    Dude this is revolutionary! My favorite method by far! Now I'd guess you can crush up the pulverize into smaller pieces with a tamping rod. And you could use the kiln it to cure some (earthenware) clay pots or containers. Mix clay soil with sand and sculpt something, then put it into the fire chamber and cure it into a hard solid pot. Just make sure it protected from getting smashed

    The best for me and this fits to backyard area we have.
    This requires no sturdy equipments, only needed some garden and digging tools, few unuse metal bars and g.i. sheets, earth soil as gap sealer, improvised movable smoke stack, dry slim combustion starters, the woods to be process and one or two workers.
    I already deleted my other YT tutorials methods using such as the metal drum, mound building over each wood batches repeatedly, by the kiln.

    Surely it's least laborious design in many ways and most economical also ❤. Points I have observed by order of importance.
    1, the pit digging and arrangements for inlet and exhaust pipes can be done solo by one man at leisure that is in one day or one week as time permits.
    2, only two pipes 12 inch and 6 inch 6 foot each and one length of 16mm rebar also some galvanized sheets are required which can be arranged in one day.
    3, welding the rebar in a suitable way takes less than one day.
    4, he covered the sheets with loose soil instead of mud mixed with straw. the same loose soil can be used repeatedly any no of times by a single person. It also saves labour.
    5, if all this is covered with a roof it can also prevent rain water entering the pit. Making it all season business.
    6, This method does not require the wood to be of uniform size as in many other methods and designs.
    7, as the closing of inlet and outlet are in control of the person incharge it does not required the wood to be perfectly dry. If he has small quantity of dry wood to start the fire, the remaining wood can be partially green or wet. It only takes a little longer time for the smoke to subside. Then the vents may be closed.
    I think I am already lengthy but I have got courage to start the charcoal making, which I have been postponing for the last ten years. Anyway thank you great soul for sharing the education I wished I had ten years back.

    What is the yield / waste percentage? Do you also get brown charcoal that is not carbonised properly?
    How much charcoal can you make per month?

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There is still no test being conducted on the yield to waste percentage. But i can say that this one has less waste due to the fact that ashes on the bottom is not that huge in quantity and it may have been the fire starter I used. and the one i have been using is dried wood. So much more if you use wet or fresh woods.

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Unto the next question on the not carbonized properly, well, there are some cases.and most of them are the very large one that is not very appropraite on the size ratio of the other woods i have use. But still most part of it is charred.

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Next one is the quantity per month. I can't answer you in a specific numbers, because I only made charcoal for personal consumption. But if i compute it, my yield was always 2 large sack or charcoal in that 1 process. And it takes 2-3days. Because i'm not using water to cooldown the charcoal. I just let it cooldown by itself. Haha but if you use water after the woods have been charred. You can yield 2 sacks per day (8-10hours) in a dry wood setup.
      Hope you like my answer😇

      Nope. The air inlet will naturally be the entrance of the air due to the fire inside. The fire needs oxygen to burn so it will suck up air in that area. @@kealebogamosobea2246 it depends on the wood and its moisture content. Just be observant of the smoke and that will be your trial time

      In my video i used dried wood. And it takes 8-10hours to fully cook but i don't use water to cool it down. I just used natural cooling so it takes another 24 hours or more depends on the weather and the environmental temperature.
