    note : you dont need to wait 24 hours, just put the stamps in some warm water (tap warm not boiling) and wait 2-3 minutes. use tweezers to peel them off the paper

      Yes, but if you don’t want to risk tearing the stamps, then waiting until they naturally loosen will work.

      @@Turtlehands Nope, it works fine with self adhesive stamps. There are just certain stamps that suck for it. The black Forever flag stamp with fireworks is the worst, followed by flags and trees in my experience. The Z flag is the best I've tried it with

    There's no risk in tearing the stamps after about 30 seconds. I've removed thousands of stamps and instead of soaking them, put them face down on your table, drip water on the back and press the water into the paper with your finger.
    The gum should even still be fine to re-adhere them to your "Collection book" if you take about 10 seconds rolling your thumb over the back of them in a circular motion to remove residual paper.

    Best way to do this is soak it in lighter fluid then peel off from paper and comes off supper clean and no paper left over and the glue will still be intact so you can just stick it in your book! Also for future removal make sure to put down a layer of tape under your stamps so you can easily peel it off if you ever need it for transderr

      If you have a stamp that is significantly valuable then you probably want to have it appraised while it is attached to the paper.
      Then, ask the appraiser about what would happen to the value if you remove it from the paper.

    How are they ready for the books? Should you wait till they dry? And if your going to do that, then how do you avoid any curling? Last question.. Is it still possible to see that water marks when they have been in the water for so long. HMMM seem redundant a little.. Like was that a stupid question?

    • @HowToVideoChannel
      @HowToVideoChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once you have them separated from the paper you can place them between a couple of paper towels and put a large book on top of them. After a few hours they’ll be dry and pressed flat so they won’t be curled. You shouldn’t be able to see any water marks but I suppose it will depend on the kind of stamp.

    Heat gun, gently. I use my Milwaukee heat gun on new US stamps with stamp in face-down position. No wet mess. No solvents.

    What should be done if scotch tape is on the stamp?

    • @HowToVideoChannel
      @HowToVideoChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Soaking it should still loosen the adhesive. If the tape is still on the stamp after soaking then you may have to try other methods like steam or placing it in the freezer.
