Jude Xavier I wouldn’t take the chance on “very old stamps”. I usually use this for modern stamps (Post 1960s). Some older stamps can actually get ruined if they come into contact with water.
This isn't necessary at all. A much better way is 1: Drip water on the back of the paper and let it soak through 2: Peel the stamp off 3: Roll thumb in circular motion over the back of the stamp to remove paper residue. You might have to add another drop of water for step three but it works very well.
Sugumaran Dineshkumar it was a real envelope. I had pre removed the portion with my address. Also in Canada, authorities are known to not cancel stamps on mail delivery. It’s a big problem for philatelists.
You don't have to soak them and risk damaging them as such You can just let the water soak through the back, peel the stamp off and roll your thumb around the back of the stamp in a circular motion to get the residual paper off

Can you soak stamps to unstick another stamp?
Yes, you shall be able to.

Just plain water :)

Don't cheat like this. Take a really used postal envelope and remove stamps
