you guys got me watching all these Skoolie videos . LOL
I met several Skoolies last winter by Lake Havasu City. A very friendly, cool and creative group of people. I enjoyed listening to some great live jazz from a nearby group. Have fun!

Hey guys throw a clear coat with peril in it that will help it pop the green you have is a timeless classic color it will be around long after your playing with you future grandchildren, just saying and for fun put a fancy belt line color to complement the green. Looks like you guys had some fun there and that's what it's all about hope to meet you someday out on the road.

I remember the episode where you showed the stove flame. There is a set screw near the burner that will adjust the flame height. You would first need to open or take off the stove top and the adjustment would start with full on and lower the flame so there is no yellow flame then lower the knob to make sure the flame doesn’t go out. Then fine turn it if the simmer flame is too low. You don’t want it to go out is the main thing.

Hey, you made it!!!, Ok now you guys like I always say are having to much fun. I enjoyed the RTR in 2020 I meet Panda Monium and I got to meet Bob Wells and take a picture with him that was cool. I spent the winter of 2019-2020 in and around Quartzsite with my 26 foot Class C motor home. I had been on the road for 4 years and came back to Washington State. That Ramen looked good, and Jimmy I don't like spicy stuff either. Sorry you guys had to move but looks like it all worked out. Ok have fun and as always "Enjoy The Adventure." 🙂

I couldn't help but notice the flame on your burner when you where cooking Ramen. If you turn on the burner, then pull off the control knob, and look inside the stem sticking out where the control knob was, you will see a slotted screw head. Take a screw driver, and turn the screw and you can decrease or increase the flame height. Right now it looks like it is getting to much air. This is a common thing. Every time I change or clean the orifices on mine, I have to adjust them.
